1967 JAGUAR E-TYPE 4.2 Series 1 Open Headlight 2+2
I would like to start by saying what a rare and solid example this car is.. with only 2644 2+2 models made between 66-67 and even fewer being open headlight models that make her one rare cat..
she is a 2 owner car and this is her story as told to me by the owners son..his dad bought the car in 1990 and spent 2 years and a good deal of money having her motor, transmission, cooling system, and fuel system all restored by a local jaguar restoration shop and by this time she was in need of a paint job so he decided to change her to white to help keep her cool on those hot summer days..by the time he registered her in 1992 she had 77236 original miles on her.. he told me that it was his dads pride and joy and he only took her out on weekends.. then his dad had a bad stroke in 1993 leaving him unable to drive his beloved Jag.. And he didnt want to sell it because he thought he might get well enough to drive it again.. he never did and the car sat for 21 years till his death in October, 2012..
i bought the car with the intention of doing a nut and bolt restoration on her, but just 2 days ago found the car of my dreams a 1968 Shelby gt 500.. and i don't have the time, space, money, to do 2 nut and bolt resto's and mamma says you can only have one so the kitty cats gotts go...After i picked up the Jag i put her on blocks and removed the spinners and wheels to give me more room to get around and under her.. from what i can tell the man was telling me the truth.. the motor looks to be a fresh rebuild as does the transmission and the new fuel tank in the trunk supports his claim.. so with that in mind i decided to try something out.i pulled the plugs which were like new and turned the motor over by hand and that got me thinking..i did an over all inspection after filling the radiator i noticed water coming out of the 2 little hoses from the firewall to the heater so i replaced it and it held water, i checked the oil which looked new and was full, so moved on to the transmission and it was full and clean, so on to the fuel system and cleaned the glass fuel filter and blew out the line from the trunk forward,,decided to put in a couple gallons of fuel and battery and when i turned the key i heard the pump pumping but i didnt get any fuel to the filter ( probly cloged at a fitting).. so for the sake of my test i grabed my electric pump hooked it up to the fuel line in the trunk and the other end in a gas can and turned the key again and the glass filter up front filled up with fuel... so i pumped the pedal a couple times and hit the start button.. and about fell out of the car when she fired up.. i let her run for about 30 seconds and then mamma noticed fuel coming from the su carbs overflow hoses.. i knew it would need alittle work to get her running but never thought she would fire up that easy on the first try..
She is not perfect she has a couple dents and dings not bad for her years she needs some interior attention and a paint job, a set of tires and some general maintenance to be road worthy and she would make a nice daily cruiser..but she is solid and the power train is all original and matching numbers and with such low production numbers she is a great candidate for a complete nut and bolt resto....
here are her numbers....CHASSIS# 1E 77436 BODY# 4E 53333 ENGINE# 7E 53359-9 GEAR BOX# EJS 13940
ANY QUESTIONS..CALL DAVE...702-645-1676

this is a rare car it was even ordered radio delete..it still has the original radio block off plate and the 2 covers where the speakers would go in the back and the 2 grill covers where the 2 speakers would go up front...and there is no antena hole in the rear quarter where it would be..
Less widely known, right at the end of Series 1 production and prior to the transitional "Series 1 1/2 " referred to below, a very small number of Series 1 cars were produced with open headlights.[11] Production dates on these machines vary but in right hand drive form production has been verified as late as March 1968.[12] The low number of these cars produced make them amongst the rarest of all production E Types.
