Please read entire ad, including watching videos and looking at all the pictures, before asking questions. I try to do my best to show the car exactly how it is and I posted a lot of pictures and videos and description so you can see if this is the car for you. The car is in nice shape and runs great. Check out my full description below with 100+ pics in html form and 2 videos. If you have any questions let me know.

2001 Jaguar XJ8. 50K original miles, currently 49,999 and just about to hit 50K (maybe be a few miles over 50K by the time you get it). It runs and drives great with no problems. I am selling it for my neighbor. Clean California title. Current California registration until Feb. 2015. Black paint with Tan leather interior. Paint overall is in nice condition overall. The hood is starting to fade a little, but not too bad and could be made to look better with a wax / buff / etc. I only washed it. Im sure a professional wax / buffing would make the car look even nicer than it already is. It is not bad at all and I am being more critical because it is an online auction and I want to point out everything I notice. It has 1 very small minor ding on the hood (see pic) and another very small ding on the driver side quarter. Both are very minor and not very noticeable. There are 2 very very minor chips on the paint on the hood. See pics to see how minor / very . I want to show everything about the car so you can see. I didn't see anything else around the whole car and that is really good for a black car. It is very straight. The black original paint is very shiny and reflective still. You can see this in the pics and video. It has a small rock chip in the passenger side front window (see pic). The rear bumper had a chip in the paint on the corner and had a little black paint sprayed over it (see pic). It has a small scratch in the middle of the rear bumper (see pic). The car has a couple of minor little scratches on the paint, a little one on the door and a little on on the trunk (see pics), will easily remove with a routine waxing or buffing. Other than these little minor cosmetics, the car looks great. Check out the video and pictures to see it. The Chrome, Windows, Body, lights and everything is in nice shape. In the video I said that one of the tires had some cracks on the side wall needs to be replaced, that is now the spare tire and the car has a new tire on it. The tires are in good condition and have good tread. The 2 back ones are pretty new. The rims are in good condition with no rash (car is usually parked in driveway/ was garaged until 2008 / had car cover most of the time until last year). In the video I said my neighbor was the original owner, but he is actually the 2nd owner.

The interior is tan and in nice condition. The leather on the drivers seat shows a little wear but not much and is in nice condition. The interior is very nice condition overall. There is a small rip on the center console top (see pic). There is a little spot on the back seat and a little scratch / very minor (see pic). There are a couple cracks in the wood grain, one on the dash near the left button, a couple small ones on the driver side door panel insert, and one on the passenger side door panel insert (see pics). The headliner is sagging in the back and needs to be glued back up to be perfect but fine as is. It is a cheap fix. It is a common problem that happens on these cars. Everything works good. Non smoker car. Nice interior.

Engine is a 4.0 and runs great. 50K original miles. Transmission shifts nice. No leaks. Car runs and drives great like a car with 50K original miles should. 2001 was a good year for Jag, as they upgraded the Aluminum Engine block, the Throttle Body and the Timing Chain to correct problems from previous years. These upgrades from the factory make a 2001 model much more desirable and reliable than a 2000 or previous years because it is so much better of a vehicle. If you are getting a Jaguar of this style you want it to be a 2001 and up for sure. It passed California smog in the last year (Oct 2013) no problem. For CA Buyers, I dont currently have it smogged because smog is only good for 90 days in CA. Since I am putting it on ebay and it might get sold another state it would be a waste of money to smog it in CA. so I am selling it as is, and will let you handle the smog if you need it. It will pass no problem in California, the most restrictive state for smog. It has passed all prior checks. You can check the history at , California Smog Check History , just type in the plate number or vin number.

Overall this is a great car. It runs, drives and looks great and is in the condition you would expect a 50K mile original well kept car should be in. This is one of the lowest mile 2001 Jaguar XJ8's that has been on ebay in the past couple months. I have seen ones with more miles sell for more than the starting bid I am putting this car for sale at. I am starting it at $4000 with no reserve. The highest bidder wins it. My neighbors have too many cars and need to make some room so here is your chance to get a great deal. If you have been looking for a low mileage Jag here it is. I have the title, keys and car here and it is ready to go. If I think of anything else I will add it to the ad. If you have any questions let me know. Check out the video and pictures to see the car for yourself. You can make the videos bigger by clicking on the title and watching it on my YT channel. I have put a lot of pictures in html form, so if you are looking from a phone you might need to look from a computer to see all of them.

Non refundable deposit of $200 due through Paypal within 24 hours of auctions end. Car should be paid for within 10 days of auction end. Car needs to be picked up within 3 weeks of auctions end. If any of these are a problem for you and you are serious about bidding / buying please contact me. If you are going to have the car shipped I can assist in meeting the shipper / truck when they get close to my house. I have sold cars on ebay before and everything has always gone smooth. Check my feedback. If you have any questions let me know. Serious only please :) Thanks and good luck.

