This is not a  perfect car, even after $25,000 dollar's.  It is a good mechanically sound car with rebuilt suspension that would make a great daily driver or track day car..... needs tlc.

Why the Jaguar XJS is the future for car collectors

As Jaguar unveils its new XJ model, something exciting is brewing in the classic cars market...

The gleaming, curved bodywork of the new Jaguar XJ was unveiled yesterday (February 9) in its first exhibition before the media and public.

When the new XJ is released onto the anticipation-filled market, it will have an asking price of lb53,000.

But, as Jaguar's new car takes the world by storm, something exciting is brewing in the classic car markets...

Ancestor models of the XJ now date back over three decades, and some of them have been performing very well on the auction blocks...

Only last year, 1991 Jaguar XJ-S XJR-S Coup'e (Chassis Num: 183372) realised $24,895 at a Bonhams & Butterfields sale.

Before that, at Kruse International in 2008, a Jaguar XJS two-door also from 1991 sold for $18,750.

The 1976 Jaguar XJS Trans-AM, sold for $225,500

Even as far back as 2002, XJS models were commanding five figures at top auctions. That year, a 1994 Jaguar XJS 'V-12' Convertible sold with no reserve, eventually bringing $34,993 at RM Auctions.

At the same Toronto auction, a 1995 model realised $39,220.

And, for new collectors looking for an inexpensive window into the XJS market, XJS-Mark IIs (1981-1990) have an average sales price of $10,059.

XJS models from the 1980s can bring up-to six figures at auction

Yet some models have been known to bring as much as $31,016 at sale.

So, in terms of value and collectability, the Jaguar XJS definitely offers a bright future for collectors.

But, for now, the 'holy grail' remains the 1976 Jaguar XJS Trans-AM. The '70s classic has commanded a cool $225,500 at auction.

Jaguar demanding customer data from reluctant dealers

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

Nearly every major business is collecting consumer data these days, and keeping that data secure has come to the forefront of many customer's minds. Jaguar Land Rover North America's decision to begin requesting more customer info from its dealer network appears unfortunately timed, however. If it had come a few years ago, it might have been ignored, but in today's climate of heightened awareness, a few dealers are pushing back. To put the showrooms in an even tougher position, JLR NA is threatening to deny quarterly incentives if they do not turn over the customer data, according to Automotive News.
JLR NA instated the nationwide plan, which it calls Single View CRM, on February 7, but according to Stuart Schorr, Jaguar Land Rover North America Vice President of Communications, the automaker has been negotiating with its dealers to institute the new program for over a year. Schorr tells Autoblog that no financial information is being shared, noting that such data is limited to customer details, including things like what vehicles they own and whether they have any pending service. The initiative is meant to "improve customers' and owners' engagement with the brand," he said. Also, the company is not accessing dealer data itself; instead showrooms are asked to enter the info into JLR's database.

ECD Auto Design Jaguar E-Type Electric First Drive: EV restomods have a bright future

Fri, Dec 15 2023

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — If youÂ’ve ever dipped a toe into the restomod world before, thereÂ’s a good chance youÂ’ve heard of the Florida-based company ECD. Originally known as East Coast Defender for the companyÂ’s earliest efforts restomodding Land Rover Defenders, itÂ’s now just “ECD Auto Design.” ThatÂ’s because thereÂ’s a whole lot more than just Defenders being cranked out of the workshop these days. And while weÂ’ve already driven its Land Rover offerings in the Defender and Range Rover Classic, today itÂ’s time to take the companyÂ’s latest creation for a spin: the ECD Jaguar E-Type. ECD announced its foray into the E-Type world about a year and a half ago, and by the time we showed up, itÂ’d already produced seven restored and/or heavily modified E-Types. Before we get too far into first impressions, though, some history. The E-Type, formally known as the XK-E here in the states, was produced between 1961 and 1974. It was a bombshell of a sports car when new, touting impressive performance for a solid price from both its inline-six and V12 engines. Jaguar went through three main iterations of the XK-E before wrapping up sales here: Series I, Series II and Series III. And while ECD has restored a Series I, itÂ’s focusing on the more widely available (and more affordable) Series II cars for this project. The E-Type was available as a coupe or convertible, and while ECD is allowing you to stick with either of the original powertrains for restoration builds, itÂ’s also offering some rather tempting swaps. If thereÂ’s something you should know about ECD, itÂ’s that this company loves a good American V8. YouÂ’ll find an LS- or LT-based General Motors V8 in most of its Defender builds, and thatÂ’s exactly what ECD is offering in the E-Type, too. GMÂ’s 450-horsepower LT1 can be plopped under the long hood of the E-Type should you want to turn it into a tire-destroying muscle machine. On the other end of the spectrum is an electric conversion option, which is the E-Type variant we got to drive. Before you scream “sacrilege!” we wonÂ’t bury the lede on this one: An all-electric E-Type is actually a hoot to drive. Admittedly, what makes it fun to drive is also what makes other modern-day sports cars fun to drive. ItÂ’s lightweight at just 2,940 pounds (thatÂ’s 60 pounds less than the V8-powered version), features a 51/49 weight balance, has a 305-horsepower motor doling out power solely to the rear wheels Â… and you can take the roof off!

This mule is the first evidence Jaguar is working on a 3 Series fighter

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

Rumors of an entry-level, BMW 3 Series-fighting Jaguar sedan have been floating around for quite some time, but thanks to our intrepid spy photographers, we now have visible proof that such a model is, in fact, in the works.
Despite this tester's XF fittings, it's clear that what lies beneath is an entirely different beast. The doors have been shortened, roofline adjusted, rear deck lopped off and exhaust replaced, giving us a better idea of the new sedan's smaller dimensions and details. The new Jag, which may be dubbed "XS," is expected to ride on Jaguar's PLA (Premium Lightweight Architecture) platform, touting weight-saving materials that should do a lot to keep overall heft to a minimum. Both turbocharged four- and supercharged six-cylinder powertrains are expected to be on tap.
Codenamed X760, the new small sedan will reportedly hit the market in 2015. Earlier reports have indicated that a new crossover - Jag's first ever - riding on the same platform will arrive shortly thereafter, so that suggests that the platform will be fitted with all-wheel drive as well.
