I will spare everyone the "E-Type history lesson" and confine the comments to THIS E-type !
I did so much to this car that remembering everything is a challenge!
I bought this car in 1996 as a "box of parts" (may parts were missing). This was an abandoned restoration from I think the early 1980's. From 1997 to 2002 I restored the car to driving condition. I have the receipts ( a 2" thick file) many pics and a log of the body welding progress. I am selling the car because I no longer have the time and I do not want the car to sit, I would rather see it go to "a good home".
I did the major body welding and assembly.Effectively replacing the lower 3" of the body. Replaced parts include, left and right floors, outer sills, complete trunk floor, front fenders, front under pan, lower fire wall, both doors.
All small parts were sand blasted and cleaned.
The engine, clutch, rear suspension, drive shaft, steering rack, master cylinders (stainless steel sleeved) were rebuilt "as new" by a Jaguar specialists. The gearbox was cleaned, inspected and resealed by the same specialist.
There has been 7100 miles driven since restoration.
The final fit and painting was done by a professional restoration shop.
The following was replaced.
All wiring, Gas tank, all electrical items (except 4 small gauges, toggle switches and tach)
The speedometer was rebuilt.
Many of the chrome items were restored.(bumpers, windscreen chrome, drip channel chrome, tail lights, upper door chrome)
Upgrades include.
Dayton 6" wire wheels, Perelli P4000 tires.
Uprated tortion bars.
Stainless Steel exhaust and headers.
Gear reduction starter.
Pertronics distributor.
Upgraded alternator.
Upgraded cooling fan.
Spin on oil filter (still have the original assy)
Stainless front brake cylinders.
Stainless flex hoses.
Stainless sleeved master cylinders.
15" upgraded steering wheel..
Adjustable tortion bar tie plate.
The interior is OK but should be worked on.
I have the uninstalled upper door chrome.
The only mechanical issues are the roll up windows need adjustment and repair, and the rear window demist dose not work.
There is a 6" scratch between the left front wheel and headlight.
The back seat does not swing forward. (I have a dissembled upper rear seat with the swing mech.)
I have some extra interior parts, window regulators,
I is easier to think of what I did NOT replace/rebuild !
Car is sold "as is" no warranty.
Since the car is shown locally, the auction may be ended early.
The car can be seen at my business M-F 11-8 S 9:30-8 Sunday 10-5., contact me for directions.

Jaguar Land Rover opens first overseas factory in China
Wed, 22 Oct 2014Anyone who's a car fan knows that Jaguar and Land Rover cars and trucks all come from the UK. And while we don't doubt that will remain true for the most part, it won't be an absolute truth for long, as the British automaker has just opened its first factory overseas.
Its new plant in Changshu, China, is the result of a $1.8-billion joint venture between JLR and local automaker Chery. It covers some 4.3-million square feet and will, once at peak capacity, produce 130,000 units specifically for the Chinese market, where JLR sells over 100,000 vehicles each year to make it the company's single largest market worldwide.
Production at what's officially known as the Chery Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Company will start with the Evoque, of which one in five globally are currently sold in China. Production will eventually encompass three models. We already know that the Discovery Sport will be next, but the third model line has yet to be announced. JLR has confirmed, however, that the Changshu plant will produce unique models and derivatives specifically for the Chinese market, so we wouldn't be surprised to see a long-wheelbase version of the forthcoming XE or next-generation XF assembled there to satisfy local tastes.
Wacky Jaguar crossover mule is a mind-blowing mashup
Tue, 03 Dec 2013As Jaguar prepares to introduce its first-ever utility vehicle, our spy shooters have captured this jacked-up XF mule out testing. While a production Jaguar crossover will surely resemble something closer to the recent C-X17 Concept, we can't help but think that the automaker could sell at least a few of these lifted, four-wheel-drive sedans.
Other than proving that Jaguar is hard at work developing this new model using a cobbled-together body, there are some details we can put together about this luxury CUV. For one it's about the same length as an XF, while the ride height is obviously taller and the tire track wider. We're not sure what the rig on top of this mule is for, but the whole car has us reminiscing about the old sedan versions of the Subaru Outback and the AMC Eagle (with a luxury spin, of course).
2018 Jaguar XJ stars in 'Game of Drones'
Mon, Sep 18 2017Looking for a fun way to put the its 2018 XJ in the spotlight, Jaguar turned to a fresh form of racing. The automaker placed three of the long-wheelbase XJL models in a studio, and surrounded them with illuminated, door-shaped gates. Then Jaguar brought in a pair of professional drone racers to compete in the glowing circuit, which includes pass-through of the rear of the XJL cabins. The drone pilots, donning VR headsets, sat in the rear of the 575-horsepower version of the XJL, the Jaguar XJR575, and launched the drones from the trunk of the car. They raced the drones through the gates and through the cars at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. "The course was a great test, but the fact we were able to go at such speeds proves how much space the doors of the Jaguar XJL gave us," said the winning drone pilot, Brett Collis. "Despite having to fly through the cabin, we were still pushing the drones to their top speeds." The "Game of Drones," as Jaguar dubbed the race, took place at Alexandra Palace in London, but the automaker is bringing similar experiences to more locations. Jaguar plans to go on an "Art of Performance Tour," where it will bring drone and Smart Cone driving challenges to the public, free of charge.
