Long Wheel Base

This car is a California low mileage car with only 95,000 miles. I have owned this XJ-12 for over 10 years and it has been in storage since 2006. The car does have a non-op title and has just been serviced, oil change, transmission fluid changed, brake inspection. The car does need the cooling system flushed and cleaned. Air conditioning blows ice cold and all systems work as they should. The car is also a long wheel base car which is hard to find. This car has been maintained and is mechanically sound and has a factory CD changer, this is very rare find for this year of car with a 6.0 V12. The clear coat paint is not in good condition and the tires should be replaced. The early V12 5.3 did have some problems however, this does not apply to this model. This is a great road car and is a pleasure to drive. The interior is in great condition but the driver’s side seat does have some wear. The wood is in great shape, the head liner is good with no sag, all glass and chrome is in good condition. The VIN tags are on all four corners of the car. The car does have the factory tool kit. I have been a factory trained Jaguar mechanic for over 35 years so I am very familiar with these cars.

Watch Jaguar build its XJR Rapid Response Vehicle for Bloodhound SSC

Last month, Jaguar revealed an F-Type specially equipped to serve as a Rapid Response Vehicle for the Bloodhound SSC. Now it's rolled out a pair of XJRs kitted out for the same purpose. Set to debut when test pilot Andy Green drives one up the hill at Goodwood later this month, the Jaguar XJR Rapid Response Vehicle has been equipped by Jaguar Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations division. As you can see, it's got a special livery of blue and orange to mimic the rocket- and jet-powered streamliner's own color scheme, and has been stripped out and fitted with a roll cage and specially crafted tools for the land speed record attempt. Of course, the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 carries over with its 550 horsepower to propel it to 60 in 4.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 174 miles per hour. Alongside the F-Type – which recently undertook a parachute deployment test Â– the pair of XJR Rapid Response Vehicles will be on hand in South Africa when the Bloodhound attempts to break the land speed record as well as the sound barrier on dry land. 2013 Jaguar XF 3.0 Supercharged

Generally speaking, I don't get too upset about the growing need to replace displacement in modern cars. Sure, there are exceptions (don't you touch my 6.2-liter AMG V8), but honestly, the industry's new forced induction powertrains are all lovely, and their gains in fuel economy - when they actually make good on them - can make up for the ever-so-slight losses in performance or driving character.
But I'm having a hard time keeping my chin up with this Jaguar XF. For the 2013 model year, Jaguar has killed off the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 and fitted a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 with an eight-speed automatic in its place (and even offers a turbocharged four-cylinder engine below that). That all sounds perfectly well and good, but a week behind the wheel of this British Racing Green sedan just left me missing that V8. And then some.
