1973 Jaguar : E-type Xke Series 3 Roadster,v-12, 25,249 Original Miles on 2040-cars
Paris, Texas, United States
I BOUGHT THIS ONE OWNER CALIFORNIA CLASSIC IN MARCH 2004. IT HAD BEEN GARAGED IN PALM DESERT AND NOT STARTED FOR THE PREVIOUS 5 YEARS. IT WAS SHIPPED TO TEXAS AND HAS BEEN GARAGED, BUT STARTED AND DRIVEN SINCE. THE FUEL SYSTEM WAS FLUSHED AND THE CAR STARTED IMMEDIATELY WITH THE AID OF A NEW BATTERY. THE ENGINE IS STRONG AND THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN UP TO 75 MPH WITH LOTS OF HEAD ROOM LEFT TO EXPLORE. THE FOLLOWING HAVE BEEN REPLACED: BATTERY, 4 NEW TIRES,NEW RIGHT POWER STEERING HOSE, SHOCK ABSORBER, SPARK PLUGS, FUEL PUMP AND FILTER, NEW OLD STOCK MUFFLER WITH 4 TUNED EXHAUST PIPES, RADIATOR CORE, RADIATOR FAN RELAY. THE FAN RELAY FAILED TO CORRECT AN OVERHEATING PROBLEM, SO THE FANS HAVE BEEN WIRED DIRECTLY TO THE IGNITION SWITCH SO THAT THEY TURN ON IMMEDIATELY WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED. PROBLEM SOLVED. ALSO PURCHASED ON EBAY WERE AN EXTRA SET OF RADIATOR FANS, SET OF FOUR STROMBERG CARBURETORS, A HOSE KIT - ALL OF WHICH WILL BE INCLUDED ALONG WITH A COLLECTION OF ROCK AND BLUES EIGHT TRACK TAPES WHICH CAN BE ENJOYED ON THE SOUND SYSTEM WHICH INCLUDES AM-FM RADIO AS WELL! JOURNEY BACK IN TIME IN THIS GORGEOUS EXAMPLE OF SENSUOUS STYLING WITH A CLASSIC ROCK COLLECTION OF TAPES. I ALSO HAVE TWO SERVICE RECORDS FROM EDMUND'S JAGUAR/ROLLS ROYCE WHICH SHOW THE LOW MILEAGE OF LESS THAN 25,000 WHEN LAST SERVICED BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER IN 1998. IT WILL NEED SOME REPLACEMENT OF WINDOW GUIDES, SEALS, AND PERHAPS MORE HOSES. IT COULD BE RESTORED TO SHOW CONDITION IF DESIRED. IT WAS NOT SMOKED IN BY ME, BUT IT MAY HAVE BEEN IN THE LONG AGO PAST. THERE IS NO ODOR, BUT PERHAPS SOME GRIME ON THE SEATS? FOR SERIOUS INQUIRIES, I WILL BE HAPPY TO DISCUSS THE CONDITION OF THIS VEHICLE TO THE BEST OF MY PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE.

Jaguar Buys World's Largest Collection Of British Classic Cars

Jaguar's Special Operations division announced today it has bought the world's largest collection of classic British cars. The 543 cars had belonged to wealthy dental entrepreneur Dr. James Hull, who sold the entire collection to the British automaker for $170 million dollars. Jaguar scored 130 of its own vehicles in the lot, including a XK, SS, C, D and E-types, XJ as well as a few rare Land Rovers, according to Road & Track. The division that bought the cars is not only responsible for the heritage museum, but also for special projects. Special Operations finished the 18-car run of the lightweight E-types, albeit 50 years late. Jaguar plans to use the cars as promotional pieces to highlight the history of the brand, according to Cars UK. Related Gallery Retro Features Car Shoppers Still Want
Say goodbye to Jaguar's vestigial oval grille
Tue, 10 Dec 2013Jaguar has been on a campaign to replace any and all retro cues with modern ones. Just look at the current XJ and the one it replaced, or the XF and the S-Type that came before it and you'll know what we mean. The one remnant is the XK and its oval grille, in and of itself a throwback to Jags of old (which started to look more like a certain Star Wars alien in above-pictured XKR-S form). But don't expect it to hang around.
Newer Jaguars have been ditching the oval aperture for a more squared-off one, and the next XK will have to fall in line. But don't expect that to be the only change in store for the next-generation Jaguar coupe and convertible.
With the new F-Type now holding the more enthusiast-oriented ground, the next XK is expected to grow bigger, softer and more luxurious. That will likely mean a more commodious back seat as well, though that shouldn't be hard to do considering the lack of space in the back of the current model...
Jaguar XE hits the 'Ring wearing swirly camo
Wed, 21 May 2014Jaguar is happy to show off its new XE sedan on its social media sites, but when testing at the Nürburgring, it's a very different story. These spy shots show the new model in camouflage to make it much harder to discern, but there are still some intriguing details to pick out.
These photos give us a really good look at the XE's quirky rear end. The sedan has a super short trunk that almost fools you into thinking its a notchback, but the top edge of the trunk is clearly visible. It's a somewhat odd-looking design with the rear glass running underneath the roof's overhang to create an integrated spoiler. Despite the camo, the front end is the same as ever with a blunt edge and sharp headlights. Jag certainly isn't afraid to try something a little different compared to the XE's competitors, notably the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4.
Some technical details about the XE are already established. This 3 Series-fighter is slated to go on sale in foreign markets in 2015 and in the US in 2016. We know that it ride's on Jag's new aluminum platform that also underpins the C-X17 crossover concept, and power comes from a pair of 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines, available in petrol- or diesel-fueled configurations.
