The 2021 Jaguar F-Type Heritage 60 Edition is fast, exclusive and classically green
Wed, Dec 9 2020The original Jaguar E-Type turns 60 years old next March, and to celebrate, Jaguar is building a limited run of a special F-Type. It's awkwardly called the 2021 Jaguar F-Type Heritage 60 Edition, but it's otherwise a subtle, classy example of the sports car. One of the most noteworthy aspects is that soft green hue. It's Sherwood Green, which was a color offered on the original E-Type, but hasn't been available since the 1960s. It's the only color offered here, and won't be available on other F-Types. Black and aluminum trim accents dot the outside, and they're paired with machine-finish forged wheels. The interior features a light brown and black leather interior, and there are special logos placed throughout. That logo also happens to be shared with the restored Jaguar E-Type Heritage 60 Collection cars. The center stack gets a unique aluminum trim that's patterned to match the back of an E-Type's rearview mirror. The F-Type Heritage 60 Edition is only available in F-Type R specification. That means it gets a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 making 575 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Power goes through an eight-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels. Buyers do get the choice of either coupe or convertible, though. Only 60 examples of the mean green cat will be built worldwide. Pricing hasn't been announced, but it should be a good bit more than the roughly $104,000 of a base F-Type R. Related Video:
Jaguar planning two bodystyles for next XJ
Wed, 17 Apr 2013As we alluded to in today's F-Type first drive, Jaguar hasn't been selling its wares in China for very long, and as a result, buyers there usually don't have the same appreciation for the brand's history. So you might reasonably think that the company's recent radical styling shift (kicked off by the 2008 XF) wouldn't be as jarring to the nation's buying populace since they really didn't have the automaker's more traditionally styled models from years past to compare them against.
Yet while Jaguar and its sister marque, Land Rover, continue to pick up steam in China's developing market, that apparently isn't necessarily the case. Local buyers there tend to have more conservative tastes when it comes to styling, preferring more upright dimensions, big back seats and larger quantities of traditional luxury materials (think: chrome and wood) than other markets currently find desirable. Thus, the very bold current-generation XJ sedan may be leaving some sales on the table.
According to Edmunds, Jag doesn't want to risk that, and as such, it is preparing two bodystyles for the next-generation XJ - one with the rakish coupe-like styling of the current model, and a more "old-school" three-box sedan designed to appeal to a wider swath of Chinese buyers.
2021 Jaguar F-Pace spied getting ready for a significant update
Tue, Dec 3 2019The Jaguar F-Pace is still relatively new to the world — started as a 2017 model year car — but it looks like an update is on the way. These spy shots preview a few new design and styling details coming to the companyÂ’s luxury crossover. Its shape remains the same, but Jaguar appears to be honing the finer points. Jaguar has taken the liberty of covering up the front bumper to a great extent. Look out for a redesigned front grille (probably larger than today) and reshaped front lower air intakes. The headlights might be getting a makeover to fit the new face better, but itÂ’s tough to tell how different they may be with all the camo surrounding them. This F-Pace is similarly disguised out back with a full form-fitting cover. We can see the LED taillights poking through, and the design may be a bit different than how it looks today. With so much camouflage itÂ’s tough to know for sure, but the lights look slimmed down and generally smaller. One of the two F-Paces spied here has visible exhaust tips extending beyond the bumper. ItÂ’s tough to say what the rear valance and exhaust design will look like in final production form, but the rear aesthetic is definitely going to be different. There are no interior photos, but our spy shooters report seeing a fully covered interior. This could indicate some new design elements and updated tech. WeÂ’ll expect both of those things when the mildly updated F-Pace is ultimately revealed. Look out for a launch soon, possibly as a 2021 model year vehicle.