Following the Series 1 there was a transitional series of cars built in 1967–1968, unofficially called "Series 1 1/2 ", which are externally similar to Series 1 cars. Due to American pressure the new features were open headlights, different switches, and some de-tuning (using two Zenith-Stromberg carburetters instead of the original three SUs) for US models. Some Series 1 1/2 cars also have twin cooling fans and adjustable seat backs. Series 2 features were gradually introduced into the Series 1, creating the unofficial Series 1 1/2 cars, but always with the Series 1 body style.............from wikipedia

Jaguar F-Pace SVR with 550 horsepower headlines 2019 F-Pace refresh
Thu, May 3 2018Jaguar has introduced the lightly refreshed F-Pace for 2019. The regular models are updated with better infotainment and interior touches, but the big deal is the SVR version with its 5.0-liter V8 engine. We already saw the F-Pace SVR at the New York Auto Show, and it will now be available as a 2019 model. The supercharged V8 engine with a variable valve active exhaust system produces a whopping 550 horsepower and a touch over 501 lb-ft, hitting 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds. The SVR's top speed is 176 mph, and it's priced from $79,990. The entire gasoline-powered F-Pace lineup gets exhaust particulate filters, even the SVR. Jaguar says the ultrafine particle trapping system is regenerated every time the driver lifts his foot off the throttle. Jaguar does say the setup is market-specific. There are also larger, 21.66-gallon fuel tanks for the 250- and 300-horsepower Ingenium I4 cars, the 380-hp V6 version and the SVR, to improve range. There's now adaptive cruise with steering assist, which operates between 0 and 112 mph, and emergency braking and lane-keeping assists are standard as well as a driver condition monitoring system and a rear camera. Safety tech has also been packaged into optional safety packs, called Park Pack, Drive Pack and Driver Assist Pack; the third of these combines the earlier two and adds adaptive cruise with steering assist. The 10-inch infotainment touchscreen is standard, and Jaguar now offers new, 14-way adjustable "slimline" sports seats as an option. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. Jaguar Land Rover data leak reveals employee records, upcoming layoffs
Fri, May 25 2018A massive data leak has revealed the personnel files of hundreds of employees at Jaguar Land Rover's factory in Solihull, England. The documents reveal details such as sick days used, disciplinary issues and — most notably — red lines indicating potential firings in the weeks or months ahead. In total, the personal records of more than 600 workers were released. JLR is scrambling to contain the crisis. The breach was first reported by the Huffington Post UK, with the automaker initially claiming the story was "fake news." That publicity gaff certainly didn't help matters, especially for employees staring at their name with a red line slashed across it. Last month, the British automaker had said it would be eliminating roughly 1,000 employees at factories in the U.K. The Solihull plant, which produces models like the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Jaguar F-Pace and Jaguar XE, was among those mentioned in the statement. JLR, which is owned by the Indian conglomerate Tata Motors, is facing a steep drop in sales, particularly in its home market. The main culprits include a huge slump in sales of diesel-powered vehicles - a vital part of JLR's business in the U.K. and throughout Europe - along with fears about how the upcoming "Brexit" will affect business operations. In the HuffPost UK story, one worker called the situation "disgusting" and "embarrassing," adding that people at the factory now know whether they, or their colleagues, are soon due to lose their job. Never-was Jaguar C-X75 hybrid supercar driven by Autocar
Mon, 24 Jun 2013There's lucky, and then there's "I got to drive the Jaguar C-X75." The crew from Autocar is among the handful of souls who can honestly make the latter statement. Jaguar invited the publication down for a little time in both the passenger and driver seats around the automaker's proving grounds. While there's no end to the jealousy oozing from our pores, the good news is that there were a few cameras on hand to capture the experience. As you may recollect, the C-X75 Concept was a unique hybrid supercar concept built to duke it out with the likes of the Ferrari LaFerrari, Porsche 918 and the McLaren P1. The British automaker put it on track for production, but unfortunately stopped the project about six months ago.
With a twincharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine capable of revving to 10,000 rpm, the C-X75 concept yields 502 horsepower and gets partnered with four electric motors - one at each wheels. A 19kWh lithium-ion battery pack serves up 300kW of power, and combined, the motors and battery are capable of yielding an additional 194 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Combined, the driveline is good for more than 850 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. Said another way, the C-X75 will do the 0-60 miles per hour dance in under three seconds.
And Autocar got to drive it. You can watch the video for yourself by scrolling below.
