1974 Jaguar Xj12l on 2040-cars
Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, United States

Up for auction is my 1974 Jaguar XJ12L that I have owned for about 25 years. It was a Florida car. It has the V12 with 4 carburetors. The car has been repainted in the original sable brown and has a newer biscuit interior with cinnamon original type wool carpet. The bumpers were replaced with NOS ones that I purchased not long after I bought the car. It has the very rare right side door mirror. The dash has been replaced with a dark burled wood and is in perfect condition. All gauges and switches work. The radio in the pictures has been replaced with a CD player. I had not driven the car in several years, so last year I replaced all of the calipers, pads, rotors, and emergency brake cable. A new exhaust was installed at that time. At that time a noticed a slight, intermittent ticking sound coming from under the car. The noise would come and go and went away completely when warmed up. Since my last listing on ebay, and after much searching, I finally found the cause; the flex plate (flywheel) has two small cracks in it. This, of course has caused me to re-evaluate my reserve price, since repairs will be needed. The engine runs beautifully, and the car drives very well, with no side effects from the flex plate problem. I have no idea of how long it has been like this, but I don't remember the ticking being there when the car was stored.
As you can see from the pictures, everything else is in great condition. It's not a 100 pt show car, but extremely presentable in its present state. These are getting quite rare in their original state; many gave up their engines for XKE replacements and many became V8 conversions because the drivers didn't realize that it takes a little time to warm up 12 quarts of oil before punching the engine hard. I'm selling to fund other restoration projects. Please feel free to ask any questions, I will do my best to give you an honest answer. No warranty, buyer must deposit $500 within 48 hours of auction close. Pick up only near Fond du Lac, WI. I can help with loading. Thanks for looking. |

Jaguar I-Pace EV will finally be revealed, available to order March 1
Wed, Jan 31 2018It sure feels like the Jaguar I-Pace electric car concept was revealed longer ago than November 2016. That might be because in addition to running barely camouflaged production models around for months, the company has even announced a one-make race series with the car before we've seen the revealed production model. But the wait is almost over. The company finally announced a reveal date of March 1. This comes just before the Geneva Motor Show, and the debut will be shown on a livestream. Not only that, but Jaguar will be taking orders for the EV the same day. Reveal and order dates weren't the only things Jaguar announced regarding the I-Pace. The company also said the I-Pace will be able to get an 80 percent charge from a DC fast charger in just 45 minutes. This charge time necessitates a 100-kW fast charger, though, so that time may vary in real life based on what chargers are available. This is also greater charging capability than Jaguar claimed when the concept was revealed, which promised an 80 percent charge in two hours on a 50-kW fast charger. Jaguar hasn't revealed many other details about the production car yet. When the concept was shown, Jaguar claimed it made 400 horsepower and had a range of 220 miles. The prototypes we've seen on the road also look extremely similar to the concept, so there shouldn't be much, if any, disappointment in the styling department when it's revealed. Related Video:
Lister teases 675-hp, 200-mph Stealth SUV
Thu, Apr 16 2020In the middle of 2018, Lister unveiled what was then called the LFP, intended to be the world's fastest SUV. The initials stood for Lister F-Pace and the dark green hulking beauty was based on, surprise, the Jaguar F-Pace SVR. Except where the F-Pace SVR used a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 producing 550-horsepower to claim a 176-mile-per-hour top speed, the LFP would wring that engine out to 675 horsepower in order to hit 200 miles per hour. Since that time, Lister's rolled out other models such as the F-Type convertible-based LFT-C 666 and Knobbly roadster continuation cars. At last, the LFP is ready for primetime, and it brings the new name of Lister Stealth with it. According to CEO Lawrence Whittaker, all the firm is waiting on is for the UK's lockdown to end, then the high-rise double-ton party can start. For now, we have a teaser video with a few quick visuals of the dangerously aggressive bodywork and a microphone-melting clip of someone dancing on the throttle. Save for the audio distortion, it looks and sounds superb. The ingredients of the transformation from F-Pace SVR to Stealth remain secret. As Pistonheads pointed out, the 675-hp Lister Thunder, based on the F-Type SVR hardtop, installed a new supercharger pulley, air filter and intercooler, a freer exhaust, and a remapped ECU to unlock 100 more horses. It's reasonable to expect the same template as a starting point for the Stealth. If the crossover can hit its 3.5-second mark from zero to 62-miles per hour, it will beat everything we can think of that isn't a Tesla, and the Stealth will top all comers if it nails the promoted top speed. Whittaker said production stops at 250 units, with orders having already come in. The price starts at "around GBP140,000," equal to about $175,000 greenbacks. Tiff Needell, who raced Lister cars in the 1990s, has been lined up for video presentation work once the proper launch takes place. If we're lucky, Needell will be the one to show and tell us what the Stealth can do, occasionally sideways, with lots of smoke. Related Video:
Jaguar launches the new E-Pace into a barrel roll | Autoblog Minute
Fri, Jul 14 2017After months of testing – some of which we caught in spy photos – and a little teasing, Jaguar has officially entered the compact crossover space with the launch of the 2018 E-Pace. And it was a fairly grand entry, too.
