1973 Jaguar XKE Series 3 V-12 E-type Roadster Red with a black interior. 105,000 miles. Wire wheels, manual transmission. This is an exceptionally nice series 3 E-type V-12 Roadster. The car shows very nicely on top and on the underside as well. It comes with a very complete manual pouch with some very rare manuals that you normally don't see with these cars. The car is numbers matching. While the odometer says 105,000 the car looks to have been restored at some point in it's life, it is far to clean and nice not to have been if someone told me the car had 30,000 miles on it, I would believe them! Please look at the photos carefully to see the condition. It is rare to find one in this condition. Look at all the photos the underside shots on the web page mentioned below really tell the story of how nice the car is. The car also comes with a hard-top that I have not yet photographed. These cars represent a great value in an open grand touring/sports car. I have a page with many additional highly detailed photographs go to forzamotorsports with the usual com ending to see the photos, if you are seriously interested please take the time to do this. The car has recent service history over the last few years. The car is located in northwestern Connecticut about 75 miles north of New York City. If you have questions you can contact me thru ebay or call 860-350-1140. Buyer pays shipping. I can help you arrange shipping to any part of the world but you must pay for it. International buyers welcome. Thank you for looking at my listing. This is the link where there are many more highly detailed photos of the car. Please look it over carefully it is very nice. |

Lapping Le Mans with 1956's version of a dash cam
Wed, 01 May 2013Mike Hawthorne and Ivor Bueb won The 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1955 driving a Jaguar D-Type. The following year, a few days before the race, a British broadcaster put cameras on Hawthorne's car, hung a mic from a plate on his race suit and had him narrate a lap of the Circuit de la Sarthe.
It is compelling viewing. A new pit complex was built after the massive accident on the front straight in 1955, but this was still a time when crews prepped for the race on roads that were open to the public. Hawthorne's lap includes maneuvers to avoid bicyclists and cars, and gems like letting us know that doing 185 miles per hour down the Mulsanne Straight was where you could "relax a little, recover your energy." Watch him work it like the men of old in the video below.
This mule is the first evidence Jaguar is working on a 3 Series fighter
Fri, 01 Mar 2013Rumors of an entry-level, BMW 3 Series-fighting Jaguar sedan have been floating around for quite some time, but thanks to our intrepid spy photographers, we now have visible proof that such a model is, in fact, in the works.
Despite this tester's XF fittings, it's clear that what lies beneath is an entirely different beast. The doors have been shortened, roofline adjusted, rear deck lopped off and exhaust replaced, giving us a better idea of the new sedan's smaller dimensions and details. The new Jag, which may be dubbed "XS," is expected to ride on Jaguar's PLA (Premium Lightweight Architecture) platform, touting weight-saving materials that should do a lot to keep overall heft to a minimum. Both turbocharged four- and supercharged six-cylinder powertrains are expected to be on tap.
Codenamed X760, the new small sedan will reportedly hit the market in 2015. Earlier reports have indicated that a new crossover - Jag's first ever - riding on the same platform will arrive shortly thereafter, so that suggests that the platform will be fitted with all-wheel drive as well.
Jaguar details XE for North America
Tue, Apr 28 2015Jaguar is bringing the XE to North America next spring, and in advance of its arrival, the British automaker is giving us more details on its new compact sports sedan. The top engine choice is dubbed the XE 35t, which is a little misleading since its tried-and-tested 3.0-liter V6 is actually supercharged, not turbocharged. Regardless of the manner of forced induction, its 340 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque are claimed to propel the XE to 60 miles per hour in 4.9 seconds on its way to an electronically limited top speed of 155 miles per hour. Buyers looking for something more frugal at the pump may be more interested in the other engine option. The XE 20d adopts Jaguar's new Ingenium diesel, a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four good for 180 hp and 318 lb-ft of torque. That's quoted for a 0-60 time of 7.4 seconds and a top speed of 140 mph. Both are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive will also be available on both versions, but come by default in rear-drive form. Buyers will also have the choice among three trim levels, staring with Premium, moving up to Prestige and on to R-Sport with satin chrome and gloss black trim, a rear spoiler and 20-inch alloys. Pricing is set to be announced closer to launch, but for now you can scope out the details in the press release below, and watch this space for our upcoming drive report to follow our earlier report.
