You are bidding on a very nice example of a 1995 Jaguar XJS V-12 2+2 Convertible! This V-12 runs exceptionally well, it starts and runs very smoothly just as they are famous for. The transmission shifts crisply and smoothly also. The color is metallic Union Jack blue and it was repainted in November 2009. The interior is in good to fair condition, it is a creamy beige and it is original. It has all of the extra equipment that was standard on this model. Power windows, power top, six way power seats, both driver and passenger. Air-conditioning, electric mirrors, power disc brakes, anti-loc brakes, etc. It has an upgraded sound system with a Kenwood AM/FM radio and trunk mounted CD player. The correct and current mileage is 73,839 The speedometer was replaced in June of 2010 when the original quit working at 69,840. It was replaced with a serviceable unit that read 39,172 it now shows 43,171 that is 3,999 miles since this speedometer was put in, add that to the 69,840 off of the original speedometer and the correct total mileage of this car currently is 73,839 This car has never had any accidents or major body repairs. The original blue German cloth top was just replaced to make this car as nice as possible for the next caretaker to enjoy. Summer is around the corner and this car is ready to enjoy those top down, wind in your hair summer day's. Those are all the good points, here are the few negative points! The drivers side hydraulic cylinder for the power top has a leaky shaft seal and probably needs replacing! It, however, still works perfectly. A new one is $189.00. Somebody in the past, used to strong of a cleaner on the aluminum wheels and they have some streaks in the clear coat. Not terrible, but noticeable. There you have it! This is a nice car, I have made the reserve low, so it will sell, so bid often and bid to win it! Any questions you may have, please feel free to call me! My best number is 949-458-5810

The Jaguar E-Type Lightweight is back on the prowl after a few decades away
Sun, 17 Aug 2014Sometimes procrastination has its benefits. Jaguar originally planned to build a run of 18 E-Type Lightweights for racing in the '60s. However, it was only ever to complete 12 of them. It has taken all of the intervening decades to finally get back to the project and build the final run of new Lightweights. While Jag announced the plan recently, the first continuation model was unveiled during the Pebble Beach weekend.
Coming from Jaguar Land Rover's Special Operations unit, these cars are identical to the way they left the factory in the '60s. Jag is even using the same grade of aluminum for the bodies, and the cars are fully compliant for FIA historic racing. Power comes from an aluminum, 3.8-liter inline-six with about 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque routed through a four-speed manual gearbox. Who could guess that in 2014 someone could buy a brand new vehicle from a major manufacturer that comes with Weber carbs? Though, Lucas mechanical fuel injection is an option.
While they look old, these new E-types are also a wonder of modern technology. To get things just right, the company laser scanned an original car to create the new bodies. Check out the gallery from the unveiling to see this old cat on the prowl again.
Jaguar returns to open-wheel racing with Formula E team [w/video]
Tue, Dec 15 2015One of the most legendary names in motor racing – Jaguar – is returning to the open-wheel racing, but not with an internal-combustion engine. The British company has confirmed its plans to enter the FIA Formula E Championship. Though the British automaker has revealed little in the way of concrete details, the team is set to join the electric grid for the third season starting next fall. Jaguar will team up with Williams as its technical partner, drawing on the relationship they established in developing the C-X75 hybrid hypercar concept and on Williams' considerable racing expertise. The F1 team founded by Frank Williams developed the battery system for the SRT_01E that all the teams are using currently. "Electric vehicles will absolutely play a role in Jaguar Land Rover's future product portfolio and Formula E will give us a unique opportunity to further our development of electrification technologies," said JLR's chief engineer Nick Rogers. "The Championship will enable us to engineer and test our advanced technologies under extreme performance conditions." The company recently showcased new battery propulsion technology and is said to be developing an electric crossover to be dubbed the Jaguar E-Pace. Jaguar won Le Mans five times in the 1950s and twice again in 1988 and '90, and racked up victories in touring cars in the early 80s. Most recently Jaguar Racing represented the company in Formula One until then-parent Ford sold the team to Red Bull in 2004 before divesting itself from the company altogether in 2007. Aside from the XKR GT3/GT2 that it furnished to privateer teams, Jaguar has not competed in any major racing series since. Jaguar joins Audi, Renault, and PSA Peugeot Citroen on the Formula E grid. The announcement coincides with the withdrawal from the series of the Trulli team. Former F1 driver Jarno Trulli took over the outfit from Drayson and is now relinquishing the slot back to the series organizers effective immediately, dropping the grid down to 9 teams and 18 cars until Jaguar takes its place next season.
