This is a very solid 1954 Jaguar Mark VII. This is not a rusted out vehicle. Has had an "Abbassi" foreign car conversion of California(do not know when but some time ago). Has a GM inline 6 cylinder with what appears to be a turbo 350 automatic transmission. Looks original. It Starts and runs very good. Engine sounds very good, has lots of power and has no leaks. The transmission also works very good and has no leaks. We drove this vehicle for 25 minutes to get some fresh fuel into system and check things out. We were very impressed how well it ran and handled. Brakes work okay but will need some attention. Body is very straight with exception to couple small dents on passenger side by trunk. Seats are good except the drivers seat is very brittle from age. It cracked when we test drove it. Back seat is not so brittle and pull down trays with mirrors are in tact and working. Sun roof opens and closes properly. Missing few pieces chrome, the top wood trim on passenger door, center piece for steering wheel, hood ornament and latch. There are several pieces in trunk such as rear window chrome, 1 side front window chrome, other trunk handle and lots other stuff like an a/c condenser(? silver cylinder with coils in it?) and other things. All glass is excellent and windows roll up and down. Doors open and shut properly. The buttons to open door compartments work and boxes are in doors. New tires. Wood dash is pretty rotten, car turns on with key and some dash lights work but the wood is pretty bad. No head liner. The wiring looks mostly original. Trunk is solid, and both gas tanks are still in it with sending units, but the right tank is only one being used. Lots of potential in this vehicle.Has California title, car is in Amarillo Texas. Drive on to trailer. Low reserve.

Watch 2 clay modelers build Jaguar E-Types out of plasticine
Tue, Jun 9 2020Ah, quarantine time. When put to good use, it can be a time of ingenuity and creativity — precious time given back to us, in a sense. So here are two chaps, Joe and Lucas, who work at JaguarÂ’s Design Studio, stuck at home, ready to make a couple classic E-Type models out of some plasticine. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. ItÂ’s not exactly an instructional video, since itÂ’s mostly sped-up time lapse footage with no instructional explainers. But itÂ’s meant to show us that anyone can do it. The tools they use to shape the plasticine are common household items: a rolling pin or similar cylindrical items — they use a can of hair spray — to roll out the material, a plastic spoon, potato peeler, a knife, cardboard, tinfoil and a glass of water to apply to the plasticine and make a smooth finish. As for plasticine itself, itÂ’s a modeling clay thatÂ’s similar to Play-doh except that it is oil-based, where the latter is made of flour and water. (If youÂ’re interested, hereÂ’s a video that shows you how to convert Play-doh into plasticine.) So weÂ’re shown how the designers shape the signature fender bulges, greenhouse, head- and taillights and wheels. But it frankly all goes by in a blur, and we suspect that most of us amateurs would be left with something that looks more like an undefined blog. Still, itÂ’s fun to watch. Built between 1961 and 1975, the E-Type two-seat roadster is considered one of the major icons of automotive design and part of the AUTObodies collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Jaguar Land Rover to cut workforce by 2,000 in push toward electric future
Thu, Feb 18 2021Jaguar Land Rover said on Wednesday it would cut 2,000 jobs from its global salaried workforce, just days after announcing its luxury Jaguar brand will be entirely electric by 2025 and e-models of its entire lineup will be launched by 2030. "The full review of the Jaguar Land Rover organization is already under way," the company said in an emailed statement. "We anticipate a net reduction of around 2,000 people from our global salaried workforce in the next financial year," it said. However, it added that the organizational review did not impact hourly paid, manufacturing employees. JLR, owned by India's Tata Motors, said earlier that its Land Rover brand will launch six fully electric models over the next five years, with the first in 2024. Known for its iconic, high-performance E-Type model in the 1960s and 1970s, Jaguar faces the same challenges as many other carmakers as it transitions to electric vehicles while trying to retain the feeling and power of a luxury combustion engine model. Last month, Tata Motors said it was concerned by semiconductor shortages and Brexit-related supply disruptions as its luxury car sales recover, although the Indian automaker added these had not yet hit production. Tata Motors posted three straight quarters of losses as the COVID-19 crisis dented sales, exacerbating uncertainties over Britain's exit from the European Union, weak demand and rising costs, but had bounced back to clock a profit in its third quarter to the end of December. The 2,000 reduction in JLR's non-factory jobs was reported earlier on Wednesday by Sky News.
