1954 Jaguar Xk120 Ots Roadster -- Garage Find on 2040-cars
Brunswick, Georgia, United States

You
are bidding on a 1954 Jaguar XK120 OTS roadster.
HISTORY -- This car was purchased by a young man in the early
‘60s. In 1964 he was drafted into the US
Army, so he stored this car in his parents garage with the plan to get it back
out when he returned from his stint in the army. He was sent to
MECHANICAL – When I bought the car 2 years ago, the oil was
changed and we were able to get it running fairly easily by using an external
fuel source. The engine sounded good and
there was no smoke, although we didn’t run it for longer than a minute or so
because there was no coolant added. It
has not been started since that time.
BODY
– This is one of the most rust-free old cars I’ve ever seen. There is no rust in the frame, body, fenders,
fender wells, sills, bottoms of the doors, trunk, spare tire area, etc. The only rust I could find anywhere were a
couple very small holes behind the rocker panels in an obscure area. It doesn’t appear that the car has ever been
in an accident. When sighting along the
slab sides of the car, there are no ripples anywhere. It is as straight as an arrow. Everything fits up nicely too. The original color of the car was black with
red interior. There has never been any
attempt at a restoration on this car in the past. The current green paint was added in the
early ‘60s.
I
have the Heritage Certificate for the car which verifies that it is a complete,
numbers-matching car throughout, including the original engine, cylinder head, and
transmission.
I
purchased a complete set of interior for the car in the correct red color from
Heritage Jaguar interiors in
I
expect payment within 5 days of the end of the auction. The car can be picked up after your check has

Prince Harry drove Meghan Markle to their Royal Wedding reception in this electric Jaguar
Sat, May 19 2018Well over a billion people all over the world tuned in to watch the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle this morning, but now that it's all said and done, it's time to direct our attention to the car that the newly crowned Duke and Duchess of Sussex drove to their reception. The Jaguar E-Type Zero first debuted in September of 2017, but it's getting a whole heck of a lot more press today than it did then. Welcome to the Royal Family, Jag. Jaguar left as much of the original 1968 Series 1.5 E-Type in tact as possible while replacing the original inline-six engine with an electric motor and battery pack. Enough power is sent to the rear wheels to push this feline from 0-62 in just 5.5 seconds. That means it's quicker now than it was when new and chugging on gasoline. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. The E-Type Zero's range of 170 miles is way more than enough to whisk the happy couple away from Windsor Castle to Frogmore House on the Windsor Estate, where Harry's father, the Prince of Wales, is hosting their wedding reception. But if it were to run out of juice, its 40kWh battery can be recharged in under 7 hours. Want one of your own? The Daily Mail says it'll cost GBP350,000 (that's over $470,000 here in the States). Just don't expect a customized license plate to match the date of your wedding. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. 550-hp Jaguar F-Pace SVR revealed ahead of New York Auto Show
Wed, Mar 28 2018"I love this car." So said Jaguar designer Ian Callum, quite genuinely, as the Jaguar F-Pace SVR drove onto the stage at the company's new headquarters in Mahwah, N.J. Despite accepting and even embracing Jaguar's decision to produce SUVs, it's quite obvious (because he says so repeatedly) that Callum is still a guy with a lust for high-powered sports cars. The F-Pace SVR melds these two elements to create something he gleefully describes as "ridiculous." Boasting Jaguar Land Rover's now-familiar supercharged 5.0-liter V8, the SVR produces 550 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque. Jag estimates it'll hit 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 176 mph, which will make it one of the quickest and fastest SUVs on the road when it arrives in dealerships this summer. View 15 Photos It's not just the big engine, however. Upgraded mechanical improvements and enhancements include stiffer springs, wider and lighter forged alloy wheels (21- or 22 inches), bigger brakes (15.5-inch front, 15.6-inch rear), an electronic active rear differential, a variable active exhaust that's 14.5 pounds lighter than the standard one, and specially tuned software for the adaptive suspension, electric steering, eight-speed automatic, all-wheel drive and Dynamic Driving Mode. Callum's team also massaged the aerodynamics with larger air intakes, rear bumper side strakes, and fender vents that lower pressure in the wheel arches to reduce lift and increase cooling. A unique hood features vents designed to, well, vent hot air from the engine compartment. There are also wheel arch extensions and lower body moldings to create a more muscular appearance, while the rear sees fat quad tailpipes that one would assume should bark and burp like any good Jaguar SVR. Inside, there are thinner, light-weight sport seats done up in snazzy quilted leather. The rear seat also gets sportier seats with a similar fixed headrest design as those up front. The pistol-like sport gear selector shifter, as used in the Jaguar F-Type, replaces the standard rotary shifter design. It still takes up way too much room on the center console. Pricing starts at $80,985. One would assume Mr. Callum will gets his for less than that. Related Video:
Jaguar to offer high-performance SVR models like Land Rover?
Tue, 01 Jul 2014At the Goodwood Festival of Speed this past weekend, Land Rover previewed its upcoming performance version of the Range Rover Sport. Only instead of wearing the R-S badge that adorns the most hardcore of Jaguar models, the performance SUV from JLR's Special Operations unit introduced the letters SVR. And now, it seems that badge is here to stay.
Following the Range Rover Sport SVR, a new report from Motor Authority now says that Jaguar Land Rover will use those letters to distinguish the top-of-the-line performance models from both marques moving forward. As such, we might expect SVR models of the upcoming Jaguar XE compact sedan and Land Rover Discovery Sport, as well as potential new performance models based on the new F-Type and next-generation XF.
If accurate, the move would seem to separate Jaguar in particular from the R-S badge that has adorned performance models like the XFR-S and XKR-S. Both Audi and Porsche use the letters RS to distinguish its most hardcore models as well (e.g. Audi RS7 Sportback and Porsche 911 GT3 RS). Whether the similarity was a factor in shifting to the SVR moniker, we don't know, but either way, we welcome the arrival of a new generation of Jaguar and Land Rover performance models - especially if they pack the 575-horsepower version of the company's ubiquitous 5.0-liter supercharged V8. Not incidentally, that delicious powerplant gained a couple of new engine bays to call home at Goodwood as well - it's not just found in the forthcoming Range Rover Sport SVR, it's found a home in the F-Type Project 7, too.
