Let me first start out by saying, you don't want this car. Why?? For starters, its way too fast. It has 300 exhilarating British-engineered ponies under the hood, and that is a recipe for a lot of speeding tickets. Secondly, it draws attention everywhere that you go. People constantly stop to bother you and say, "Nice car", or "Hey man, great convertible. I love the color". Who has time for that nonsense. And lastly, its going to cost you a fortune to Valet this thing. Even when the Valet is complimentary, you have to tip the Valet a few bucks. And with a car like this, usually she/he will be expecting a lot more. But, if you can get past all that, and you like this awful Silver color (I hate Silver), then I guess we can go past the disclaimer (don't say I didn't warn you) and get to the information about the car. Have you been searching for an extra-clean, premium Import Convertible, that is in excellent condition, loaded to the hilt and won't break the bank? Then consider your search over. This incredibly low mileage XK8 Convertible is the one you want to own. ONLY one, careful owner since new, exclusively dealer serviced, and owned by some rich guy that split his time and residence between New England and Hallandale Beach, FL (you know, a superb of Fort Lauderdale where a lot of celebrities and Pro Athlete's live, and of course only a stone's throw away from South Beach, which, as you know is considered by many the adult playground of the East Coast, as well as LeBron's home for the past 4 years). Obviously 10 months out of the year in Sunny South Florida, and then the beautiful first Summer of this XK8's life in Massachusette's. For those of you unfamiliar with the demographics, these are 2 of the most affluent zip codes in the entire country. The guy had some bucks, and the way he maintained this Cabriolet, it certainly shows. Welcome to an outstanding opportunity. You are viewing a beautiful, one-owner, incredibly low mileage and fair-weather-kept 2002 Jaguar XK8 Luxury Sport Convertible. This drop-top is sexy, sleek, extra-clean and priced thousands below retail at the Jaguar dealership....if they were lucky enough to find one. Certainly one of the HOTTEST color combinations available, and to find it in this condition, with these miles, this is truly a no-brainer for those of you seriously looking for an exceptional Cabriolet. Stunning High-gloss Platinum Metallic Clearcoat exterior over Ivory leather interior, with complimenting insulated All-season Black canvas power top. This combination is wonderful, and it has the Cold Weather Package, for those of you in not-so-fair-weather climate. Heated seats, heated mirrors, rear defroster, and Traction Control. There's nothing quite like a clean, highly-polished, glossy Silver sports car (one reason why both Mercedes and Lexus use them in the promo ads), and this XK8 is the perfect canvas for that color. This one get looks and stares everywhere--top up, or down, and is an absolute pleasure to drive. Completely power convertible top, with integrated roll bar and full power options. The rich Black canvas is in outstanding condition, and equipped with a rear defroster. The leather is in excellent condition as well, and the rich wood accents really give this XK8 interior a distinguished appearance. What else would you expect from a privately-owned 20,000 mile vehicle that has overlooked the ocean 95% of its adult life? That's less than 1,500 miles per year folks! To say this Jaguar was used occasionally would be an understatement. It has had only one careful, mature owner and is loaded with everything. Add in the factory 6-disc CD changer ($400 option), ALPINE audio system, premium 18-inch aluminum/alloy wheels and this XK8 is as loaded as they come. With a window sticker price of over $76,790 here is your chance to save a ton of money. This XK convertible runs and drives superbly. I mean, this beauty truly drives like a new car! And with a set of brand new, premium heat-and-speed rated All-season performance radials in the front, this XK8 rides and handles like new as well. The look of this XK8 is aggressive with its staggered wheels (255/40ZR18 in the rear and 245/40ZR18 in the front), and the tires grip the road perfectly...and this car deserves them. They are brand spankin' new with less than 200 miles on them! And this XK8 performs precisely in any driving condition....Wet, or Dry! This XK8 offers power, handling, comfort, luxury and among the most unique and beautiful styling you will find. The design is timeless... This Jaguar XK has a great stance and appearance and the factory wheels are engineered to provide the ultimate performance and handling. The factory aluminum alloy wheels really look great on this car, This drop-top has plenty of power from its enormous 300-horsepower 4.0 liter powerplant and gets great economy on the Interstate, due to its wide-range, electronically-controlled 5-speed transmission (with Overdrive). Purrrs like a kitten.....but roars like a Lion when you hit the gas pedal. The 5-speed electronically-controlled automatic transmission (with Touch Shift) really provides effortless Interstate cruising and excellent fuel economy. Try 16 miles per gallon around town, and an impressive 24 mpg on the highway. Everything works perfectly and properly, and this Jaguar was serviced by the pro's at the Jaguar dealership, not Joe from Joe's Garage (no offense Joe). Only touched by Certified Jag technicians since Day 1. How's that for peace of mind! It had an original price tag of $76,790 in 2002 and had the value added package and 6-disc factory CD changer. More options include Alpine high-power audio system, dual 10-way power seating (with dual 3-position Memory seating), Electronic Climate Control, tilt/telescoping steering column, Express power windows with one-touch up/down feature, Parking Distance Control and High-intensity headlights, along with all the standard Jaguar features, this one is decked out. Factory fog lamps, Remote locking and factory security system rounds out the package. It even has the convertible top boot, to give it a great finished look. The battery is new as well, and the cooling system with serviced by Jaguar as well. EVERYTHING has been done to this car by factory-trained technicians. It does not get any better than this. All she needs is a new home. No disappointments here. Extra-clean interior, excellent leather and Burl Walnut wood trim, and a pleasure to drive. This car has never been smoked in. Is Jaguar testing an electrified XE?
