1987 Jaguar Xjsc V12 Nice Original Car Very Rare Targa Roof on 2040-cars
San Francisco, California, United States
This listing is for a very rare 1987 Jaguar XJSC. For those not familiar, the XJSC is a low production 2 seat targa / convertible. This Jag is red with a black interior and black top. The car was originally sold in Canada and the odometer is in kilometers. The vehicle has been in the US since 2002 and in California since 2009. and will be sold with a clean California title and current California smog. The current odometer reading is 60,100 kilometers (about 37k miles). I believe this to be the original mileage but have no way of knowing for sure. The vehicle will be sold "mileage exempt" (all cars over 10 years old sold in California are sold mileage exempt).
The Jag runs and drives well. The engine is strong and smooth and the transmission works like it should. The exterior of the car looks great. There are no dents or signs of rust. Paint looks nice with good shine. There may be a couple of very small paint blemishes, but the overall appearance is excellent. The top appears to be original and shows its age. It is fully functional and there are no tears, but the rear window is cloudy and the material is worn and discolored in some spots. The interior is very nice. The black leather looks great with no tears or signs of wear. Dash, door panels, and carpet are all in good shape. Negative issues: AC doesn't seem to be cold, oil pressure gauge doesn't work, and the radio recently stopped working. The car could probably use an alignment and the convertible top is worn. Overall this is a nice rare car that runs well. With a new top this car would be a "9" cosmetically. Winning bidder must pay a $500 non refundable deposit via paypal within 24 hours of the auctions end. The balance is payable in cash or certified funds within 1 week. Car must be picked up within 10 days. California buyers are responsible for registration ($130) and sales tax and will be issued title and registration in their name. Out of state buyers will receive a clean California title and be responsible for tax and registration in their state. Buyer is responsible for pickup/transport of the vehicle. |

Jaguar XE SV Project 8 now available for Nurburgring rides
Thu, Oct 25 2018There are a number of ways to experience the Nurburgring Nordschleife, including being driven around by a professional driver. Jaguar runs its own program that does just such a thing called the Race Taxi program. It just became even more appealing because Jaguar has added the XE SV Project 8 as one of the available cars. In case you had forgotten, it's a special car for the program because it currently holds the record for fastest production sedan at the track. Even without a record to its fame, the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is special for other reasons. It's the most powerful production Jaguar with 592 horsepower. That engine can propel it to 60 mph in a claimed 3.3 seconds. Most of the car's exterior is completely unique to the car. It's a rare machine, too, with only 300 sold. If you want to go for a ride, well first you have to get to the Nurburgring. But once you're there, hand Jaguar 199 euros, or about $227 at current exchange rates, and a driver will take you for a lap of the track. The company brags that you'll experience speeds of over 155 mph, and hit 1.8g in the steeply banked Karussell corner. You only get the one lap, but at least you know it will be a roughly 7 1/2 -minute thrill ride. If you can't get into the Project 8, you'll still be able to ride along in the 575-horsepower F-Type SVR or XJR575. Related Video:
Top Gear caught filming Best of British near Buckingham Palace
Mon, 24 Jun 2013YouTuber and car-fan extraordinaire Shmee probably had very little trouble tracking down the Top Gear film crew recently, as the group was putting together an episode that could accurately be described as "excessive." With its flag-waving (literally) Best of British theme, the TG guys gathered a jaw-dropping array of British cars, and parked them all right in front of Buckingham Palace to make extra sure that the point was driven home.
Top Gear hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May were outfitted with a trio of Jaguar F-Types festooned with gigantic Union Jacks, with which to survey the landscape of British motoring glory. In the video below, you'll see that this includes any number of Mini, Aston Martin, Lotus, McLaren, Land Rover, Bentley and Rolls-Royce models (just to name a few), as well as a healthy dose of weird stuff that most people would never guess at being built in the UK. The lawnmowers and military vehicles are especially cool.
Jaguar Land Rover says key models in short supply, some have six-month wait lists
Fri, 08 Aug 2014Care for a bit more proof that the Jaguar Land Rover portfolio of vehicles is the best it's ever been? Well, the Indian-owned pair of brands saw a record year in 2013, while 2014 has seen a 14-percent increase in sales. The crazy thing is, though, is that figure could be even higher, provided the company had the production capacity.
JLR is running a six-month waiting list on two of its most popular models, the Range Rover Sport (above) and Range Rover. According to Mark White, the company's chief technologist for body engineering, the blame can be placed on the paint shop at the company's Solihull factory, in the UK.
"We will probably max out the paint shop before we max out the body shop. Putting the second body shop in has given us the flexibility to ebb and flow the different models that go through there and meet the capacity demands we've got," White told Automotive News. "However, you always hit a bottleneck somewhere. And the paint shop is probably going to be the next biggest obstacle."
