Clean title. Great on or off road. Selling my Custom built  turn key Lifted 1997 Jeep Cherokee XJ . The jeep drives like a Cadillac on the road, and is a tank off road. It has a new used 1 owner Engine with 105k with a bunch of new parts. on body and odometer it reads 205k. 4wd. AUTOMATIC. Cruise Control. Leather seats. Tan exterior, grey & dark grey int. Cold a/c & Warm heat (New heater core installed last winter). This Jeep is good on gas.

Technical info :4.5" Rubicon Express lift (all new upper and lower control arm bushings). total lift with spacer 5". New set of 35' All terrain tires. ARB Bull Bar Bumper winch ready. 2 Hella 700 auxiliary lights. Slip Yolk Eliminator. hp30 front axel / 8.25 rear. NP231. Additional heavy duty transmission cooler. roof rack with spare tire. Small class 1 hitch to pull a jet ski.

*The Engine was installed 3/31/13 (when installed it had 98k), it runs great, turn key. if properly maintained it should go past 300k.
The Engine got all new gaskets, plugs, wires, water pump, etc. All Premium grade no cheap stuff.

* More than $6-7k has been spent on this Jeep to make it look and drive strong, I am selling as is, but after all the work I have done to it now, it should last you a long time. Very capable. This Jeep is rust free on frame and body.

*Just rebuilt the front axle & new fuel pump. starts at first turn and better response.

I painted the Jeep with Plasti-Dip, this can peel off, the color is green, the hood and roof are faded, the rest of the body is good, few branch scrapes here and there, and the back bumper was bent passenger side, small dent.

This is a southern Jeep, It has no rust, it's been in NY give or take 3 years.

NY Inspection Done 4/13/13 good for a Year

The bad but not really bad: the Jeep could use are new shocks(Bilsteins 5100), and the rear drive shaft rebuilt (it has a small click on it but it drives fine), and the steering box is leaking, I would upgrade the steering box (The Durango), and a 1 ton steering bar be installed to make it a better daily driver . You can drive as is. I am always working on it to enhance it, If I install these items myself I will increase the price of the Jeep. As far as little things it needs a horn I was going to upgrade to a train horn. and the front windshield fluid is not working, might be a simple or cheap fix and rear wiper not working could be a loose connection or cheap fix The drivers side seat needs to be connected it is the only electric seat, I have the wires (If you are tall it is fine, if you short that will need to be addressed). I upgraded seats to leather (the drivers side has the common jeep tear) I know some guys think this is priced a bit high, but this jeep is ready to go to California & Back, a few trail rides, and some good old fashion wheelin.

This week in EVs: Electric Jeeps, Chevy Equinox, reborn VW bus

Sun, Sep 11 2022

There's going to be tons of car news next week as the Detroit Auto Show makes its return after 48 years. OK, so the pandemic and the show's shifting calendar only made it feel like 48 years, but January 2019 was still a long time ago. As we await that wave of headlines, let's look back at the substantial week that already was, specifically in terms of the electric car news that broke. Electric Jeep Recon and Wagoneer S blaze trail to brand's EV future Jeep declared Thursday to be 4xe Day as it revealed loads of previously unknown information about its future electrification efforts. The biggest surprise was the extremely cool and 100% electric Jeep Recon. Although it looks like a Wrangler, it's absolutely not a Wrangler replacement, and is indeed quite different for reasons besides its powertrain (independent front and rear suspension, fully enclosed fenders, fixed roof). As the photos attest, though, you'll be able to remove the doors and rear-quarter windows just like a Wrangler. And again, it's electric. Expect the Recon to be one of the most eagerly anticipated new vehicles over the next couple of years. Yes, years, plural. Production will start in 2024 with reservations accepted starting early next year. Jeep Recon View 5 Photos   There was then the Wagoneer S. Despite the name, it isn't a sportier Wagoneer variant or even an electric Wagoneer. In fact, the name is temporary according to chief designer Ralph Gilles. This sleek SUV, which sure looks like Jeep's attempt at a Range Rover Vilar (not a bad thing), will apparently have a 600-horsepower electric powertrain. It too will be produced in North America starting in 2024 with reservations starting early next year. Jeep Wagoneer S View 4 Photos   There actually WILL be an electrified Wagoneer, however: the Grand Wagoneer 4xe PHEV. That's good since the Grand Wagoneer gets pretty atrocious fuel economy. Details were light regarding specs, but we did get a half-decent photo. Finally, the first of these electrified Jeeps to launch will be the Avenger. Yes, Chrysler/Stellantis is dusting off an old Dodge name for a Jeep. That Dodge in question wasn't sold in Europe, though (good for them), which is important since the Jeep Avenger will only be sold on the other side of the pond. It's mechanically based on the same platform as several French Stellantis EV SUVs, and only goes 249 miles on the far more generous European WLTP test cycle.

