Jaguar F-Pace runs support at Tour de France

Jaguar is going back to the Tour de France. The British automaker will once again support Team Sky in its latest campaign for cycling's biggest prize by loaning out an F-Pace prototype that will run during the brutal first stage of this year's event. This marks our first genuine look at the production sheetmetal, which is lightly obscured by the Team Sky/Jaguar camouflage. Sporting a black theme, it features blue accents, carbon fiber, rubber, and chain elements reminiscent of a racing bike. Outside of that, it looks a lot like C-X17 Concept that previewed the F-Pace. Like the F-Type that was used by Team Sky in last year's race, the F-Pace will carry the team's director and a driver. They'll be joined this year by a mechanic and the team's physician, while the large trunk will house sports drinks, clothing for the riders, and spare parts for their bikes. "We are delighted to be supporting Team Sky again at such a prestigious sporting event and are excited at the prospect of the F-Pace being seen in action in public for the first time," Kevin Stride, the CUV's line director, said in the attached statement. Jaguar Land Rover proposes seats that scientifically massage your butt, for your health

Habitually sitting too long can degrade a person's health. Scientific research has proven that dormancy can increase the risk of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, deep-vein thrombosis, and metabolic syndrome, according to the Harvard Medical School. Although sitting can be avoided in many cases, such as using a standing desk at work, taking a seat is the only option when hopping in the car for a drive. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is hoping to address this negative aspect of cars with a new high-tech seat that the company says mimics the act of walking.  JLR calls the concept a shape-shifting, or morphable, seat system, and it is currently in a trial period with Jaguar Land Rover’s Body Interiors Research division. Using actuators built into the seat's foam, the seat will constantly be in motion with micro-adjustments that can be tuned to the needs of different people and body types. JLR believes it has created a system that recreates what is known as pelvic oscillation, a motion that can supposedly trick the brain into thinking the body is walking. In addition to helping to prevent internal health issues, JLR also notes that a sedentary lifestyle can degrade and shorten muscles in the legs, hips, and rear. If these muscles are worked on a regular basis, the chance and risk of injury and back issues could potentially be reduced. The new seats are just one of many car interior technologies JLR has explored. In the past, we've seen tech that tracks brainwaves and heart rates, creates augmented reality, helps prevent motion sickness, and helps stop the spread of germs. They've also taken the time to have an expert demonstrate the perfect seating position. Most of this stuff is experimental for now, but it's possible similar features could eventually trickle down to production cars, in time. See how the seat moves in the video below. 2021 Jaguar F-Pace spied getting ready for a significant update

The Jaguar F-Pace is still relatively new to the world — started as a 2017 model year car — but it looks like an update is on the way. These spy shots preview a few new design and styling details coming to the companyÂ’s luxury crossover. Its shape remains the same, but Jaguar appears to be honing the finer points. Jaguar has taken the liberty of covering up the front bumper to a great extent. Look out for a redesigned front grille (probably larger than today) and reshaped front lower air intakes. The headlights might be getting a makeover to fit the new face better, but itÂ’s tough to tell how different they may be with all the camo surrounding them. This F-Pace is similarly disguised out back with a full form-fitting cover. We can see the LED taillights poking through, and the design may be a bit different than how it looks today. With so much camouflage itÂ’s tough to know for sure, but the lights look slimmed down and generally smaller. One of the two F-Paces spied here has visible exhaust tips extending beyond the bumper. ItÂ’s tough to say what the rear valance and exhaust design will look like in final production form, but the rear aesthetic is definitely going to be different. There are no interior photos, but our spy shooters report seeing a fully covered interior. This could indicate some new design elements and updated tech. WeÂ’ll expect both of those things when the mildly updated F-Pace is ultimately revealed. Look out for a launch soon, possibly as a 2021 model year vehicle.
