Been looking for the perfect Father's Day gift?  You've found it!

You are bidding on what many would call the last of the true Jaguars; as in 1995 the cars were no longer produced by Jaguar LTD but by Ford Motor Co.

772 V-12 coupes were made in both right and left hand drive.  Of those, only 18 were shipped to the US.

This was also hands down the best year for this car.

In 1990 Jaguar went from being independently owned (after 25 years of terrible British-Leyland ownership) to being part of Ford Motor Company.  As a result, the problematic, mismatched and hard to replace electrical components became high-quality, standardized Ford Motor company parts.  So too for the mechanical parts.  Even today, many of the parts are still manufactured and readily available for a fraction of what BL and Independent era Jaguar LTD parts would cost.

The rear brakes were updated from inboard brake systems 'for unsprung weight' to a standard four wheel disc system.  Meaning that brake work only costs what normal brake work costs--instead of $3,000+ dollars like before.

In 1992 Jaguar moved from the 5.3L HE engine @ 282 hp  to a 6.0L HE @ 308 hp.  The transmission was updated to a GM 4L80E (used on several other GM cars, parts for which are still available) which included a 4th gear overdrive.  **when that kicks in, it's exciting!**

Here are some statistics:

308bhp: 87 horsepower higher than the lowest factory-horsepowered XJS, 10 horsepower less than the highest factory-horsepowered XJS
355 lb/ft: 106 lb/ft more than the least factory-torqued XJS, 7 lb/ft less than the most factory-torqued XJS
0-60  6.6sec: 2.7 seconds quicker than the slowest XJS and 1/10th of a second slower than the quickest XJS
Top Speed 161mph: highest of all XJS
As you can see from the photos, the vehicle is in remarkable shape both inside and out.
The floor mats and carpet are clean.
Leather is soft and supple.
A/C blows cold
No rust, no fiberglass, no bondo, no body work, ever.

Runs like a charm and man, will she get up and go.  This is the Jaguar you've always wanted.  Not the unreliable British Leyland Models, not the overpriced Ford built models, and not those now made by TATA Motors.

On May-18-13 at 13:12:47 PDT, seller added the following information:

PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND NOT MANUAL.  FOR SOME REASON, IT WAS AUTOFILLED AS BEING MANUAL AND EBAY WAS NOT ABLE TO CHANGE IT.  AGAIN, THIS IS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION XJS.  THANKS.

Jaguar XE to be built in China

Mon, Dec 29 2014

After a six-year absence, the Jaguar XE will return that most English of automotive companies to the compact premium segment, the brand's first whole-hearted launch into that market. For certain Western markets it begins production at the Land Rover plant in Solihull early next year, but it will also continue the brand's venture in to China having been chosen as the first Jaguar to be built there, according to a report in Automotive News. Jaguar-Land Rover owns a plant in Changshu, a joint venture with Chery Automobile, that started building the Range Rover Evoque this year and will add the Land Rover Discovery Sport. Previously, The Leaping Cat was selling cars built from kits at its factory in Pune, India. The brand figures to sell 20,000 cars in China next year, which would be less than a fifth of in-country sales for the JLR group, but the XE is the "spearhead vehicle" that "could make significant inroads" there, according to Jaguar. For comparison, Audi moved 120,450 A4s alone and BMW sold more than 100,000 3 Series models in China in 2013. Globally, Jaguar is predicted to sell 80,000 units this year. By 2017, after the release of the XE, new XF and coming crossover, plus factory expansions in China, Brazil and Saudi Arabia, it hopes to get that number up to 200,000 units; Forbes has a piece detailing why they think it's possible. The JLR group is shooting for a target of 850,000 units worldwide by 2020. Say goodbye to Jaguar's vestigial oval grille

Tue, 10 Dec 2013

Jaguar has been on a campaign to replace any and all retro cues with modern ones. Just look at the current XJ and the one it replaced, or the XF and the S-Type that came before it and you'll know what we mean. The one remnant is the XK and its oval grille, in and of itself a throwback to Jags of old (which started to look more like a certain Star Wars alien in above-pictured XKR-S form). But don't expect it to hang around.
Newer Jaguars have been ditching the oval aperture for a more squared-off one, and the next XK will have to fall in line. But don't expect that to be the only change in store for the next-generation Jaguar coupe and convertible.
With the new F-Type now holding the more enthusiast-oriented ground, the next XK is expected to grow bigger, softer and more luxurious. That will likely mean a more commodious back seat as well, though that shouldn't be hard to do considering the lack of space in the back of the current model...

Jaguar gets to work on next-gen XF sedan

Mon, 22 Sep 2014

With the XE now out in the open, Jaguar can begin to focus on what comes next. That means a new crossover, but also replacements for some of its aging current models - chief among them, the XF. Introduced back in 2007, Jaguar's mid-range sedan is growing a little long in the tooth. But from these latest spy shots, we can see that the British automaker is hard at work developing its successor.
Expected to be based on the same iQ A1 platform that underpins the new XE, the new XF promises to be lighter in weight and more advanced than the model it replaces. Look for most of the same engines to carry over, including gasoline and diesel options ranging from four cylinders to eight, with and without forced induction, with a potential plug-in hybrid version to follow. The current model is available in rear- and all-wheel-drive configurations and in sedan and wagon body styles, and we'd expect its replacement to follow suit.
The low-profile wheels and dual exhaust pipes on one of the prototypes spotted suggests it would lie somewhere near the top of the range, while the second prototype packs taller sidewalls and a trailer hitch. It's hard to discern much esle from the spy shots, heavily camouflaged as they are, but as with the technology underneath, we'd expect styling to takes some cues from the smaller XE as well. Jaguar will, of course, need to tread the line between distinctive and understated if it's going to fend off the Maserati Ghibli and take a bigger slice of the pie away from the likes of the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the Lexus GS and Infiniti Q70, the Cadillac CTS and the upcoming new Volvo S90.
