This is my private car. I am not a dealer. This car has never been taken apart and put back together. It is an extremely solid , a beautiful driving E-type with plenty of power and torque. It is an extremely comfortable car and  highway worthy . It handles beautifully and its 4 wheel disc brakes make it stop quickly and safely. The body gaps ,door fit, hatch fit and bonnet are like they left the factory. The floors are solid and all four jacking points are solid. The engine starts first time everytime and has that wonderful sounding exhaust .It has great oil pressure, around 55-60 at start up and 45 running. The engine is sweet and strong with no smoking. The transmission shifts smoothly and flawlessly. It does drip a few drops of fluid after a run but nothing serious.  The interior is all original and has great patina plus all original seat belts.The floor rugs are in great condition.  The headliner is beautiful with no sagging . The spare tire wheel well is totally solid and has the original padding glued to the floor from the factory. The spare tire is the original tire that came with the car but I would recommend using it strictly on the show circuit. The original jacking tools and vinyl pouch are in the spare tire well with the spare tire. The car has new wire wheels and tires with less than 1 thousand miles on them. Chrome is all original and in very good condition showing normal wear. All lights and lenses are in great condition with no cracks or broken pieces. Weather stripping is all original and does show its age in spots. All the glass is in great condition with no cracks or broken areas. All the gauges work except for the clock. The A/C unit turns on but doesn't blow cold and one plastic air regulator is missing a few louvers. The heater,windshield wipers ,lights etc. all work as they should. The body is very straight and the underside is very solid. This car has always been garaged and maintained . The previous owner was a collector who garaged the car in his multi car garage for the 10 years that he  owned it. I don't have any history beyond that. I've owned many e-types over the years , but this one is definately one of the most comfortable ,driveable and  roomy e-type I've  ever owned. Just get in it and go !!!
The car has always been  signal red with black leather interior. It has one repaint  by the previous owner when he first bought the car. The paint has a very high luster and looks great from 5 to ten feet away. On close inspection it has its imperfections but with a very shiny luster plus the previous owner used a  tiny artist brush extensively to apply touch up paint  to cover up small rock chips etc. There are a few small scraps on the fender arches to note. One in front of the drivers front fender and one behind the drivers front fender. One behind the passenger rear tire and one on the passenger front fender. Nothing major but they don't show up that well in the pictures. The voltage regulator , alternator  ,battery ,spark plugs all replaced  2/12 .  Car is ready to be driven and enjoyed. Please look at all the pictures on the ebay auction but also the many other pictures I posted on my separate shutterfly web site. Please e-mail me at domejag@aol.com to get the exact link for over 100 additional pictures. There are many detailed  underside, interior, exterior photo's of this beautiful car for your review.  The car comes with a very nice car cover ,a Jaguar Heritage Certificate and the original owners manual ,documenting this cars originality and pedigree. Please type in this link for over 100 more photos of this car ;

How and why Jaguar designed an electric SUV

Tue, Nov 15 2016

Adrian Belew, front man of famed progressive rock band King Crimson and collaborator with Bowie, Zappa, and the Talking Heads, released a prescient song in 1982, but we didn't know exactly how prophetic it was until this week. The song was titled Big Electric Cat, and its lyrics seemed to predict nearly 35 years ago the unveiling of Jaguar's first all-electric vehicle, a production-ready crossover concept with the not-so-ingenious name, I-Pace. She arrives like a limo/Smooth and moving/On the prowl through the crowd/To the beat of the city/She glows in the dark/Wherever she parks/Concrete crumbles and the night rumbles. At first glimpse of the I-Pace, you may not have precisely the same feeling of disintegration as the roadbed Belew mentions, but there is no denying that the new Jag is important for the brand. Flush with investment from its corporate overlords at Tata, the company is on its most robust product offensive ever, rounding out its lineup to become a full-range manufacturer, investing in autonomous driving and projective head-up technologies, nearly doubling global sales, and now going electric. "This is probably the most important car since the E-Type, I really mean that," says Jaguar director of design Ian Callum. "And when we get this car out into production and it gains recognition and popularity, I think history will show it's a significant step for the brand. Not only because we're embracing the future, quite openly and honestly, but because we're going to beat the rest of them. Tesla is there already, but none of the rest." As a challenger brand – one not in the top of mind consideration set like rivals at Mercedes, Audi, or Lexus – Jaguars are made or broken on this kind of differentiation. The I-Pace is certainly distinctive, and looks like nothing else on the road. Like many contemporary Jaguars, its rear three-quarter view is its most compelling, with the slender half-round taillights inspired by the legendary E-Type that were first revived on the F-Type and have since become a signature. But here, the rear end is shaved off and in an angular concavity that seems an effort to take as much mass as possible out of the back, and one that echoes elsewhere on the vehicle: in the scalloped sides, in the continuous path of glass from the base of the front windshield to (almost) the base of the rear liftgate. But especially in the foreshortened and deep-nostriled hood.

