1969 JAGUAR XKE Fully Restored with Glass Covered Headlamps: The body was completely stripped down and fully dismantled. We performed a complete rotisserie restoration to the highest standards. All rust was cut-out and replaced with new metal panels from Monocoque-Metalworks. The undercarriage was seam sealed, rust-proofed, and painted as the rest of the car. We performed a proper conversion to fit glass covered headlamps. Great attention was paid to having proper shut lines and even panel gaps. The complete restoration was photo documented. A new and complete black leather interior kit as original has been fitted. The interior was supplied by Original Specification Jaguar Interiors. "Dynamat" was used throughout the interior and trunk, as well as the original jute insulation, to keep the car quiet and comfortable. The convertible top frame has been restored and fitted with a new vinyl top. The top boot cover is also new. A stereo with IPOD & USB hook-ups has been installed. Original numbers matching Engine completely Rebuilt to the highest standards using genuine Jaguar parts. A modern style rear main seal was adapted to eliminate the troublesome oil leaking original rope seal. With the fitment of Triple SU Carburettors and a modern 123 electronic distributor, along with a new original spec stainless steel exhaust this 4.2L Jaguar has the proper "Growl" and performs better than when new. A new Alloy radiator filled with "Evans" waterless non-toxic coolant along with twin original cooling fans keeps this cat running cool and reliable. Original Transmission was completely overhauled as well as new clutch and hydraulics. This gearbox shifts smoothly and effortlessly. No noises or grinding. The overall driving experience is that of a new car. The front suspension components were all rebuilt using uprated parts such as poly-urethane bushings. All of the main suspension components were nickel plated as original for superior corossion protection and superior asthetic appeal. The front & rear brakes were completely overhauled. Once again the main components such as calipers and handbrakes were nickel plated. This Jaguar has been fitted with new brake master cylinder, servo assembly, and stainless brake lines. The rear suspension and differential have been overhauled, painted and detailed. The majority of the chrome plating was re-plated by Van Nuys Plating in California to the original Superior type Hexavalent Triple Chrome Plating. A few pieces were left original to preserve some patina. The wire wheels are brand new Chrome Rim/Stainless Spoke Dayton's. We chose a 15x6 "Center-Lace" wire wheel for better visual appeal and better handling 215/65-15 Pirelli P4 Tires. The story: We originally sold this car to one of our good customers back in the late eighties. We reacquired the Jag back in September 2013. We embarqued on the full restoration in-house. We have been a Jaguar Specialist shop restoring E-Types for over 30 years - since 1980. Call 908-268-8108 for further details or to arrange a test drive.

2016 Jaguar XF to hit 60 mph in 5 seconds, lead with cutting-edge infotainment
Wed, Apr 1 2015Since the second-gen XF's unveiling last week in an epic publicity stunt over London's Canary Wharf, the details on the new four-door have been rather scarce. That changes now, with the Jaguar revealing just about everything we could hope to know... aside from the price and fuel economy. As we covered in our original post, Jaguar has trimmed the weight for both rear- and all-wheel-drive variants by 132 pounds and 265 lbs, respectively. That means that, regardless of engine output, the two-wheel-drive model tips the scales at just 3,770 lbs, while the AWD XF slips in at 3,880. This was mainly done by way of aluminum construction – the 13th element constitutes 75 percent of the XF's structure – although ultra-high-strength steel also plays a role. Jag claims these elements not only reduce weight – which is almost perfectly distributed, with a "near" fifty-fifty ratio – but increases torsional rigidity by 28 percent. The new XF should be just as agile as the brand's namesake, thanks not only to the reduced weight and stiffer structure, but also to a new chain-driven all-wheel-drive system that's both lighter and more efficient than a traditional version. Impressive though that may be, the brand's Intelligent Driveline Dynamics system is the standout here. IDD manages the torque split, diverting power to the rear axle until it predicts, through factors like yaw rate, steering angle and lateral acceleration, when torque should be shifted to the front wheels. Moreover, the AWD system features Adaptive Surface Response, which takes the place of the old XF's winter driving mode. It monitors road conditions, modifying the behavior of the sedan's systems as needed. The second-gen sedan comes to the US in 340-horsepower and 380-hp variants – torque remains fixed at 332 pound-feet – courtesy of Jaguar Land Rover's familiar 3.0-liter, supercharged V6. The new XF's straight-line performance should be just as entertaining as it sounds, too. The rear-drive, 340-hp XF will hit 60 in 5.2 seconds, while the rest of the range can get there in 5.0. That marks a significant reduction compared to the first-gen V6 models, which used their 340 hp to sprint to 60 in a more leisurely 5.7 to 6.1 seconds. Regardless of output, the rear-drive XF will outrun both the BMW 535i and Mercedes-Benz E350 (we're still waiting on performance figures for the 329-hp E400, so Jag's RWD dominance may not last), which take 5.5 seconds and 6.5 seconds, respectively.
Jaguar spotted testing hardcore F-Type SVR
Tue, Jul 7 2015Jaguar keeps churning out more and more potent versions of the F-Type. And if these latest spy shots are anything to go by, it's got an even more powerful version in the works. Spotted undergoing testing near the Nurburgring is what appears to be a more hardcore variant of Coventry's shapely sports car. Beneath the usual swirly camouflage we can make out a reshaped front end with a deeper splitter and bigger air vents, along with a giant rear wing affixed to the tail atop an enlarged diffuser and quad exhaust tips. The wheels look like they're mounted to a lowered suspension and pack bigger carbon-ceramic brakes as well. Following the Range Rover Sport SVR, Jaguar is likely to label the new F-Type performance flagship as an SVR as well. Jaguar spokesman Richard Agnew confirmed to Autoblog that the R-S badge that previously adorned the most potent Jags is being phased out. That leaves the SVR badge as the most likely to appear on the back of this beast once it reaches production, although that much has yet to be confirmed: "As we stated when Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations was formed," says Agnew, "it is our intention to create a high-performance Jaguar SVR and we are currently evaluating what product to launch first." Nameplates aside, we're more interested in what this amped-up F-Type is packing underneath. We'll likely be looking at an even further enhanced version of the company's signature 5.0-liter supercharged V8 pumping out a good 600 horsepower, which would eclipse both the 550 hp in the F-Type R and the 575 in the Project 7 speedster – potentially driving all four wheels. We'll just have to sit tight to find out, but in the meantime you can scope out the spy shots in the gallery above for a closer look at what Jaguar's Special Vehicle Operations division has got in the cooker. Jaguar design boss Callum reinterprets classic Mark 2 for himself [w/video]
Fri, 29 Aug 2014As the man behind the styling of basically every Jaguar since the mid 2000s, two things should be known about Ian Callum - he's a big fan of the brand, and he can bloody well get whatever kind of Jag he wants.
His newest car, though, is not what you might expect. Rather than an F-Type or an XJ, Callum has gone old school, and commissioned a custom, resto-modded Jaguar Mark 2.
Designed by Callum and built by Classic Motor Cars in Shropshire, England, the Mark 2 was an 18-month project between the designer and the garage. The essentially new car draws its power from a 4.3-liter engine that's been pilfered and modified from an XK. It's mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
