(keys are in mint condition; I even put the everyday key in a cloth mini pouch so it would not get wear on it) EVERYTHING DOCUMENTED Had a Jaguar (not a 3rd party) extended warranty up until 100,000 miles, so anything that need replacement to that point was done. First owner had Cilajet Aviation Grade Sealant done to through the Jaguar Dealer to protect all exterior parts. The only reason I am selling the car is I just purchase a used 2011 Jaguar XKR175 Coupe (limited to 175 in the US). I have been waiting to get an XKR for years. I know Jaguar's very well, have had in the past, XJ8, XK8, XJR and over course this beautiful XF Supercharged. Please do not bid unless you are completely serious. Anyone with feedback lower than 10 must contact me before bidding otherwise the bid may be canceled. The XF Supercharged is completely loaded and has more features than most vehicles on the most vehicles on the market today. Please see pictures. Jaguar serviced only from day one. I have all service records including from the first owner. Purchased from a Jaguar dealer. Always synthetic oil. New Ceramic Brakes and rotors New All Season High Performance Tires Floor mats are perfect since I put a rubber mat down to reduce wear. Clear 3M Bra on 1/4 of hood, front bumper, tips of front fenders; very minimal and minor rock chips in a few locations (nothing major) See pictures, will add more shortly. Only known issues: Very Minor curb rash from the original owner which I touched up with exact Jaguar paint. Didn't want a rim guy messing up the original Jaguar finish by spraying junk paint that will eventually peal and discolor. Told you I was picky. Very Minor wear (in color only) on drivers seat where the belt area would meet the seat. This is NOT a rip or major imperfection. Once again please see the vehicle in person and you will truly see how obsessive I am. Thanks for viewing my auction. I have sold other rare vehicles on eBay with excellent feedback. I AM NOT A DEALER; Average person who enjoys vehicles. Can provide references if needed. Please contact me anytime 302 290 0039 Delaware or by eBay email. No warranty but the vehicle is truly in excellent condition. |

Junkyard Gem: 2001 Jaguar XJ8
Mon, Mar 4 2024After Ford bought Jaguar in 1989, the bosses in Dearborn finally got their hands on a storied luxury brand that would be taken more seriously than Lincoln outside of North America. A fresh infusion of dollars worked wonders to improve the quality of Jaguar's engineering and assembly, and development of a modern DOHC V8 engine immediately took a high priority. That engine made its debut in the 1997 Jaguar XK8, then went into the engine compartment of the very first production Jaguar sedan to get factory V8 power: the XJ8. Today's Junkyard Gem is one of that first generation of XJ8, found crashed in a Colorado self-service boneyard. The 1998-2003 XJ8 lived on the final iteration of the mid-1980s-vintage XJ40 platform, the X308. While this means that the X308 had chassis ancestry stretching back to the British Leyland era, Ford's money ensured that it would be built better than its predecessors had been during the cash-strapped bad old days. Exterior styling wasn't much changed from that of the XJ300. Inside, the old XJ40 dash finally went away for good, replaced by a design more appropriate for the new century. Jaguar couldn't compete with BMW and Mercedes-Benz on leading-edge chassis engineering, but its heritage was hard to top. The engine is a 4.0-liter DOHC V8 with variable valve timing, rated at 290 horsepower and 290 pound-feet. Ford should get credit for funding Jaguar's own engine instead of simply stuffing some member of its Modular V8 family in here. If you wanted a manual transmission in your XJ8, the answer was a firm no. In fact, Ford ended up using the 3.9-liter version of this engine in the Ford Thunderbird and Lincoln LS. The MSRP for the base 2001 XJ8 was $56,355, or about $98,725 in 2024 dollars. The 2001 BMW 740i listed at $62,900 ($110,190 after inflation) and the 2001 Mercedes-Benz S 430 cost $70,800 ($124,030 now). Perhaps the $51,745 BMW 540i and the $56,050 Mercedes-Benz E 430 ($90,649 and $98,190 in today's money, respectively) were more realistic sales rivals for the XJ8, though. This car's interior is a bit grimy but appears to have been in nice enough condition when it arrived here. What happened? This happened. On a near-quarter-century-old European luxury sedan, body damage like this usually results in the insurance company declaring the car totaled. Remember when Dennis Tito paid $20 million to become the world's first space tourist? Jaguar could have saved him some money. You'll never, ever lose it in the parking lot.
Jaguar XE promises to net 'over 75 mpg,' just not for us [w/video]
Tue, 29 Jul 2014With around a month away from its world debut on September 8, Jaguar continues to issue a constant drip of updates about its upcoming XE compact luxury sedan that's aiming to take on the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4. Where the company's last bit of info focused on the car's suspension setup, this time Jag's putting the spotlight on the new model's modular platform and making some big promises about it, too. How big? Try over 75 miles per gallon big.
That's the headline figure that Jaguar is claiming for its new sedan, but it's keeping mum on just what powertrain will realize that figure. Furthermore, that result is on the European test cycle, which is more lenient than America's EPA testing regime. In any case, when the XE hits the road, Jag says it will be the most efficient vehicle from the company, ever.
That's thanks in no small part to the aluminum-intensive monocoque chassis underpinning the sedan. It's constructed from a new grade of the lightweight metal called RC 5754 that uses a high portion of recycled material. "The Jaguar XE body uses over 75-percent aluminum content, which far exceeds any other car in its class. This gives us a body structure with unrivaled low weight: it's light but also immensely strong with extremely high levels of torsional stiffness," said Dr. Mark White, Jaguar Chief Technical Specialist; Body Complete.
Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee season 2 opens with Sarah Silverman and Jag E-Type
Sat, 15 Jun 2013Season Two of Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee kicked this week in style. How much more style is there to be had than in a 1969 Jaguar XKE, after all? This time around, Seinfeld and Sarah Silverman spend some time driving around in the "slinky, sexy" Jag, talking comedy and then grabbing breakfast.
In addition to the kickoff of the show's second season, this episode also represents the start of a 24-episode sponsorship with Acura. The original deal promised short ads at the beginning and end of each episode, but this time around, Seinfeld "stumbles upon" a 2014 Acura RLX, which is obviously - and admittedly - the work of product integration. Scroll down to watch Seinfeld and Silverman exchange banter with the Jag's beauty as a happy backdrop.
