A few tiny paint chips on the front as expected and some small pits in the chrome wheels that you can see if you get real close as expected. The plastic air deflector under the engine that gets removed for oil changes has some defects but only the dealer mechanic will ever know that. Interior was just professionally detailed and leather restored for sale and looks amazing!"

I bought this remarkable Super V8 new for $93,000 and have loved every minute of owning her. You simply will not find another Super V8 this beautiful. The 390HP supercharged engine really fires the lightened aluminum body off the line. It is a large luxury sedan, it drives like a much smaller sports car.

While you're getting ogled as a driver, your rear seat passengers will enjoy limousine-like luxury. The rear seats recline and are heated with independent temperature controls. There is a rear console for them to control the stereo, DVD system and gaming input. The right rear seat can even control the front passenger seat. Mom will want you to turn this feature off the first time the kids start messing with her seat. The switch to turn off that feature is on the drivers arm rest. The folding rear trays are like really nice airplane trays-adorned with the beautiful black walnut burl wood. Those rear seat guests or kids will feel like celebrities cruising in this super car as you raise the electronically controlled rear shade. They can pull up the rear side window shades too.

Super V8's are rare as they were expensive and hard to find. I get 24mpg on the highway and 20mpg general purpose miles. I have meticulously maintained my car in a heated garage while I drive her on my 50 mile daily commute. She is most fun on extended road trips however. Despite her mileage, she has many, many good miles and years in her. Your friends will think you paid a ton more than you'll have to to own this wonderful car. There is nothing wrong with her at all. It's like shoes, women and underwear...sometimes you just need a change (sorry about the women comment, honey. Just trying to be funny).

I have this car for sale locally. You can look at, inspect and test drive near Madison, WI before bidding but please bid if you're interested or it may sell locally from under your feet and you'll be seriously sorry to have missed out on this exceptional luxury sports sedan.

Jaguar turns down offers to join V8 Supercars, questions AMG, Volvo participation

Thu, 27 Jun 2013

Rumors have swirled in recent weeks that Jaguar may be the next manufacturer to join the V8 Supercars racing series, made popular in Australia but now well-known in other parts of the world as well. Sadly, Jag's participation is not to be. In fact, it would be "insane," according to Jaguar Land Rover Asia Pacific Managing Director David Blackhall, for it to accept either of the two offers it has received to bring Jaguar into V8 Supercars.
Not only is Jaguar not interested in entering V8 Supercars, says Blackhall, it also fails to understand the recent entries from AMG and Volvo. "I don't know what it does for AMG to get flogged by a V8 Commodore week after week, but it's their brand, their issue. And the same thing will happen to Volvo to be honest."
Judging by Blackhall's statements to motoring.com.au, after not-so-serious consideration, the automaker decided the monetary commitment it would take to compete for wins would be more than any potential exposure would be worth, despite the fact that Jaguar has a 5.0-liter V8 to go along with what would seem to be a tailor-made rear-wheel-drive chassis. For what it's worth, one offer would have had Jaguar putting its name across an engine made by someone else, an option that was flatly turned down.

Jaguar Land Rover to badge vehicles based on horsepower

Wed, Sep 27 2017

Add Jaguar and Land Rover to the list of automakers changing their nomenclature due to the realities of engine downsizing. Spy photos of an unreleased Jaguar F-Type model show a badge reading P380 AWD. The letter P evidently refers to Petrol (British for gasoline), and 380 is the engine's horsepower. According to Auto Express, the entry-level F-Type will be badged P300, indicating the power output of its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Land Rover is expected to follow suit with the new badging nomenclature. Diesel models will get a D instead of a P, while electric and hybrid models will get an E badge, along with a number corresponding to total system power. So, expect the I-Pace to sport an E400 badge on its hind end. One question we have, though, is how the disparity between mechanical, metric and imperial horsepower will be dealt with. While such power-specific badges are arguably unnecessary, we expect the trend to proliferate as engines continue to get smaller but turbocharging and electrification keep horsepower climbing. At least JLR's badges are easier to understand than the messy way Audi plans to rename its models or the way BMW completely dismisses actual engine size in its naming convention. 2019 Jaguar XJ50 is a supercharged birthday present

Wed, Apr 25 2018

Jaguar is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its elegant luxury sedan, the XJ, with a stylish and supercharged new model called the XJ50. This nod to eight generations of XJ comes in long-wheelbase format and is powered by either a 340-horsepower supercharged V6, or snarling 470-hp supercharged V8. While the V6 model is available with a choice of rear- or all-wheel drive, the more powerful V8 is offered only in rear-wheel drive form. Revealed for the first time at the 2018 Beijing Motor Show, the XJ50 is visually separated by the standard XJ sedan by having unique front and rear bumpers, a gloss black grille, special badges on the side vents, along with 20-inch alloy wheels with a gloss black diamond turned finish. Four colors will be available: Rosello Red, Santorini Black, Fuji White, and Loire Blue. How something along the lines of British Racing Green didn't make the cut remains a marketing mystery, however. This content is hosted by a third party. The XJ50 cabin is fitted with unique touches like an XJ50 logo on the front center armrest, illuminated XJ50-branded treadplates, diamond-quilted seats with the Jaguar leaper logo on the headrests, along with metal pedals and aluminum shift paddles mounted on the steering wheel. "This is a car worth celebrating and the XJ50 pays homage to a giant within the Jaguar brand that we believe is one of the world's most stylish sporting saloons," said Ian Callum, Jaguar Director of Design. While only the most jaded automotive Grinch wouldn't enjoy a birthday celebration -- really, who doesn't like cake with their illuminated treadplates(?) -- there's a sense the XJ50 marks the end of the road for the brand's long-serving luxury sedan. Rumors persist that the XJ will soon migrate to an all-electric platform, to compete directly against cars like the Tesla Model S and upcoming Porsche Mission E. Jaguar did not release an exact price of the 2019 XJ50, though a long-wheelbase XJ with the 340-hp V6 and rear-wheel drive carries a starting price of approximately $84,500.Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
