1982 Jeep Scrambler Cj8 on 2040-cars
Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States
1982 Jeep Scrambler CJ8 Floorboards had minor rust, repaired by previous owner with sheet fiberglass. NO bad or cancerous rust anywhere on Scrambler. Unsure, even after review of the Carfax if the miles are 56k or 156k, however, at replacement the original odometer showed 56,397. Barely driven since the re-build and currently the odometer only has 154 miles on it. Only needs are for the fuel gauge to be hooked up, heater power cords to be reconnected, and a little work with the radio. Radio is currently installed but was draining the battery so I just unplugged it. I value my feedback and want to make sure all of your questions are answered. Call, text, or email (through eBay) anytime and I will get back to you ASAP. Nice enough to be proud of, but not too nice that you wont want to drive it. You'll get plenty of looks in this Scrambler! Getting married soon and as you can see in one of the pictures its time to get rid of at least one toy. Reply via email to, text, or call 719 - 660 - 1307. Let me know if you have any questions, would like additional pictures, or want to come take a test drive. Vehicle is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado and is available for sale locally. I reserve the right to end the auction if sold prior to auction completion. No international buyers please. Thanks for looking! |

All hail the Hellephant, Mopar's 1,000-horsepower crate engine
Wed, Oct 31 2018It's shocking to say this, but the all-powerful Dodge Demon looks weak now that Mopar has unleashed the Hellephant. This crate motor makes 1,000 horsepower and 950 pound-feet of torque, and its name is a combination of the nickname for the old 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8 and, obviously, the Hellcat. This monster is a 426-cubic-inch version of the current third-generation Hemi V8 topped by a supercharger similar to what the Hellcat line packs. Everything is cranked up to — or perhaps, past — 11. The engine block is made of aluminum and weighs 100 pounds less than the equivalent iron block. All of the internals are forged. The stroke and bore have been increased. The supercharger produces 15 pounds of boost and displaces 3 liters; more than the 2.7-liter blower on the Demon and the 2.4-liter blower on the Hellcat. And as big and powerful as it is, it will still rev to 7,000 rpm. It's a thoroughly monstrous motor, but shockingly, it won't be that difficult to live with. For one thing, Mopar will offer a complete kit to get the engine up and running, including an engine computer, wiring harness and drive-by-wire throttle. It also runs on 93-octane pump gas. That's especially amazing considering the Demon engine "only" makes 840 horsepower, and that's on race gas with 100+ octane fuel. It also has us wondering what the Hellephant could make on racing fuel. The Mopar folks did say that there's room to add more power. Pricing wasn't announced for the Hellephant engine. The Hellcat crate engine retails at $19,350 directly from Mopar, so it's safe to assume that the Hellephant will go for more. The installation kit with the computer and harness will be an extra charge of likely over $2,000, based on the Hellcat kit. The engine and the kit will be available in the first quarter of 2019. Jeep Wrangler Red Rock concept brings Moab to SEMA
Wed, Nov 4 2015Among the concepts that FCA is showcasing at SEMA this year, the Jeep Wrangler Red Rock concept has been decked out with accessories from both the Mopar and Jeep catalogs. The concept is based on the existing Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Hard Rock edition, but has been taken even further in for this show truck. It pays tribute to the Red Rock 4-Wheelers club and the Easter Jeep Safari it hosts every year in Moab, UT. The Red Rock concept rides on a 2-inch lift kit with 17-inch beadlock wheels shod with 35-inch all-terrain tires. It also has differential covers, a reinforced swing gate and wheel mount, a power winch, LED headlamps and fog lights, and an onboard CB radio. To help it crawl those rocks, it boasts electronic locking differentials, a Rock-Trac transfer case, and Dana 44 solid axles front and rear. Visually setting this concept apart are such special touches as a power-dome hood, red tow hooks front and rear, new rock rails, a color-keyed grille with low-gloss inserts, low-gloss bumpers, and of course the requisite special badging. Inside it's been done up in brown leather with silver accents and a special grab-handle plaque. This particular version will remain a showpiece only. So if you want to see it, you'll have to head to the show floor in Vegas this week. However Jeep is committed to undertaking a production run of 50 examples with many of the same special touches to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Easter Jeep Safari next year.