Sun, Mar 22 2015Rumors about Jaguar Land Rover moving further into electrification for its models have been circulating for the last several months. Thanks to some new spy shots, there's even more evidence that the company could have a hybrid or electric model on the way. According to our spies, this rather innocuous looking XE was spied with a group of camouflaged XF and F-Pace prototypes in Spain. Everything about the luxury sedan looks fairly stock until you see the rear end. There, just under the taillight, is a circular blue badge with an "E" in it. That emblem and the vehicle being with other test cars hints at the possibility of Jaguar doing something electrified with the vehicle. Unfortunately, there are no other clues here to determine exactly what is happening underneath the skin. Jaguar Land Rover has been insinuating its intention to build greener models for a while. The company even founded an engineering center partially for them in 2013. A fully electric powertrain is reportedly under development to slot into the F-Pace and maybe also for a Land Rover. Meanwhile, Jag has a trademark on the name EV-Type. With these new photos, the signs of JLR's coming electrification continue to mount.
Unlatched Jaguar E-Type hood doesn't prevent blind overtakes at Goodwood
Sat, Sep 8 2018One of the things about Goodwood Revival that really sticks with you is that the classic racing cars are really driven hard there. It's never a slow parade around the track, but instead the vintage Ferraris and Jaguars really battle each other, metal against metal, lap after lap. The result is often scraped and bent sheetmetal, no matter how pricelessly valuable the vintage cars are. This clip, shared on the Goodwood Road & Racing YouTube channel, really shows the attitude that makes Goodwood what it is. Rob Huff, in a fixed-roof E-type, is chasing after Nigel Greensall in an E-type Roadster in the Kinrara Trophy race, and man, he really wants to get past. The problem is that every time the nose of Huff's Jaguar gently taps the rear quarter of the white Jaguar, the car's large hood wants to flip up and obscure the view, making overtaking even harder than it already is. Clearly Greensall doesn't want to let Huff ahead of him all that easily. We can only imagine how much work it takes to keep a classic Jaguar like that pointing in the right direction on a slightly wet track, let alone driving blind on a racecourse due to a massive clamshell hood in the way. At least we get a view of the XK six-cylinder engine. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
1965 Jaguar E-Type with just 8,000 miles is headed to auction
Sun, Jul 18 2021The Jaguar E-Type is considered by many to be the most beautiful car ever built, and that's particularly true of the first-generation, Series 1 cars. And while there are plenty of gorgeously restored examples, there can't be too many unrestored E-Types as well preserved as this 1965 roadster that will cross the block at the Gooding Pebble Beach Auction next month. Finished in black with a black top and matching interior, this E-Type was sold new to Ronald Goldstein, of East Longmeadow, Mass. The car remained with its original family until earlier this year, acquiring just over 8,000 miles before it was retired to the garage in 1972. Owing to its long storage, the exterior is dusty, light surface rust is visible on the bumper, and the plastic rear window is cloudy. But the car appears remarkably intact, particularly the interior. According to Gooding, this Jaguar retains its numbers-matching powertrain, a 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six engine and four-speed manual transmission, wears its factory paint, and even rolls on its original Dunlop tires. It also has its original Blaupunkt radio, factory soft top, convertible top boot, maintenance booklet, warranty card, and more. This has to be one of the most original Series 1 E-Types left in existence. We expect bidders will be raising their paddles high for this one. The dilemma for the winner will be whether to wash off that 56-year accumulation of dust and let this Jag's original beauty shine through.