Watch a Jaguar F-Type R drag a parachute at 186 mph

Mon, Jun 15 2015

With carbon-ceramic brakes on offer, the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe can shed off speed even faster than it can rack it up. Even the standard steel rotors do a pretty good job of it. But what would happen if you deployed a parachute out the back of the Jag at 186 miles per hour, like you might with a drag racer? That's what the British automaker has found out in this latest video. And just why would they do such a thing, you ask? Because Bloodhound, that's why. Jaguar is providing technical support to the Bloodhound SSC land speed record attempt, and one of the roles into which the F-Type has been pressed is to check the parachute that will (along with the air brakes and rotors) form an integral part of the jet- and rocket-powered vehicle's run. To make sure the chute would do its job, the team put Royal Air Force pilot Andy Green behind the wheel of the specially equipped F-Type at the RAF air base in Bentwaters, Suffolk, UK, had him speed down the runway up to the car's top speed and deploy the chute. Fortunately, as you can see from the minute-long clip, everything seemed to have gone according to plan – though we're not sure about the logic behind the assertion that if "it worked at 180, it will definitely work at a thousand miles an hour." Related Video: Jaguar F-TYPE Performs Mission Critical Parachute Deployment Test for British World Land Speed Record Challenger Bloodhound SSC 12 June 2015 - World land speed record holder Andy Green drives an F-TYPE R Coupe at top speed of 186mph to test Bloodhound SSC's parachute deployment system - The test continues Jaguar's technical partnership in the world land speed record attempt, following a high-speed communications test run in South Africa in 2014 - Jaguar will be at the heart of Bloodhound SSC providing its 5.0-litre 550PS supercharged V8 engine to power the rocket's oxidiser pump Today, Jaguar and the world land speed record holder RAF Wing Commander Andy Green performed vital high-speed parachute tests as part of the company's on-going technical support for this unique engineering adventure: creating a car that can cover a mile in just 3.6 seconds. The jet and rocket powered car, which aims to surpass the current record of 763.035mph before targeting 1000mph, has multiple braking systems including air-brakes ('doors' mounted on the side of the car which open to increase aerodynamic drag) and disc brakes (used when slowing down from 200mph).

2016 Jaguar F-Type debuts available manual transmission, AWD

Wed, 19 Nov 2014

If you're like us, you fell in the deepest, darkest sort of love with Jaguar's F-Type the moment its voluptuous form first surfaced. The car's full-bodied engine specs only furthered our ardor, and the droptop Jag sealed the deal before we even turned a wheel - all it took was hearing its engine bark to life.
And yet, even after driving the original convertible and the subsequent coupe, we've never quite shaken the notion that Jaguar erred a bit too heavily on the Grand Touring side of the equation for a proper sports car. That's partially because even the base model comes with a boatload of weight-adding luxury features. But perhaps more importantly, it's because the F-Type has only been available with an automatic transmission. Admittedly, the gearbox in question is a damned good paddle-shifted eight-speed ZF unit, but it's always chafed a bit that Jaguar wasn't committed to offering purists a manual - even if such a model would never be a high-volume proposition.
Apparently we weren't the only ones bothered by three-pedal omission. According to Russ Varney, F-Type Vehicle Program Director,
