This is a rust and rot-free CJ7 that came from Arizona and has a clear Arizona Title.  I bought it knowing that I was going to bring it back to original however I am sidetracked by a '78 Golden Eagle project.  This jeep is rock solid and drives great.  The engine has been replaced with a newer 4.2 liter fuel injected engine (not the 4.0 liter).  The jeep starts on the first turn of the key each and every time and absolutely NO idling issues.  It drives great down the highway at 70 mph and doesn't wander or wobble at all.  The 4-speed transmission and clutch shift perfectly and the jeep stops on a dime.  The brakes as well as the exhaust have been replaced recently and it does appear to be legal for anyone interested in emission restricted states.  The catalytic converter are in place and it does have the original components for smog control under the hood.  Keep in mind that Michigan does not have mandatory testing so I can't say for certain that it will pass emissions, but as I stated, all of the components appear to be intact and the jeep does not seem to run rich or lean.  4x4 works fine but I've not had it out in the sand dunes or mudding - I simply don't use my jeeps that way.  The jeep does not have power steering, however I do have the gearbox as well as the pump if you'd like to convert it.  Those items can be negotiated in the selling price however are not included in the auction.

The exterior is in great shape.  I had it painted recently however I instructed the shop to not use any filler.  You can still see the factory rivet marks and the natural "waves" that the jeep had when it was born. There were just too many stone pops/chips for me to put a new decal package over it so I had it painted.  The paint is not show quality, however it looks great.  I tend to be a little picky on my jeeps so I may be more critical than others.  The doors were painted as well as and have all new seals.  The soft-top is almost new and I actually hate to get rid of it as I was planning on saving it for my next project.  Same story with the wheels.  I had painted a set of wagon wheels and found some trim rings and center caps but the chrome ones look too good to take off.

The interior is in great condition as well.  There are a few things a purist would notice but doesn't affect the jeep.  The dash is cut for the stereo, the steering column is out of a YJ (one of the plastic rings is cracked), there is a toggle switch on the dash for the fuel pump (I haven't taken the time to wire the electric fuel pump to the ignition - it was this way when I got it), I recovered the seats with aftermarket, leather skins (although they look really good), the rear seat is aftermarket, the center console is missing the lock, and the carpet I installed is out of a YJ so some of the holes are a little larger around the seat belt openings.  Other than that, the jeep shows extremely well.  The previous owner also painted in the bedliner material on the inside, which I didn't know before I purchased it site-unseen.  For that reason, I did take a bunch of pictures of the underside so you can see that the pans are not rusted out in the least bit.

The rockers are solid.  As you can see from the underside, the rocker mouldings have no rust on the attachment lip.  There is no rust near the rear frame or tailgate welds either.  This jeep is Solid!  Because I have a bunch of parts and wouldn't mind keeping some of the parts off the jeep, I'm willing to negotiate a few items if you'd like to get the reserve lowered:

Top:  Have a white-hard top as well as an original white whitco - snap top with all of the doors and hardware.  I'd be willing to drop for the hardtop swap or a few more bucks for the original
Wheels:  I have a set of four painted, black wagon wheels with chrome trim rings and center caps that would like nice as well.
Center Console:  If you are planning on replacing this one - I'll take it out and drop a few bucks
Power Steering:  I can include the p/s pump as well as the gearbox for a few bucks (you install it)

Lastly, the odometer wasn't working so it was swapped out with one that was.  The gauges, including the gas gauge, do work now - however I don't know the true mileage of the jeep.  Being from Arizona, I do have the emissions test, which it passed easily in 2012.  I have made no modifications to the engine other than a tune up (plugs, wires, oil, etc) so there should be no changes.  Being a used vehicle though, I cannot guarantee that it will pass.  All I can tell you is that it does not run rich or lean, has no cold issues like the carter BBD carbs had, no rod noises or engine knocks - so I can't imagine there would be an emission problem if you live in a state that requires it.

I don't have any problem shipping however I'm in need of space so it would have to be within a reasonable timeframe.  I've sold jeeps and mustangs to Australia, South Africa, New Zeeland, Norway, and Canada - to name a few.  If you have any questions or want more pictures, please don't hesitate to ask however I do request that you respect my time and refrain from tire-kicking.  Thanks for looking and GodBless!

