This 1996 Jaguar is in very good condition with new tires, top, headliner and paint. The wheels have new powder coating on them. The shocks have all been replaced with new as has the brake pads including the park brake shoes. I have a two year service record with receipts, detailing all work done on the car in that time. The cost of work done has been about $6,000. Most of that cost is not labor as I did most of the mechanical repair myself.
I am not the original owner. I bought the car from a local man in Richmond, VA. This convertible car is quite beautiful, in my opinion, and I believe it would please most people wishing to drive a different vehicle from the common car. Thank for looking. |

2014 Jaguar XJR unleashed just ahead of New York show [w/video]
Tue, 26 Mar 2013Just a week after teasing us with the first image of the car, and mere hours before revealing it to the public at the New York Auto Show, Jaguar has pulled the wraps off of its 2014 XJR super sedan.
The British automaker has confirmed that the XJR will be kicking out a full 550-horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque from its supercharged 5.0-liter V8, affording the sedan a 0-60 mile per hour sprint of 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 174 miles per hour. A ZF eight-speed automatic transmission will still allow for respectable fuel economy, as Jag estimates ratings of 15 miles per gallon city and 23 highway.
Newly tuned dampers and stiffer spring rates, along with an electronically controlled differential should ensure that the massive power of the engine isn't wasted in transition to the road. Jaguar has also tweaked steering software and hydraulics, with the goal of increased road feel, response and overall feedback. 20-inch signature wheels carry wide Pirelli rubber (265-section up front, 295 in back) to keep the XJR planted.

Jaguar XK and F-Type meet for final sibling faceoff
Fri, 08 Aug 2014There's nothing that real, dyed-in-the-wool car geeks love so much as to say "Old Car X is actually a lot better than New Car Y." For reasons that defy both logic and science, we all (your author included) are able to, almost simultaneously, bitch about needed advancements in current vehicles and then bemoan character lost in the next crop.
Mitsubishi Evo models have been supremely prone to this bifurcation of opinion in recent years (ask an Evo IX fanboy about the Evo X sometime... ), and performance cars wearing WRX, Mustang, and M3 badges have been deeply subject to it, as well.
The Jaguar XK and F-Type are not exactly in the same one-model, generational-changeover form as those mentioned above, but that doesn't mean that there aren't defenders of both the old dog and the new joint. Autocar seeks the truth of the matter in this new video, and we're just happy to come along for the ride. May the best sib win.
