Black On Tan, Great Condition! on 2040-cars
Rio Rancho, New Mexico, United States
ecognized as Jaguar's flagship full-size luxury sport sedan, the XJ model has also been the best selling Jaguar. Adding an "R" delineates the performance trim line.
The XJR shares the same all-aluminum body panels and aluminum monocoque frame as the rest of the XJ line. A supercharged version of the XJ base 4.2-liter V8 spins out 390-hp. Coupled to the line-up's standard ZF six-speed automatic transmission, the XJR can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in five seconds. Owners report 24 mpg on the highway and 19 mpg in town.
Like its smaller S-Type R sibling, the XJR shares the exclusive Jaguar Computer Active Technology Suspension (CATS) that electronically modulates the suspension to suit road conditions. In addition, this luxury sport sedan comes standard with Brembo antilock disc brakes that incorporate Emergency Brake Assist, traction control, and Dynamic Stability Control. Further safety features include dual-stage frontal airbags with side- and head-curtain airbags.
A classically appointed interior in leather and real walnut trim enfolds passengers. The standard power tilt and telescoping steering wheel, adjustable brake and accelerator pedals, along with 16-way power seats assure a perfect fit. A reverse proximity alarm system assists in parking this full sized sedan. In addition, an adaptive cruise control system uses radar to determine the distance to the vehicle directly ahead and sets the throttle and brakes to suit the flow of traffic. To keep the back seat passengers happy, Jaguar offers an optional DVD entertainment system with two backseat LCD displays. Some reviewers faulted the car's shifter design as out of date and complained about road noise entering the cabin.
Jaguar has wrapped its tradition of tasteful styling with upscale automotive technology and performance into the XJR. It warrants consideration by those who prefer traditional elegance in a full-sized sedan beyond that offered by German or Japanese competition.
Payment can be done via paypal or money order. Delivery can be discussed upon purchase.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
Seven-figure cars highlight day one of RM's Monterey auction
Sat, 17 Aug 2013RM Auctions is one of several houses holding auctions during the Monterey weekend, and Friday night's festivities got quite pricey. Seven-figure vehicles were not at all uncommon during the first day of the two-day event, with the 1953 Ferrari 375 MM Spider, seen above, crossing the block for $9,075,000.
Other big earners included a pair of rare Ferraris, a 1950 166 MM Barchetta and a 1955 750 Monza Spider, which took $3,080,000 and $4,070,000, respectively. Outside of the red Italians, a 1939 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special captured $7,480,000 while a stunning, color-appropriate 1955 Jaguar D-Type took $3,850,000. We've got images of these vehicles, and a few other stunning examples of last night's auction, in the gallery above.
Thought it seems impossible, tonight's auction is expected to see even more high-dollar action. The winner of the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours, a 1928 Mercedes-Benz 680S Torpedo Roadster is expected to command over $10 million. Also crossing the block will be a car we reported on a few weeks back - a supremely rare 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 NART Spyder. One of only 10 in the world, it's expected to take anywhere from $14 to $17 million when it hits the stage tonight.
2016 Jaguar XE pounces on the Parisian port
Thu, 02 Oct 2014It's been about five years since Jaguar discontinued the misguided X-Type and exited the compact luxury sedan market, but today marks the British automaker's re-entry into the segment with the public debut of the all-new XE.
Pitted against the likes of the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the new Jaguar XE is based on an all-new aluminum architecture that will underpin many new felines to follow, and packs a new family of four-cylinder engines. That is, aside from the range-topping XE S pictured above, with the super-six borrowed from the F-Type.
Conservatively styled but elegant and uniquely Jaguar, the XE isn't set to arrive Stateside until 2016. So unless you're planning a trip overseas (with a stop at a Jaguar showroom on the itinerary), our gallery of live shots from the floor of the Paris Motor Show here at the Porte de Versailles may be the best look you'll be getting at Coventry's latest for the next couple of years.
