This Jeep is in very good condition and it is going to be hard to find a vehicle like this one for the money. The paint is Viper Red and is in pretty good condition, there are some imperfections in it.

The motor is a Grooms High Performance 350 with 4000 miles and the motor is rated at around 300HP. The motor is running 9.5 to 1 flat top pistons, 280 comp cam, and built 963 heads. The transmission is a 350 turbo with a hurst ratchet shifter in the floor changing the gears. The transfer case is a NP205 with custom shifters to make it easier to go from 2L, 2H, 4L, and 4H... that's right -- four selections :-)

The Dana 44 rear axle has been completely rebuilt and runs 4:10 gears with a Detroit TruTrac locker. The Dana 30 front axle also has been completely rebuilt and it also runs 4:10 gears. With this set-up the jeep is running custom driveshafts to the front and rear axles. This Jeep's steering is running a new rebuilt steering box and Flaming River Shaft.

Suspension is made up with a 4" SkyJacker Soft Ride lift, custom 1 1/4" body lift, and a 1/2" shackle lift. The shackles are built out of 1/2"x 2 1/2" plate with a 2"x 2" center support. The tires are BRAND NEW 35 x 12.50 Mickey Thompson Baja MTZs running on 15x10 aluminum wheels. To help get your flex on even more in this jeep just undo the sway bar disconnects up front and you're good to go.

The interior has Think Jeep front seats and a Bestop Fold and Tumble rear seat, the seat belts are also new and they are 3" racing belts up front and 2" in the rear. The inside of the tub is coated with Hercules roll in bed liner. The Windshield and the windshield gasket is also new. On the body parts there are lots of new parts and they are one-piece fiberglass front end, fender flares, all new Stainless Steel bumpers, windshield and tailgate hinges, mirrors, alum. rocker guards, corners, and half doors, and there are many more new parts that are stainless or alum..

For cover this jeep comes with Hard Top, Hard Doors, and bikini top. The only reason I am selling this jeep is because I have bought another project to build and I can't have that many toys. This jeep has over $20,000 invested in it not counting all of the labor. There are still many new parts on this Jeep that I have not mentioned and everything that I have for a jeep that is not on this one will go with this one. I have parts that I have never taken out of the box for this jeep.

** I would NOT consider this Jeep a daily driver in its current configuration. It is perfectly streetable going to the trails, camping, around town, etc. but it is set up for off-road primarily.

7 months later, Jeep 'trailer hitch' recall still stalled

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

For the past few years, Chrysler and its CEO, Sergio Marchionne, have gone head-to-head with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and its boss, David Strickland, over the government safety agency's request for Chrysler to recall almost three-million Jeep vehicles due to what NHTSA says is a safety issue that has caused at least 51 deaths. After a three-year investigation and Chrysler's initial refusal to issue a recall because it deemed the vehicles safe and built to the day's federal requirements, last summer, the two parties compromised on a "voluntary campaign" to inspect 1.56 million vehicles, those being the 1992 to 1998 Grand Cherokee and 2002 to 2007 Liberty.
Those vehicles were designed with their gas tanks between the rear axle and the bumper, and NHTSA says that in rear-end collisions, damage to the fuel tank has caused fires responsible for those 51 deaths. The compromise reached last summer was that Chrysler would inspect 1.56 million vehicles and, "if necessary, provide an upgrade to the rear structure of the vehicle." Practically speaking, that meant Chrysler would replace aftermarket trailer hitches, but would take no action if a vehicle had a factory-installed hitch or an aftermarket hitch from Mopar.
A report in The Detroit News says the "voluntary campaign" is just now getting under way, with Chrysler saying last week that the design of the replacement part had been finalized and it was tooling up "to deliver the required volume." Seven months later, still in question is whether NHTSA will crash-test the fix engineered by Chrysler, noteworthy because not only did the vehicles in question pass every safety standard necessary to be cleared for sale at the time, there are still questions (to those of us on the outside) as to how the Jeeps at issue fare among their peers in such incidents. Either way, Chrysler and NHTSA apparently still disagree on the efficacy of the remedy itself: the carmaker says it might help in low-speed crashes but not high-speed collisions, a position the NHTSA is at odds with. All of this means the campaign doesn't yet have an end in sight.

Jeep CEO a fan of pickup redux

Tue, Mar 10 2015

The idea of a Jeep pickup is a hardly a new concept. After all, putting a bed on the company's rugged off-roaders goes back to the '40s, not to mention the more recent Cherokee-based Comanche. There's a very slim chance that a truck could return to the lineup down the line if brand CEO Mike Manley gets his wish. "I remain a big fan of a Jeep pickup. I think we have history that says it belongs in our portfolio," Manley said to The Detroit News. However, there's no need to get any hopes up soon, because a truck doesn't get any mention in the brand's five-year plan. That puts the earliest possible introduction around 2019. Even Manley is tempering expectations. "At this moment and time, I have higher priorities. That doesn't mean to say that we don't work on it, we're not looking at it," he said to The Detroit News. The most likely candidate to support a future Jeep truck is the next-gen Wrangler, according to The News. The rest of FCA's pickups and SUVs are running at capacity, which makes slipping in another variant difficult. However, the future Wrangler is heavily rumored to get an expanded production facility in Toledo, OH, which could make things possible. Anonymous FCA insiders confirmed to Autoblog that the next-gen Wrangler would be offered with a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 and eight-speed automatic. It's also reportedly using solid axles at the front and rear, a fixed windshield and an aluminum body. That could make for a very fun and practical off-roader. If reading all of this speculation gives you a twinge of deja vu, it should. After the Jeep Gladiator concept (pictured above), there were years of speculation about the brand bringing the pickup back. Even then the plan was for a compact truck to tackle that hole in the segment. It was even believed that the project had a green light for production seemingly with Sergio Marchionne's blessing. Then things were pushed back, and last year, the idea was officially quashed. Related Video:

LA-bound 2014 Jeep Wrangler special edition gives us the Willys for $25,795

Mon, 18 Nov 2013

The Jeep Wrangler might be the reigning king of special editions, but with sales records being broken almost all year, this plan is obviously resonating with buyers. Joining new models like the Dragon Edition and Polar Edition, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler is adding a new Willys Wheeler Edition to pay homage to Jeep's military heritage.
Getting ready for its big debut at the LA Auto Show, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition is inspired by early Willys CJ (Civilian Jeep) models with exclusive styling and upgraded off-road goodies. Starting with a Wrangler Sport, these upgrades include a Dana 44 rear axle with limited-slip differential and 3.73 gears, along with meaty BF Goodrich KM Mud Terrain tires mounted to the Willys Wheeler's black 17-inch wheels. For more of a classic Jeep look, this model adds a gloss black grille, "Willys" hood stickers and rock rails to protect the side sills. Jeep is also tossing in a D-ring, tow strap and gloves that are all kept in a special carrying bag.
When it goes on sale early next year, the Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition will start at $25,795 for the two-door model, while the four-door will start at $29,595. There's an official press release posted below, and we'll be sure to have live images of the special-edition Wrangler live from the LA Auto Show floor later this week, so stay close.
