1988 Jaguar XJS - V12 with Red Exterior and Beige Leather and Mahogany interior. I purchased this car last year from a private owner in Houston and he stated that when he bought the car the previous owner had kept it garaged and not used for the past eight years. The car body is in excellent condition with no noticeable dents or scratches, the interior is also in excellent condition and the leather seats show very little wear for a car manufactures in 1988. The air conditioner blows really cold and all electrical controls are operational. The engine compartment and trunk are in great condition and both clean and really well maintained. The odometer has 70000 miles I drive the car twice a week and it starts first time and runs great without any issues. I replaced all tires when I purchased the car as it had been stored on the originals for eight years. I am only selling the car as I have to make space in my garage (wife's orders) any inspection welcome. Shipping to be arranged by the purchaser in all cases Equipment: Red 2 Door Coupe with Jaguar V12 engine Central Locking, Electric Windows, Electric Mirrors, Heated Front Seats, Air Condition runs cold, Cruise Control, Beige Leather Interior, Mahogany Trim, Center Console, Computer for MPG, Time Date and Fuel Consumption, All Disc Brakes, Rear Wheel Drive and Fog Lights., Additional History of this Jaguar: As an addition in 1988 the car was owned by Red Adair who was famous world wide for extinguishing oil well fires, including the 1988 Pipa Alpha Disaster in the North Sea and later he and his team put out all the fires in Kuwait after Saddam Husain was removed by the US armed forces, so great history to this car. Send me a message if you need any additional info. |

Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations could build standalone models
Sun, Mar 8 2015Jaguar Land Rover may be set to turn its Special Vehicle Operations division into something much bigger than a mere in-house tuner. Bloomberg spoke to the head of JLR's high-performance, customization outfit, John Edwards, who hinted that his team may move beyond simply modifying F-Types, Range Rovers and the like. "We're certainly looking at that, and we've got the capability to do that," Edwards told AN. "Is there an opportunity for us to do a completely standalone car? Maybe." Such a move into full-scale, standalone models would be a big step, particularly for a division that's still kind of in its infancy. Bloomberg references the success of Mercedes-AMG, but the German division has had the benefit of decades of growth. AMG spent years and years building high-performance versions of all manner of mainstream Mercedes vehicles, before moving onto cars like the SLS AMG and AMG GT, which have no mainstream analog. In other words, AMG had a long time to develop a reputation building high-performance vehicles that people know and recognize before it moved into building vehicles of its own. We aren't entirely convinced that SpecOps wouldn't benefit from taking a similar approach, delivering additional SVR vehicles, like the rumored XE SVR, before striking out on its own. We'd like to know what you think, though. Is it already time for Special Vehicle Operations to build standalone models, or should it learn to walk before it runs by modifying more of Jaguar Land Rover's existing product. Have your say in Comments. Related Video:
Jay Leno hits the road in a 1951 Jaguar XK 120 Hot Rod
Thu, Feb 12 2015The 1951 Jaguar XK120 featured in this episode of Jay Leno's Garage might look vaguely like a classic Jag roadster at first, but underneath this cat is something completely different. It was built by Leno's buddy Jason Len of XK's Unlimited when he grew tired of keeping these convertibles stock, and this aluminum-bodied beast was the result. Practically the only major Jaguar part left is the engine. It's a tuned 3.8-liter inline six from an E-Type with Weber carbs that makes an estimated 300 horsepower out of some gorgeous side-exit exhausts. The mill is backed up to a BorgWarner five-speed manual. However, the big surprise is the chassis. In place of Jag's original solution, Len has a custom tubular space frame that he claims sheds some 1,000 pounds over the stock example. There are still some classic Jaguar touches left, though, such as the fin over the driver's head that is reminiscent of the D-Type, and both the wheels and gauges are replicas based on that classic racer. Of course the best part is watching Jay drive this Jag hot rod. This big cat really knows how to purr.
Jaguar F-Pace prototype goes to work at the Nurburgring
Wed, Apr 15 2015Jaguar is hard at work again, testing its upcoming F-Pace crossover. And here's our latest look at the prototype testing at the Nurburgring. The tester spotted here appears the same as the one we recently saw undergoing cold-weather development, only this time it's wearing summer rubber on fullsize wheels instead of winter tires on smaller ones. It's also missing the old prototype's auxiliary lights, and a bit more camouflage covering the quarter panels. The fact that it was seen on the Nordschleife, however, bodes well for the F-Pace and speaks to its orientation: Jaguar's first crossover promises to be geared towards performance, a sort of on-road counterpart to the off-road prowess of the SUVs offered by its sister brand Land Rover. We're looking forward to seeing the finished product at the Frankfurt Motor Show in the fall, but in the meantime you can scope out the spy shots in the slideshow above.
