This is a 1977 CJ-7 Jeep.  I have a clean title and am the sole owner of this Georgia / Virginia vehicle, that is now in California.  Started a ground up restoration 12-years ago.  However, my priorities have changed since then (wife, house, three kids), thus its time to let her go (the Jeep).  The vehicle has never sat outside - 100% garaged since start of restoration.

I have personally sandblasted and worked on every inch of this vehicle, replaced the minimal rust spots, smoothed primed and painted the frame with high-gloss black Imron paint.  It shines!  All the frame seams have been smoothed with seam sealer – this part is show ready!

The body is solid, no rust.  Undercoated and various panels replaced.  There is some filler on the cowl and engine bay that should be replaced (not my best work here).  Also, it appears that some rust has bled through the seams on the front passenger side of body (ugh, see photos).  I would rework these areas, otherwise, very smooth.  The defroster, heater, top holes, door holes have all been filled for a smoother look.

Dana 20 rear with 3.54 gears.  Completely rebuilt and has axle truss.  New one piece rear axles with four wheel disc brake conversion kit from SSBC.  Stainless steel brake lines, Rancho 9000 shocks.  Looks brand new!

It has a Sky Jacker 4” lift kit with new poly body mounts.  Heavy duty shackles. All rubber components replaced with red poly.

Warn front and rear bumpers, with one Mickey Thompson Baja II wheel with a BFG A/T 33 x 12.50 spare on Warn oversized tire carrier. Currently sits on old restoration tires.

Custom diamond plate dash with battery cut off switch (no key ignition), all Auto Meter electronic gauges, new speedo.  It has a Flaming River tilt wheel column, new steering shaft and Grant Steering wheel. Heavy Duty AGR steering box and bracing.  New steering linkage, steering stabalizer, etc.

Iron Horse high back bucket seats with racing harnesses, new bikini top, carpet, and role bar padding, center console. Most every bolt on the vehicle is stainless steel.  Diamond plate gas and brake pedals, as well as trans tunnel cover. KC Lights, and new stainless side view mirrors, and backup lights.

Fiberglass one piece front end that tilts forward – this is an amazing feature. Custom diamond plate trim pieces, fiberglass windshield frame and new windshield (not installed).  All new exterior trim / lights, etc.

Front is a fully rebuilt Dana 30 with all new front disc brakes, stainless steel brake line extensions and new warn hubs..  Again, every piece of metal has been replaced or sandblasted, primed and painted with the same high-gloss black Imron paint.  Also has matching front axle truss.

Set up for Ford 302 motor with custom radiator bracing with high-flow aluminum Quick Flow radiator.  Hella horns, electric dual fans.   Has high flow fuel pump, new gas lines, etc.

This vehicle, while far along still has a ways to go.  It needs an Engine, Transmission, transfer case, wiring harness and four wheels and tires and minor body work and paint to make it a real head turner.

I will entertain serious offers only.  You will need to arrange transport from my home.  The vehicle obviously does not run and therefore will cost more when transporting by professional hauler.   I have hundreds of hours of labor and well over $20K into this vehicle.  Its time someone finishes the job.

Massachusetts man charged $48,000 for a tow [w/video]

Wed, Oct 28 2015

Tow truck operators are right up there with landlords and IRS auditors on the list of professionals you don't want to deal with. A man in Massachusetts has all the more reason to avoid a tow after he was hit with a $48,000 bill, Fox 25 reports. Joel Ramer and his girlfriend were off-roading in Walpole, MA last week when they wandered were they shouldn't have. They landed in a mud pit on private property. Ramer said it took Assured Collision towing company 12 hours to free his vehicle from the muck. But when he got the bill for the tow, he thought the accounting department must have been off by a decimal. "When I went to pick up the vehicle from Assured Collision, he'd informed me there was some damage done to the vehicle, but didn't get into details. He also informed me the bill was $48,000," Ramer told Fox. "I thought they made a mistake." The phrase 'some damage' was putting it lightly. Ramer says Assured Collision totaled his Jeep. "Frame is broken, leaf spring is broken, drive shaft is broken," Ramer said. The itemized bill showed Ramer exactly what he was paying for. Assured Collision charged him $16,000 for an on-scene supervisor. That's $1,250 an hour. The Statewide Towing Association told Fox 25 that the actual industry standard is $175-$325 an hour. The company also claimed that power lines put them at risk, calling it a "hazmat situation." That allowed them to tack on another $5,000 fee for dangerous condition liability insurance. Finally, there was an extra $10,000 fee for an off-road recovery incident response unit. Insurance won't help with the cost of the tow, so Ramer's broke Jeep is in Assured Collision's hands. On top of the enormous bill and busted Jeep, Ramer was arrested and cited for trespassing on land owned by a utility company and disturbing the peace. In Michigan, car hackers could face life imprisonment

Fri, Apr 29 2016

Car hackers may not want to mess with vehicles in and around the Motor City. A pair of Michigan lawmakers introduced legislation Thursday that would punish anyone who infiltrates a vehicle's electronic systems with penalties as harsh as life imprisonment. Senate bill 927 says that "a person shall not intentionally access or cause access to be made to an electronic system of a motor vehicle to willfully destroy, damage, impair, alter or gain unauthorized control of the motor vehicle." Offenders will be deemed guilty of a felony, and may be imprisoned for any number of years up to life in prison. The proposed legislation is one of the first attempts nationally to address the consequences for car hacking, which has become a top concern throughout the auto industry. Critics have accused executives of being slow to respond to the threats, which were first known as long as six years ago but gained attention last July when a pair of researchers remotely controlled a Jeep Cherokee. In January, the industry established an Information Sharing and Analysis Center to collectively evaluate security measures and counter breaches. But the Michigan bill isn't noteworthy only because of the life penalty prescribed; it's noteworthy for what's missing in its details. Language in the bill doesn't delineate between independent cyber-security researchers and criminals who intend to inflict harm or havoc. Under its provisions, it's possible Charlie Miller, pictured below, and Chris Valasek, the researchers who demonstrated last summer that the Cherokee could be remotely commandeered and controlled, could face life behind bars. Provisions of the legislation that prevent a person from "altering" the motor vehicle could ensnare car enthusiasts or gearheads who tinker with electronic systems to boost performance, increase fuel efficiency or add aftermarket features. In that context, Senate Bill 927 seems like the latest measure in a running feud between independent researchers, gearheads and big automakers. Car companies don't like third parties poking around their electronic systems and would prefer the researchers not reveal security weaknesses. Researchers, on the other hand, say many carmakers are either slow to fix or unwilling to repair security holes unless they're able to publish their findings.
