For Sale: 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport - 144k miles, many new parts Alternator replaced, New Battery, water pump, tune up, thermostat, headlights, cold a/c. Engine & transmission are strong, outside is NOT a showroom car in fact its an out right beast, it has dents, dings, the paint isn't that nice either, no rust.
This was used as an animal rescue car, runs strong needs some TLC & work. I bought it as a project truck but don't have the time or extra money right now, good for someone with the know how and time, which I do not have. Selling as is so please message me with any questions & i will be glad to answer. This is a USED 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport, selling AS IS. Many new parts but needs some work, may need brakes, air bag light is on, check engine light was on (was just told it was the O2 sensor) & will need an alignment. I bought this off of a friend who used it for animal rescue & the inside has a little dog smell to it also just had some rain water that got inside on the rugs only due to big storm we just had and high water but been vacuuming & cleaning it out the past 2 days I bought it as a project truck but do not have the time, extra money or know how to put into it. I have already put $900 into it and am losing money at this point but can no longer keep it & figured it would be best to sell it to someone that has the time and knowledge. Engine & transmission run strong and could make for a great winter vehicle. I am selling it because I am moving and also don't have the extra money or time to put towards this project. Jeep sets all-time sales record in 2012
Wed, 09 Jan 2013Last year was good to Jeep. Chrysler has announced its trail-rated brand set an all-time global sales record in 2012 by moving 701,626 units. That number easily surpasses the previous record set in 1999 when Jeep sold 675,494 models. All told, the brand saw a 19-percent sales increase worldwide over 2011, and much of that swell can be traced directly to the Wrangler. While the Grand Cherokee led Jeep sales, the Wrangler posted record numbers both globally and within the US, moving 194,142 and 141,669 units in each market, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Compass beat its previous global sales record with 103,321 units rolling off of dealer lots. In the US, Jeep sold 62,010 Patriot units, breaking that model's previous record as well. Jeep's impressive performance in 2012 marks the second year in a row the brand has seen double-digit percentage sales increases. Check out the full press release below.
Jeep Wrangler gets the wide-track treatment
Mon, 07 Jan 2013When we read the tip about a Gulf-state diplomat in Rabat, Morocco who had supposedly "merged two Jeep Wranglers," we figured the two off-roaders were somehow linked front-to-back. Oh no. As you can see in the image above, taken from video of that vehicle actually traveling down the road and needing more than one lane to do it, the two Jeeps were put together side-by-side.
The seriously widebody truck is said to have six wheels, one at each corner and two in the middle. That's about all anyone seems to know about it at the moment, and that's probably enough - in these situations you know better than to ask why, just watch the video below.
Jeep mulling power top for next Wrangler
Fri, 07 Mar 2014Jeep is hard at work on the next-generation Wrangler, though the truck is still a few years from hitting the trails. The new model will still be aimed at off-roaders, but rumors suggest it will be a little more comfortable than previous versions to appeal to more people.
According to Road and Track, Jeep is developing a power-retractable top as an expensive option for the Wrangler. There is no word if the top in question is a sliding canvas rollback like the ones found on many European vehicles or a full convertible hardtop or softtop, nor do we know whether it would be made available on two- or four-door models. It might be a nice feature for some buyers but would certainly add complexity to a truck already known for its ruggedness. We asked Jeep for confirmation, but Jeep spokesperson Todd Goyer could only remind us that the company "can't comment about future products."
In news that is likely to irk the faithful, R&T reports the next model may also ditch its folding windshield for improved safety and possibly even get rid of its rear-mounted, full-size spare tire. The new Wrangler won't go completely soft, though, and will reportedly still feature removable doors and solid axles.
