1995 Jaguar XJS 6.0L 308 horsepower V-12 2+2 convertible. It's 1 of only 362 V-12 convertibles made for the US in 1995 and this is the last year of their V-12 convertible. Classic black exterior with gray leather interior. Optional rear spoiler and optional Jaguar spoke wheels which are very rare. It's fully loaded with every available option and it is in immaculate condition. This is an auction set with no reserve price, therefore it will go to the highest bidder.
A great collector piece and is bound to be a very valuable classic. A perfect specimen of Geoff Lawson design which made Jaguar so popular and desirable. According to Knight Frank's Wealth Report, classic cars were the top-performing collectible asset with prices surging 23 percent in the 12 months ending in the third quarter of 2012, and posting gains of 395 percent over 10 years. This beautiful Jaguar has always been a California car and kept in a garage. Both the body and interior are in excellent condition. It does not have any mechanical problems, everything is in great working order! Both the engine and transmission are very smooth and powerful. I have a clean California title in hand, there is only 86,801 original miles on it. Some of the options include power and heated seats with memory positions, a factory six disc CD changer and cassette player with radio, remote keyless entry with alarm, automatic retractable power convertible top, working ice cold air conditioning, power and heated mirrors, woodgrain dash and interior, sports mode, chrome spoke wheels, passenger and driver air bags. I have all the original manuals and handbook, tools, jack and spare wheel. On the passenger side, the headlight cleaner nozzle top was missing. I have acquired that piece but it has to be installed. See pictures for more information. NO BIDDERS WITH 0 FEEDBACK PLEASE, YOUR BIDS WILL BE CANCELED. Buyer is responsible for pickup and or shipping. A $500 deposit is due 24 hours of auction end and the remainder must be satisfied via cash or certified cashiers check. The car must be pickup up within 7 days of auction end. Jaguar sculpture by RCA design students is a minimal beauty
Fri, 24 May 2013With its well-deserved reputation for high design, it is not particularly surprising to see Jaguar reaching outside of the automotive realm for future inspiration. To that end, the British automaker recently enlisted the talents of students at the Royal College of Art to create a piece of forward-looking, automotive-inspired sculpture.
The result of this project can be seen above; a sculpture created by RCA students Claire Miller and Ewan Gallimore, and unveiled to a small audience to kick off London's Clerkenwell Design Week. The spare and rather elegant form created by the talented pair absolutely harkens back to coupes from Jaguar's past as well as its present (read: F-Type) without aping any one model particularly.
In a press release, the artists had this to say about the work: "Our form relates to the Jaguar brand through its sculptural volumes, bespoke materials and visual lightness. These elements helped us to create a sculpture that aimed to display a seamless transition between interior and exterior space." Get a better look at the Jaguar artwork in the gallery above, or read through the press release, which follows.
Jaguar Classic heading to Le Mans with vintage racers
Wed, Feb 3 2016A grid full of vintage Jaguars will rumble into France in July to race in the Jaguar Classic Challenge during the Le Mans Classic. The event should give motorsport fans plenty to watch with a bevy of pre-1966 Jags on the famous circuit, including E-Types, XKs, C-Types, D-Types, and even the company's sedans. Jaguar launched the vintage racing series last year to build on the success of the popular E-type Challenge. It continues with a five-event calendar this season but swaps out a meeting at Brands Hatch to go to Le Mans – hard to argue with that change. The drivers also get to lap Donington Park, Silverstone, the Nurburgring, and Oulton Park. Le Mans is practically a home track for these classic Jags. The British automaker dominated the 24-hour race there in the 1950s, including overall victories in '51, '53, '55, '56, and '57. "Watching a diverse array of pre-1966 Jaguars racing on the iconic circuit, some of which even raced there in period, will surely be a sight not to be missed," Tim Hannig, Jaguar Land Rover Classic Director, said in the season announcement. Again, we find it hard to argue with that sentiment. The Le Mans Classic will be one of the major highlights of the forthcoming season that will see a diverse field of pre-1966 Jaguars going wheel-to-wheel in the competitive single-marque series. Jaguar has a long and successful history at Le Mans, with the marque first winning there back in 1951 with Peter Walker and Peter Whitehead driving the C-type - affectionately known as XKC 003. A one-two finish followed this in 1953 with the duo of Tony Rolt and Duncan Hamilton taking overall honours. Jaguar dominated Le Mans for three consecutive years in 1955, 1956 and 1957 in the D-type.
2014 Jaguar XJR is large, in charge
Wed, 27 Mar 2013There are few things in this world we love more than a huge, supersonic-feeling sedan, and Jaguar has just ripped the sheets off of its newest entry into that set of bruisers. The 2014 Jaguar XJR puts down a full 550 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque courtesy of a supercharged 5.0-liter V8. All that thrust lands on the rear tires through an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the big aluminum-chassis'd four door can sprint to 60 miles per hour in a skinny 4.4 seconds. Top speed sits at an electronically limited 174 mph, and Jaguar estimates the machine will still return up to 23 miles per gallon highway.
Do. Want.
The 2014 XJR also features stiffer spring and damper rates along with an electronically controlled rear differential. Of course, there are plenty of styling tweaks on hand to separate the most menacing XJ from the rest of the family. Those include new fascias, R emblems and massive 20-inch wheels outdoors as well as special seating and trim elements indoors. Asking price? That would Be $116,000 for the XJR and $119,000 for the long-wheelbase L version. Check out the full press blast below.