Jaguar to build 25 D-type racing cars to finish off 1956 production run

Wed, Feb 7 2018

It's good to pick up where you left off, even if it's been more than 60 years. In 1956, Jaguar planned to built 100 D-type racing cars, but only 75 were completed. The missing 25 cars will now be built at Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works in Warwickshire, England, and they will all be built according to the original, authentic specifications. Customers can choose between 1955-style "Shortnose" cars and 1956-style "Longnose" versions; the prototype is of the latter specification. All of them will have the original six-cylinder XK engine, and they will come with a lot of Le Mans heritage, as D-types won the famous 24 hour race in 1955, 1956 and 1957. During their competition years, D-types were driven by such motorsport legends as Mike Hawthorn, Stirling Moss and John Fitch. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. The newly built D-types will be the third continuation models from Jaguar's classic works. Earlier, they announced they were building nine XKSS cars to finish off a production run that was cut short by a 1957 fire, and in 2015 the division built six Lightweight E-Types. The XKSS itself was strongly related to the D-type, as originally it was based on unfinished D-types sitting around in the workshop after Jaguar temporarily retired from racing. As Jaguar Classic's Engineering Manager Kev Riches says of the continuation cars: "Each one will be absolutely correct, down to the very last detail, just as Jaguar's Competitions Department intended." No pricing details have yet been announced, but they will surely follow the D-type's official debut at the Retromobile classic car show in Paris this week. Related Video:

How and why Jaguar designed an electric SUV

Tue, Nov 15 2016

Adrian Belew, front man of famed progressive rock band King Crimson and collaborator with Bowie, Zappa, and the Talking Heads, released a prescient song in 1982, but we didn't know exactly how prophetic it was until this week. The song was titled Big Electric Cat, and its lyrics seemed to predict nearly 35 years ago the unveiling of Jaguar's first all-electric vehicle, a production-ready crossover concept with the not-so-ingenious name, I-Pace. She arrives like a limo/Smooth and moving/On the prowl through the crowd/To the beat of the city/She glows in the dark/Wherever she parks/Concrete crumbles and the night rumbles. At first glimpse of the I-Pace, you may not have precisely the same feeling of disintegration as the roadbed Belew mentions, but there is no denying that the new Jag is important for the brand. Flush with investment from its corporate overlords at Tata, the company is on its most robust product offensive ever, rounding out its lineup to become a full-range manufacturer, investing in autonomous driving and projective head-up technologies, nearly doubling global sales, and now going electric. "This is probably the most important car since the E-Type, I really mean that," says Jaguar director of design Ian Callum. "And when we get this car out into production and it gains recognition and popularity, I think history will show it's a significant step for the brand. Not only because we're embracing the future, quite openly and honestly, but because we're going to beat the rest of them. Tesla is there already, but none of the rest." As a challenger brand – one not in the top of mind consideration set like rivals at Mercedes, Audi, or Lexus – Jaguars are made or broken on this kind of differentiation. The I-Pace is certainly distinctive, and looks like nothing else on the road. Like many contemporary Jaguars, its rear three-quarter view is its most compelling, with the slender half-round taillights inspired by the legendary E-Type that were first revived on the F-Type and have since become a signature. But here, the rear end is shaved off and in an angular concavity that seems an effort to take as much mass as possible out of the back, and one that echoes elsewhere on the vehicle: in the scalloped sides, in the continuous path of glass from the base of the front windshield to (almost) the base of the rear liftgate. But especially in the foreshortened and deep-nostriled hood.

Off-roading in a 2020 Jaguar I-Pace HSE

Wed, May 6 2020

The hiker’s eye roll was so extreme that it was nearly audible. “Nice trail car,” she said in mocking tones that left little doubt she felt otherwise. She was among a group that was walking single file downhill as I was creeping my all-electric 2020 Jaguar I-Pace around a tight uphill bend, proceeding slowly because a sheer cliff blocked my view through the apex on this one-lane section of the Maple Springs truck trail. Such a cautious approach is the norm up here because hikers share this fire road with mountain bikers, adventure motorcyclists and day-tripping off-roaders. But I was being extra careful because I was keenly aware that my electric all-wheel-drive machine emitted none of the engine noise an ascending geared-down truck would make. WhatÂ’s more, my test car was shod with the optional low-profile 255/40R22 high performance summer tires that put the lips of the pricey 22-inch “diamond turned” rims uncomfortably close to the rocks. Meeting a motorized vehicle wasn't the surprising bit – it was that theyÂ’d expected to see a 4Runner, Tacoma or Jeep Wrangler come nosing around the bend, not some high-falutin Jaguar styled by renowned designer Ian Callum. IÂ’d been up this U.S. Forest Service fire road dozens of times, most recently just two weeks ago in my own JK Jeep Wrangler. ItÂ’s easy if you have clearance and reasonable all-terrain tires, so I was prepared to take advantage of the numerous wide spots if the iPace protested. Besides, this was not really a test of the off-road prowess of the I-Pace itself. I was more interested in getting a feel for what electrified off-roading might be like. I started grinning less than 100 yards after the trailÂ’s narrow paved approach turned into dirt and began snaking steeply upward through dust and embedded rocks. In my own Jeep, which has a six-speed manual transmission and 4:10-to-1 axle gearing, I usually choose low-range at this point because the transmission gear spacing in high range is too wide and the engine bogs all too easily at these slow and constantly varying speeds. By comparison, the JaguarÂ’s power delivery was pure magic. For starters, there was no 4x4 mode to engage, no low range to select. The dual-motor all-wheel drive system is always on, and it constantly adjusts its torque split to suit conditions. Throttle pedal response is thoroughly accurate, and I never once had to goose the pedal because electric motors deliver their peak torque at zero rpm.