FCA CEO Mike Manley will take undefined new role after PSA merger

Wed, Dec 18 2019

MILAN — Fiat Chrysler Chief Executive Mike Manley will remain with the new group set to result from a planned merger with French rival PSA-Peugeot, Chairman John Elkann said on Wednesday. In a letter to Fiat Chrysler (FCA) employees on the day the two companies announced a binding agreement for a $50 billion tie-up to create the world's fourth-largest carmaker, Elkann said he was "delighted" that the combined group would be led by current PSA CEO Carlos Tavares. "And Mike Manley, who has led FCA with huge energy, commitment and success over the past year, will be there alongside him," he said. He did not say what position Manley would hold. Elkann — who will chair the new group — said there was still much to be done to complete the merger. "Over the coming months we must work tirelessly and determinedly to fulfill all the approval requirements needed to finalize the commitment we have signed," he said. China-FCA merger could be a win-win for everyone but politicians

Tue, Aug 15 2017

NEW YORK — Fiat Chrysler boss Sergio Marchionne has said the car industry needs to come together, cut costs and stop incinerating capital. So far, his words have mostly fallen on deaf ears among competitors in Europe and North America. But it appears Marchionne has finally found a receptive audience — in China. FCA shares soared Monday after trade publication Automotive News reported the $18 billion Italian-American conglomerate controlled by the Agnelli family rebuffed a takeover from an unidentified carmaker from the Chinese mainland. As ugly as the politics of such a combination may appear at first blush, a transaction could stack up industrially, and perhaps even financially. A Sino-U.S.-European merger would create the first truly global auto group. That could push consolidation to the next level elsewhere. Moreover, China is the world's top market for the SUVs that Jeep effectively invented, so it might benefit FCA financially. A combo would certainly help upgrade the domestic manufacturer; Chinese carmakers have gotten better at making cars, but struggle to build global brands, and they need to develop export markets. Though frivolous overseas shopping excursions by Chinese enterprises are being reined in by Beijing, acquisitions that support the modernization and transformation of strategic industries still receive support, and the government considers the automotive industry to be strategic. A purchase of FCA by Guangzhou Automobile, Great Wall or Dongfeng Motors would probably get the same stamp of approval ChemChina was given for its $43 billion takeover of Syngenta. What's standing in the way? Apart from price (Automotive News said FCA's board deemed the offer insufficient) there's the not-insignificant matter of politics. Even as FCA shares soared, President Donald Trump interrupted his vacation to instruct the U.S. Trade Representative to look into whether to investigate China's trade policies on intellectual property. Seeing storied Detroit brands like Jeep, Chrysler, Ram and Dodge handed off to a Chinese company would provoke howls among Trump's economic-nationalist supporters. It might not play well in Italy, either, to see Alfa Romeo and Maserati answering to Wuhan instead of Turin — though Automotive News said they might be spun off separately. Yet, as Morgan Stanley observes, "cars don't ship across oceans easily," and political considerations increasingly demand local manufacture of valuable products.
