Jaguar XJS Coupe- This is a special car as only 30 coupes and
70 roadsters were imported with a factory installed 5-speed manual
transmission. Except for 1993 and 1994, Jaguar did not equip export vehicles
with manual transmissions. With a 4.0 liter engine and the manual transmission,
it is a great driving car. Overall condition is very good. I am a mechanic and I’ve owned this car for 10 years. I have
over $4800 in receipts for parts that have been installed, not to repair, but
to make it better. Suspension has been all redone with bronze racing rear
bushings as well as poly front bushings and rack bushings. I also have (which
is included, a new clutch kit $1200 in the original package, and new front seat
leathers $800 and new steering hoses. It does not need a clutch or steering
hoses, but I figured it would be a good idea to have them just in case. The car has two very small bubble areas in the paint that
would be pretty easy to fix, the headliner is brand new. The “ski slope wood”
on the console is brand new (bought for $350 NOS from Jaguar) The rear end has
been completely pulled from the car and the brakes have been done, including
emergency brake pads and new rear pinion seal installed. Transmission and differential has had Royal Purple Synthetic Gear oil since I’ve owned it, the engine is very strong and has had only synthetic since I’ve owned it. Don't be put off by the mileage, these cars run forever and it runs perfect. Everything has been done, complete front suspension rebuild, all brakes are new including the inboard rears, new wheels bearings, new gearbox seals and differential pinion seal, new injectors, new cooling fans, ANSA exhaust, new exhaust manifold gaskets, new power steering reservoir, ALL rubber mounts have been replaced as well. I was planning on keeping this car forever, since I’ve owned
4 XJS’s in the past and it took a long time to find a manual transmission car.
But I bought a new XK8 and this car just sits in a garage, which is just a
shame. All brakes are new, including front calipers, rear calipers
have been rebuilt. Clutch master and slave have been rebuilt with a new rubber
clutch line. This car needs nothing more than a new home…..a good home.

50th Anniversary Porsche 911 vs. Jaguar F-Type Coupe is a battle of beauty, brawn
Fri, 13 Jun 2014There can't really be a loser between the Jaguar F-Type Coupe R and the Porsche 911 50th Anniversary Edition. One might be better than the other, but if you're behind the wheel of either of them, you can't complain. In a new video, Motor Trend takes on the difficult task of determining which one of these European powerhouses is the best, not just in terms of raw performance, but also how they actually feel to drive.
The Porsche 911 is one of the perennial favorites of the motoring world. It just doesn't go away and always seems capable of challenging the top vehicles in its class. In this video, Motor Trend takes a look at the 50th Anniversary Edition model that celebrates that heritage while boosting power somewhat over the standard version.
The F-Type Coupe is an incredibly masculine car, MT describing it as "a British Corvette." The coupe's exterior lines are tautly stretched over its athletic body, and it's supercharged 5.0-liter V8 sounds like a demon's growl. Jaguar seems to have things right with its latest sports car.
2021 Jaguar F-Type is getting a major facelift
Fri, May 17 2019Having entered its seventh model year with only minor changes, it's no surprise that Jaguar is working on a more significant update of its F-Type sports car. Based on the spy photos of what is likely to be the 2021 Jaguar F-Type, it's getting a serious nose job. But interestingly, it also still appears to be closely related to the current model. Up front, the major change is in the headlight design. Instead of the vertical, swept-back units of the current car, the new one has low, horizontal lights. The lights are actually much more similar to Jaguar's more practical offerings such as the XE, XJ and F-Pace. The lights also have sharper angles that blend into cut lines and creases in the front end. The main grille doesn't look particularly different, but it will clearly be flanked by redesigned outboard grilles based on how well they're covered. The whole midsection seems to be carried over from the current model. This seems to kill the rumor that there would be a 2+2 F-Type. The tail end is pretty much the same, too, but the taillights lose the little round extensions inspired by the Jaguar E-Type. The wide-set tailpipes and big diffuser are like the V8-powered R model, so we expect that's what we're looking at. Since this F-Type looks to be mostly a styling overhaul, we expect most of the current powertrain lineup will transfer, too. That means a turbocharged four-cylinder for the entry-level models and a V8 for the top-rung cars. In the middle, though, the supercharged V6 may disappear in favor of Jaguar-Land Rover's new turbocharged inline-6. This seems plausible since Jaguar has already phased out the V6 on the XE, and the inline-6 is derived from the four-cylinder already in use, so it should fit relatively easily. Power should be right on par with the current car's 380-horsepower V6. In new Land Rovers, it makes between 355 and 396 horsepower depending on which version you get. We also assume all engines will still be coupled to an eight-speed automatic with no manual options in sight.
Tata to get Jaguar and Land Rover tech, platforms too?
Tue, 22 Jul 2014Since buying Jaguar Land Rover, Indian automaker Tata has generally left its luxury arm's platforms and technology alone. However, those days might be gone. The two of them are gradually growing closer with coordinated development and rumors of shared platforms. And it looks like all of that work and money is finally going to pay off with an actual vehicle in the near future.
According to Australian website Drive, Tata wants to make its cars more attractive to buyers outside of India, and to do that the company knows it must improve quality. The Indian company is being careful, though, because it doesn't want to dilute the Jaguar or Land Rover brands with cheap models. "You're going to see in the future a lot of sharing of technologies and platforms over time, but you won't see a JLR with a Tata badge on it," said Darren Bowler, managing director of Tata's Australian distributor, to Drive.
According to Bowler, these future vehicles are already on the way. Tata and JLR have a global platform in the works for 2017 that both companies could use for cars or crossovers. He also hinted that Jaguar's new Ingenium engines could be shared among the brands in the future, too.
