Jaguar E-type Roadster 1972 V12 Xke Series Iii Convertible on 2040-cars
Ashburn, Virginia, United States

This is a 1972 Jaguar XKE (E-Type) OTS Roadster – Series III Convertible. It is a remarkably beautiful car and turns heads every time it’s outside. This is a low mileage car with about 47K on the odometer. The 1972 model year was the 1st
full production year for the new V12 configuration. I’ve owned this Jaguar for
about 11 years. It has been garage kept
through my ownership and never been in the rain. I seldom drove the car in my 11+ years of
ownership. It is in excellent unrestored
condition with paint being done by the prior owner. There is no rust on the car and the body and undercarriage
is straight with no accidents or damage.
Overall it is an excellent clean original and unrestored example. All numbers matching with original engine, transmission,
and drivetrain. It has original real wire
wheels with knock-off hubs. This
beautiful roadster is an automatic and has factory air conditioning. I have
a clean title for the car. Interior is all original and
unrestored. Leather seats show some wear
however, are in great shape. Carpet and
dash are in excellent condition. Exterior is in great shape as
well. There is no rust on this car. Under bonnet is clean and rust free. Boot is rust free as well. No rust in tire well or rear quarter
areas. Includes wire wheel spare with
original jack, handle, knock-off wrench and hammer. All original boot liners and covers The convertible top is original
and in excellent shape for a 40+ years old!
The top mechanism works perfectly and the top overall looks great. The rear window is a bit yellow however still
provides visibility. The original tonneau
cover is also included and is in perfect condition. I also have the original owner’s
manual and several other books that I will include with the purchase. There is
one original key and I have a blank WASO key that will also be included (no
longer produced). I have some spare parts that I purchased many years ago that
I will also include. I have a clean title
for the car. Car has been tuned by local British car shop; new plugs, points,
rotor, cap, and plugs. Starts and runs
great. The only items that have been
replaced are the battery and starter.
The starter is a new high torque type and works great. I have the original factory starter that will
be included will the car as well. Jaguar history In 1971, the Jaguar E-Type
Series III introduced a V12 engine to the model. Jaguar called it the
"Ultimate Cat" and advertised the its inherent smoothness and absence
of engine noise. The small block V12 displaced 5.3 liters and produced 314
horsepower. Along with the new engine, the body entire car was lengthened for
additional cabin space. Along with the longer 105-inch wheelbase, the body had
flared wheel arches, revised bumpers, and a large scoop under the front grill. Inside
the V12 had an entirely new interior with new reclining seats, a center
console, new door panels and a revised steering wheel. The dashboard retained
much of the Series II layout, but included the 2+2 stowage areas above the
floorwells.

Jaguar prices 2020 F-Pace range, starting at $46,225
Sun, Jul 28 2019The 2020 Jaguar F-Pace lineup includes two new limited-edition models, and every model comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay standard. The crossover has finally acquired its most crucial numbers, the MSRPs. Starting price for the entry-level F-Pace 25T, powered by the lesser 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder Ingenium engine begins at $45,200. Add the unchanged $1,025 destination charge and the total comes to $46,225, which is $400 more than the 2019 model. The Premium, Prestige, and R-Sport trims go up by the same amount for both the 25T and the 30T models — the 30T powered by the 296-hp version of the 2.0-liter Ingenium turbo four. Premium increases by $550, Prestige by $350, and R-Sport by $300. That makes the least-dear 25T Premium a $48,825 affair. The 30T Portfolio model costs $64,625 for 2020, a $300 bump over 2019. The S raises the stakes by the same amount, to $63,125. The flagship F-Pace SVR with its 5.0-liter supercharged V8 and 550 hp tacks on the largest price jump of $620, for a total of $81,625. The limited edition trims are the previously announced 300 Sport and Checkered Flag. In the U.S., the 300 Sport comes exclusively with the 296-hp 2.0-liter Ingenium four-cylinder, and exterior revisions like dark satin gray trim on the grille and window surrounds, side vents, mirror caps, rear fascia and door finishers. Inside, yellow contrast stitching on the instrument panel and seats marks the beast, plus embossed logos on the front headrests. The full-fat Touch Pro navigation with Connect Pro comes standard. The crossover sits on 22-inch gray wheels and wears plenty of 300 Sport badges throughout. Three colors are available: Yulong White, Indus Silver and Santorini Black. It takes $63,025 to start the bidding. The Checkered Flag Special Edition is based on the R-Sport and adds plenty of gloss black, including 20-inch gloss black wheels. Color choices here are Yulong White, Eiger Grey and Santorini Black. The 247-hp four-cylinder get the nod, along with 18-way adjustable front seats, the Touch Pro navigation without Connect Pro but with the Meridian audio. It costs $59,4258
Junkyard Gem: 2000 Jaguar S-Type
Fri, Jan 7 2022My junkyard studies of Jaguars have focused mostly on the four-wheeled felines of the 1960s through 1980s, but plenty of more recent Jags may be found in U-Pull-type yards around the continent. Today's Junkyard Gem appeared in a Northern California boneyard last summer, and it had stories to tell. Once Ford took over Jaguar in 1990, the idea of a midsize Jaguar saloon to steal sales from the BMW E39 5 Series and Lexus GS seemed like an increasingly good idea, and so a name used on a mid-1960s version of the Jaguar Mark 2 was revived for use on a car built on the same platform as the Lincoln LS. Both the new S-Type and LS appeared during the 1999 model year, and both are fairly easy to find in your local Ewe Pullet today. American S-Type buyers could choose between a 3.0-liter V6 and various flavors of V8 (including a hairy supercharged V8 good for 400 horses in the S-Type R). This car has the V6, which was based on the Duratec out of the Taurus and made 281 horsepower. In theory, American S-Type (and Lincoln LS) buyers could get a five-speed manual transmission on V6-equipped 1999-2003 cars … but I've never seen a three-pedal S-Type/LS, and I've been looking hard. As you'd expect, European S-Type buyers could get both manual transmissions and diesel engines for the duration of the car's 1999-2007 production run. This car has a ZF six-speed slushbox. The interior looks to have been in good condition when the car showed up here, and the original manuals were still in the car. Some of the wood trim got a bit cracked in the California sun during the car's two decades on the road. That sure looks a lot like a Kia Amanti nose, doesn't it? The Amanti appeared a few years later and showed strong S-Type (and E-Class) styling influence. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. 40+ cars that barely avoid the gas guzzler tax
Thu, 24 Jul 2014
The Gas Guzzler schedule, with mpg ratings and charges that haven't changed since 1991, lays out which fuel-swillers owe what to Uncle Sam.
I started thinking about the "Gas Guzzler Tax" - considerably less well known as The Energy Tax Act of 1978 - when I was driving Dodge's new Challenger SRT Hellcat last week. Unsurprisingly for a car that can burn 1.5 gallons of gas per minute at max tilt, theoretically able to empty a full tank of premium in about 13 minutes, the Hellcat will be subject to the Gas Guzzler Tax schedule when it goes on sale.
