Let's start with the custom interior. Leather seats reworked on the original frames, custom center console with built in speakers, electronic speedometer & tach, Secretaudio radio by Custom Autosound with remote and ready for a CD changer if you so chose, plush velour headliner, Vintage air A/C unit that will freeze you out of the car, built in speakers on the b-pillar behind the doors and much, much more!

Body: All metal work is done including new floorpans. This is a rust free car. Very nice paint job with only a few small flaws. Custom reworked bonnet (hood), the wings (fenders) were welded to the center section and the chrome strips were omitted. The bonnet center section was raised to allow the Ford 302 crate motor room and is open facing rearward like cowl induction. Koolmat lines the underside of the bonnet to protect the paint from heat. The front of the bonnet has a modified mouth opening and the headlamp area was reworked to omit the chrome eyebrow trim, also the front bumpers were removed. Door chrome has also been removed. Hotrod style turn signal & brake lights are installed front & rear.

Mechanical: Top of the list here is the Ford 302 Crate Engine topped with a Holley 4-barrel carb. Fitted to the V8 is a rebuilt Ford C6 automatic transmission so even your wife & kids can drive this car! New wiring and a new fuse panel behind the glovebox door, easy access! The 302 is fitted with headers and a custom stainless steel big bore exhaust system, sounds as good as it looks too! Mallory Ignition. Optima battery with power cut-off switch. Heavy duty power steering rack & pinion. Cross flow aluminum radiator with high powered electric cooling fan, she runs nice and cool! Multi groove accesory belt with March style pully setup. Chrome alternator. These are just a few of the upgrades! Everything is done on this car including new brakes, suspension, tires, wheels, rear suspension overhaul including new fulcrum bearings & seals.

Drivability: The car runs out flawlessly. No vibrations at all speeds. Very strong runner and extreamly fast as you would expect. Starts easily on the first revolution even when cold!

The only fault we could find on this car is the passenger door opens with some difficulty. We may be able to fix that if you so choose.

To wrap this up the car is the nicest Custom E-Type we've ever had the pleasure to drive and work on. Hope you're the lucky bidder to win this fine jewel!

Jaguar could replace two of its slow-selling sedans with a compact hatchback

Mon, Jun 22 2020

Jaguar needs a home run, and it might merge the slow-selling XE and XF into a single model in a swing for the fences. The company is considering several ways to replace its two smallest sedans, and one option on the table is filling the gaps they'll create with a compact hatchback that would take Jaguar into a segment it's never been in before. Nothing is official yet, and Jaguar still hasn't ruled out developing a direct successor to each model, but British magazine Autocar learned at least two other options are being evaluated. Julian Thomson, the company's design boss, suggested their spot might be filled by a city-friendly hatch that would stretch about 177 inches from bumper to bumper, a figure that would catapult it into a segment dominated by the Audi A3, the BMW 1 Series, and the Mercedes-Benz A-Class. It would lure a new set of customers into the company's global showrooms. "I'd love to do smaller cars, and it feels as though the time is right. Jaguar needs a global product that could appeal to younger buyers, and more females as well," Thomson the publication. Although that's simple on paper, it's a lot more difficult to achieve in real life. "It's a tough sector. You need big numbers, which means big factories, and a big organization to sell them. But that's definitely where I would like us to be." Jaguar would need to find a cost-effective way to build the model. Developing an architecture from scratch is one possibility, though it's an expensive one for a company whose financial foundations are shaky at best. It could use its new MLA platform if it's flexible enough to underpin a small car, or it could ask BMW — which it's linked to via several on-going partnerships — to use the front-wheel-drive UKL architecture found under the aforementioned 1. One point the original report doesn't address is that, while a hatchback in the vein of the A3 would do well in Europe, it would fall flat on its face in the United States. That's why Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz all added a trunk to their Euro-flavored hatches for American buyers who prefer three-box sedans. Jaguar would either need to do the same, meaning it would replace two sedans with a hatchback turned into a sedan, or it would end up giving up thousands of sales in one of the world's largest car markets, which would be counterintuitive. Another possibility floated by Autocar is replacing the XE (pictured) and the XF with a compact sedan described as eco-focused.

Jaguar will sell 10 fully restored Series 1 E-Types

Fri, Mar 31 2017

The Jaguar Land Rover "Reborn" program is expanding its offerings yet again. The newest offering is the first from the Jaguar side of the company, and naturally the first car is a Series 1 E-Type. Jaguar Classic will restore 10 of the first-generation E-Types, and the cars will be sold directly to consumers from the company. The very first of the cars is the 1965 model you see above, which will make its public debut next week at the Techno-Classica Essen show in Germany. It's a 4.2-liter model finished in "Opalescent Gunmetal Grey." According to Jaguar, it was originally sent to California where it racked up 78,000 miles, and then was put into storage in 1983. Jaguar then acquired the car, and the Jaguar Classic department proceeded to restore it to factory specifications. Jaguar fixed and retained as many original parts as possible, and used replacement Jaguar Classic parts as needed. The car is fully numbers-matching with the original engine and transmission. If you're interested in purchasing this E-Type, or one of the other nine, you'd better have a hefty pocketbook. A standard restored car done to factory specs will start at about $355,000 at current exchange rates. If you want to spend more, Jaguar offers a few extra cost options such as an upgraded cooling system based on the one found in the Lightweight E-Type, a fully synchromesh transmission for early models without it, and upgraded front brake calipers from the later Series 2 E-Type. Jaguar testing hardcore F-Type R-S GT?

Wed, 16 Apr 2014

Some automakers make a hardcore model, then sit back and revel in its awesomeness. Jaguar does things a little differently. It takes a standard production model, gives it more power, bigger brakes and a tighter suspension and slaps the letter R on it. Then it gives it even more power, even bigger brakes and an even tighter suspension and calls it an R-S. Sometimes the engineers in Coventry don't even think that's enough, so they strip out some weight and dial things up even further and call it an R-S GT.
So far, they've only gone that far with the XK (transformed first into the XKR, then the XKR-S, and finally the XKR-S GT), but with that model on its way out, Jaguar seems to be preparing to give the newer F-Type a similar treatment. Now we can't be sure that what we're looking at is an F-Type R-S GT, especially since the 550-horsepower engine from the XKR-S and XFR-S is already powering the existing F-Type R Coupe, but it does seem to have all the makings of a hardcore performance model.
Compared to the existing F-Type, the development model pictured here has a bigger front splitter (like the one on the Project 7 concept), a big rear wing and a set of what looks like pretty big lightweight alloys. It's also, tellingly, a roadster, which (unlike the coupe) has until now topped out at 500hp with the V8 S model. So while it may be hard to say exactly just what Jaguar has in store for us here (or what they'll call it), one thing's for sure: it's gonna be fast and loud.
