For sale is my 1980 Jeep CJ5. It has a Chevy 350 V8 with a 650cc 4 barrel carb, hedman headers, nice aluminum radiator, dual electric fans to keep it cool. It has an automatic 350turbo transmission, Dana 30 front axle, and an AMC 20 rear axle with a one piece Auburn Gear. 3:54 gearing. It also has all new brake rotors, drums, calipers, upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends, steering stem, rear brake lines, braided fuel lines, and a battery. It has painted frame and 35 inch tires. I also have a brand new bikini top this summer and a soft top and doors that are in ok condition- I have never put it on the Jeep since I've owned it. The transfer case has a gasket/seal that's leaking, it's not terrible or causing any issues it just bugs me personally, but I have a complete gasket/seal kit that comes included with the purchase. The heater and all of the wiring is there, just needs to be hooked up, the heater does work.
Everything listed above has less than 5k miles on it. The motor, transmission, front and rear axle have all been rebuilt and are in excellent shape mechanically. This Jeep is an awesome and super fast with the V8 that's in it. I drove all the way to Ohio to purchase this Jeep because everything around Michigan was pretty rusty when I was looking for a Jeep. It came with all the diamond plate on it- I have never taken it off so I'm not sure if there is rust underneath. Based on how nice the frame was I would assume there is very minimum rust, looking at the tub from the inside of the Jeep there are no rust spots coming through either. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I'm asking $6,000 OBO. If you have questions you can call or text Tyler at two48-eight81-six843 -- leave a voicemail if I don't answer or send me a message through eBay. |

2014 Jeep Cherokee gets official in a hurry
Fri, 22 Feb 2013Automakers work very, very hard to keep their new vehicles under wraps until they can present them in exactly the way they want it - typically choreographed under the bright lights of an auto show, or perhaps with photos or video in an idyllic location. Spy shooters and leaks, in other words, keep executives and public-relations types up at night.
This is likely to be one of the most polarizing designs to come out in 2014.
Take today, for instance, when the team over at Jalopnik got a big scoop - the first undisguised shots of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, a model whose name wasn't even officially confirmed yet. The clandestine images taken inside of a factory were blurry and didn't exactly show off the crossover's radical new contours in the same sort of flattering light that Jeep probably would've wished for its product reveal. So the Auburn Hills automaker has wisely reacted by spilling at least some of the beans on the new model, giving us these four photos and confirming the Liberty replacement's name, Cherokee.
2014 Jeep Cherokee marketing launches with 'Built Free' commercial
Mon, 28 Oct 2013Now that the 2014 Cherokee is finally on its way to dealerships, Jeep is starting its marketing blitz for its new crossover, beginning with this 60-second TV spot, called Built Free, that premieres today. Set to a Bob Dylan recording, the ad spot discusses something we can all relate to - the feeling of being too busy and too cooped up with everyday tasks to really get out there and explore the world. But as Jeep says in the commercial, "You're still here. And you're still you. The horizons haven't gone anywhere."
Autoblog spoke to Kim Adams-House, head of marketing for the Jeep brand, who explained that this Built Free spot is "an anthemic piece" that "sparks the conversation" for the new Cherokee. As you'll notice, none of the new Jeep's features - its off-road systems, nine-speed automatic transmission, etc. - are mentioned in the ad, but Adams-House says that future marketing "will speak to more" of the CUV's highlights. Following this 60-second spot, 30-second commercials will launch that talk about some of the specific product features.
When asked if the Built Free campaign will include any throwbacks to the original Cherokee, Adams-House told Autoblog that while "we love that vehicle," the new spots are intended to carve out "a unique space for Cherokee in our product portfolio and marketplace." On that same note, don't expect any other Jeep vehicles to get the Built Free treatment. Adams-House said that while this ad "does resonate overall with the brand," it is solely intended to promote the new Cherokee.
Watch this Jeep Willys return to its birthplace after 70 years
Sun, 23 Jun 2013Earlier this month, a very significant Jeep was celebrated at the Toledo North Assembly plant. No, it wasn't the upcoming reincarnation of the Jeep Cherokee, but instead it was a 1943 Willys MB that visited the Toledo grounds where it had been built exactly 70 years ago to the day.
Of course, the actual building where the MBs rolled off the assembly line before heading to Europe for World War II no longer exists, but that didn't stop Italian owner Vittorio Argento from having the vehicle shipped to the US to make its trek back to its birth place. According to Chrysler, Argento's MB is still 95-percent original and it drove 1,000 miles from New Jersey to Toledo.
The whole adventure was chronicled on a blog aptly named A Jeep Comes Home. Scroll down for a brief video from Chrysler and for some photos of the Toledo visit and be sure to read more at Argento's blog.
