This is a NO RESERVE listing.

This is my 1984 Jaguar XJ6 sedan.  This is a dry ARIZONA car which has never seen midwest salt or snow.

This is probably one of the cleanest, best-preserved Series III Jaguars you will find for sale.

I have a soft spot in my heart for these beautiful Series III XJ6 cars.  These are the prettiest and most modern of all antique cars, in my opinion.  It has beautiful timeless looks, old-world charm and construction, and modern chassis and driving dynamics.  This car has all the space of a full-size sedan, yet it drives nimbly like a sports car.  The luxuries and features are impressive, yet the car is economical to drive and parts are readily available.

This Jag has the following equipment and options:
  • 4.2L DOHC XK fuel-injected Inline-6 engine
  • automatic transmission
  • automatic climate control with A/C
  • power sunroof
  • cruise control
  • AM/FM/CD player
This is a clean, quiet, comfortable, great-driving, reliable example of the classic Jaguar sedan.  I don't know where you would find a better example that someone wasn't asking a fortune for.

The paint is in very good condition and the car shines beautifully.  This paint is gorgeous and the body is straight, clean and totally solid.  As mentioned, this is a rust-free Arizona car that hasn't been exposed to salt or snow.  This car is clean and looks beautiful- be prepared to answer questions about the car every time you fill up with gas.  People love this car!

The interior of this Jag is in great condition.  The carpets have been covered with fitted floor mats literally since new. I only took the floor mats out to take the pictures. Consequently, the carpets show basically no wear- it is hard to believe how excellent these carpets are.  The floor mats are included (not pictured). The seats were reupholstered years ago and have held up quite well.  The interior is clean and superbly well-kept for the age.

This car runs and drives very well.  This car drives exceptionally nicely.  The engine is smooth and powerful with no ticks, clatter or abnormal noises. The engine makes great power and doesn't smoke or hesitate. The transmission shifts well.  The driving dynamics are excellent- this car handles outstandingly well, with no suspension noises or clunks and a tight, controlled ride.  The brakes stop well and the steering is tight and precise.  You cannot imagine how well this car drives for a 30-year old car.

The sunroof works perfectly, all the gauges work and the power mirrors work properly. The car does not overheat.

There are no known mechanical problems and this car is a dependable, reliable cruiser.  I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere, including a long trip.

This car is a 1984 and as such it is not brand new. I am not trying to present this as a perfect 100-pt car, but rather as a very clean, very presentable, reliable car you can drive and enjoy. Please expect normal issues of wear and tear consistent with the age of the car.  Here is a full list of known defects, no matter how small: The cruise control doesn't work. There are small exterior faults and flaws such as small scratches, light dings, chips, marks, etc. There are cracks in the vinyl trim around the shifter bezel and center console. There are a few oil drips on the garage floor. When I was wiping down the interior for the photos yesterday, I accidentally locked the right rear door and now I can't get it unlocked or back open. The power window on that door also doesn't work; the other three do. When starting the car cold or if it has been sitting a while, it works best to let the electric fuel pump run for 20 seconds or so before starting. The trip computer doesn't seem to be displaying properly. The metal clip which holds the center cap "Growler" emblem on the right front wheel is broken. The passenger sun visor is missing. The power antenna stays up. The wipers work slowly or sometimes not at all. The right front tire was replaced recently and it is a slightly smaller size- that's the only tire the shop had in stock. There is a fabric cover on the dash, which has a few cracks. There is a split in one seam at the outside edge of the rear seat. I have tried to be as comprehensive as possible in noting flaws and faults.

You can fly in to Cleveland (CLE) and drive this car home. Alternatively you can have the car shipped- please call Angels Moving Autos at 530-245-0481 for a shipping quote.

Jaguar E-Type Series 3 gets tasteful upgrades thanks to E-Type UK

Thu, Aug 2 2018

The Jaguar E-Type is one of the most important and recognizable cars of all time. The E-Type — also called the XK-E here in the U.S. — was in production from 1961 until 1975. That said, when most people think of E-Types, they think of the early Series I cars. The later ones (especially federalized models with those horrendous bumpers) don't get much love. E-Type UK, a restoration shop in England, is giving those Series 3 models a second life. The car in these photos is a 1974 Jaguar E-Type V12. This Series 3 underwent a 3,000-hour restoration, getting a number of upgrades along the way. The engine — originally displacing 5.3 liters — has been enlarged to 6.1 liters. It ditched the original Stromberg carbs for a custom downdraft fuel-injection system. Just take a look at those velocity stacks. The car has also been fitted with a custom stainless-steel exhaust system. Power is sent to the rear through a new close-ratio five-speed manual transmission. E-Type UK says it now makes 284 horsepower at the wheels. Other upgrades include a new steering rack, adjustable suspension with new torsion bars, AP Racing brakes with four-piston calipers and ventilated rotors and custom one-off 62 spoke 16-inch Turino wire wheels wrapped in whitewall tires. New louvres and air ducts were added to help cooling. All external lighting has been upgraded to LEDs, including the daytime-running lights. Inside, the E-Type has been fitted with air conditioning, modified heated leather seats from an XJS, iPod and Bluetooth connectivity, piano black trim and a red start button. The interior, including the factory hardtop, has also been fitted with Dynamat to reduce road noise. The car even has remote door locks. E-Type UK didn't post the price for this car, but a similar S3 E-Type is listed for GBP190,000, or about $250,000. If Series 3 or V12-powered cars aren't your thing, the website has a few listings for Series 1 cars with the classic inline-six. There's even an XK120 under the "sold" listings. Related Video:

Can a Jaguar XKR-S be drifted while blindfolded?

Thu, 27 Dec 2012

Bring together a 550-horsepower Jaguar XKR-S and a rain-soaked skidpad, and it's almost impossible to not end up in a sideways drift... accidental or on purpose. With that in mind, the gang over at Autocar got a hold of the monstrous XKR-S for the latest installment of "Will it Drift?," only they raised the stakes a little by attempting the feat with a blindfolded driver
We've driven the XKR-S a number of times here at Autoblog (including a First Drive, Review and Quick Spin), so we weren't at all surprised to learn that blind drifting in the car is possible. But what is remarkable is the ease at which it happened. This, of course, can be credited as much to the car as to the driver, Steve Sutcliffe. Check out the impressive video for yourself, which is posted after the jump.

2018 Jaguar XJ stars in 'Game of Drones'

Mon, Sep 18 2017

Looking for a fun way to put the its 2018 XJ in the spotlight, Jaguar turned to a fresh form of racing. The automaker placed three of the long-wheelbase XJL models in a studio, and surrounded them with illuminated, door-shaped gates. Then Jaguar brought in a pair of professional drone racers to compete in the glowing circuit, which includes pass-through of the rear of the XJL cabins. The drone pilots, donning VR headsets, sat in the rear of the 575-horsepower version of the XJL, the Jaguar XJR575, and launched the drones from the trunk of the car. They raced the drones through the gates and through the cars at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. "The course was a great test, but the fact we were able to go at such speeds proves how much space the doors of the Jaguar XJL gave us," said the winning drone pilot, Brett Collis. "Despite having to fly through the cabin, we were still pushing the drones to their top speeds." The "Game of Drones," as Jaguar dubbed the race, took place at Alexandra Palace in London, but the automaker is bringing similar experiences to more locations. Jaguar plans to go on an "Art of Performance Tour," where it will bring drone and Smart Cone driving challenges to the public, free of charge.