Project Trail Force Jeep Wrangler goes to SEMA, then to a lucky winner

Wed, Jul 1 2015

Extreme Terrain is an aftermarket parts company focused on the Jeep Wrangler. Partly just because it's a really cool thing to do, and probably having something to do with Jeep's upcoming 75th anniversary, Extreme Terrain found some dance partners to help work up a special 2015 Wrangler Rubicon that it will show off at the Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival in Butler, PA, then at SEMA in November, where it will be given away. Extreme worked with Barricade Off-Road and Kevin Tetz from the Spike show Trucks! to build the Wrangler it calls Project Trail Force. There is more than $24,000 worth of aftermarket gear on it, starting with the Ripp centrifugal supercharger that pumps an additional 140 horsepower into the 3.6-liter V6. It's got a 3.5-inch lift kit from Rock Krawler, Dana 44 axles strung between 37-inch BFG tires, Barricade bumpers, a 9,500-pound winch, fender flares, rock sliders, a 50-inch LED light bar above the windshield, LED spotlights on the A-pillars, and seven-inch KC Hilites headlights. Rugged Ridge worked over the inside with upgrades like all-terrain floor and cargo liners, plus seat covers, and a new navigation system with a back-up camera. If you want to win it, you can enter the contest at Extreme Terrain once every week until Oct. 23. The winner gets flown to SEMA to have Kevin Tetz hand the keys over. If you just want to see it, you can head to PA for that heritage festival. The Project Trail Force will also lead a Jeep parade that could set a Guinness World Record. The press release below has a lot more info on the build. Good luck. EXTREMETERRAIN AND BARRICADE OFF-ROAD TO UNVEIL THEIR FULLY-BUILT 2015 JEEP WRANGLER AT BANTAM JEEP FESTIVAL ExtremeTerrain.com and Barricade Off-Road teamed up to build a $73,000+ 2015 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon to be given away to a lucky winner at the 2015 SEMA Show • Giveaway Link: http://www.extremeterrain.com/jeep-wrangler-project-trailforce-giveaway.html • Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsO6fxVq6kI MALVERN, Pa. FCA's UAW workers to get $8,010 profit-sharing payout

Wed, Mar 3 2021

UAW workers at FCA will soon be receiving $8,010 checks, which represent profit-sharing based on the company's 2020 performance. Although FCA's profit margins in 2020 were slimmer than the year prior, the union-employee payouts are slightly larger, due to a change in the formula that was negotiated in 2019 and has now gone into effect. Employees are now paid $900 for every 1% of profit margin FCA achieves in its North American operations. For 2020, the company enjoyed an 8.9% profit margin, and although that was down slightly from 9.1% in 2019, the checks are larger than last year's $7,280 payout. Still, FCA employees didn't fare quite as well as their counterparts at GM, who stand to receive profit-sharing checks of up to $9,000. GM workers did even better last year, netting $10,000. UAW workers at Ford had less to celebrate. They'll receive $3,525, based on the company's 2020 performance. That's a steep drop from last year's $6,600. FCA earned $6.472 billion in North America in 2020. The company is expecting an improved financial performance in 2021, as it's expected to avoid another coronavirus-related shutdown. It's also expected to benefit from the launch of the three-row Grand Cherokee L, as well as the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, all of which are high-margin products. Stellantis moves to set up its own lending unit

Sat, Sep 4 2021

Stellantis is buying Houston-based auto lender First Investors Financial Services Group to set up its own finance arm in the U.S., a move that should support sales and eventually boost profit. The only major traditional automaker in the U.S. without its own finance company agreed to pay $285 million to a group of investors led by Gallatin Point Capital and Jacobs Asset Management, according to a statement. The transaction is expected to close by year-end. Stellantis was formed via the merger between Fiat Chrysler and PSA Group early this year. Carlos Tavares, the PSA boss who became the combined company’s chief executive officer, called the deal to acquire First Investors a milestone that will increase earnings and enhance customer loyalty. “Direct ownership of a finance company in the U.S. is a white-space opportunity which will allow Stellantis to provide our customers and dealers a complete range of financing options,” Tavares said Wednesday in the statement.  Having an in-house finance company has helped rivals General Motors Co. and Ford Motor Co. pad profits, especially during the global semiconductor shortage that has limited production and crimped sales. GM bought subprime lender AmeriCredit Corp. in 2010 and renamed it GM Financial. The operation generated a $2.76 billion profit in the first half -- roughly a third of the companyÂ’s adjusted earnings before interest and taxes. Trouble for Santander? The First Investors acquisition could spell trouble for Chrysler Capital, the operation that Santander Consumer USA Holdings Inc. and Chrysler set up in 2013 before the U.S. automaker completed its merger with Fiat. In a statement, Santander Consumer said itÂ’s committed to supporting Stellantis through the term of their existing agreement and its transition. Santander Consumer will also have “ongoing conversations with Stellantis about long-term mutually beneficial opportunities beyond 2023,” the company said, adding that its consumer business remains strong and has “delivered solid results for our shareholders.” This, along with support from its parent company, will allow the lender to “pursue additional opportunities as they arise.” The lenderÂ’s U.S.-listed stock fell 1.5% in New York trading Wednesday after Bloomberg reported Stellantis was preparing to announce a new finance partner. Stellantis shares rose as much as 1.3% in Paris trading Thursday.
