I’m offering my 2006 black obsidian Infiniti G35 coupe up for sale. I love this car and am bummed to be letting it go, but I’m in store for a change, so it’s time to part ways. This car is fully loaded with every factory option except navigation (it has the sport-tuned suspension package with 19-inch forged aluminum-alloy wheels, premium package with keyless ignition, and the aero package).
I am the second owner of this car, and I’ve had it since ~35k miles. In that time it has spent 2 years in Florida and 3 in Michigan. It currently has on its summer tires, Kumho Ecsta LE Sports. In the winter I swap out to Bridgestone Blizzaks (WS-50 in front and WS-70 in rear) which perform phenomenally in the snow! I’m including the winter wheels/tires in this auction. I have meticulously cared for this car inside and out. Always hand washed, all scheduled maintenance performed at the Infiniti dealership with documentation included. The title on it is clean and clear, it’s never been in an accident, from a non-smoker, and most of the miles are highway. There are no rips or tears in the seats like you’ll find with many, and the interior is in excellent shape. It does have a few tasteful modifications: - 35% tint on rear and side windows - tinted clear corners - tail light overlays - aftermarket grille - painted brake calipers - LED halos in stock headlights (I disconnected them, but you may reconnect them if you’d like) - AEM cold air intake These modifications can be easily removed to return the car to stock if preferred, and I’m including the stock grille and intake as well. Just recently had a mileage tune-up, has a new battery (a few weeks old), new rear brakes, new summer tires, new winter tires, and the aluminum wheels were just restored and are nearly perfect. No mechanical issues, and it runs beautifully. As you can see from the photos, the paint is in overall amazing condition, but there is some hologramming in certain angles of light, and there are a few spots that could use a little TLC: a couple tiny tiny dents, small clear coat chipping, bubbling of clear coat in one panel, and a little shop-overspray in a couple areas that could easily be spot-repaired (see pictures, zoomed in to show detail), and are overall pretty unnoticeable. There are two windshield chips that were repaired by Safelite. The car also whistles a bit, but that's normal for this age. Other than those minor issues, it's golden. So in summary, the winner of this auction receives: car w/summer wheels, winter wheels, extra factory grille and intake, + 3 key FOBs. The mileage may go up only slightly if it's test-driven. I would be happy to assist in shipping at the buyer's expense if you don't intend to pick the vehicle up. No reserve. Please don’t hesitate to message me if you have any questions! |

Infiniti invites 22-year-old to work with Red Bull F1 team
Thu, Aug 27 2015Infiniti launched the Infiniti Performance Engineering Academy (IPEA) in 2014, a global talent search for three engineering students from eleven international markets that the automaker would select for a one-year assignment with its Formula One team and road car division. The second year's IPEA competition has concluded, the class of 2015 expanding to five students that get eight months at Infiniti Red Bull Racing headquarters in Milton Keynes, and four months at the company's European Technical Center in Cranfield, UK. Twenty-two-year-old Alex Allmandinger (pictured), a student at the University of Illinois and one of 11 US finalists, is one of those five winners. He'll head to Milton Keynes next month to settle in with the other winners from China, Europe, Russia, and Saudi Arabia. Based on interviews with last year's winners, the IPEA doesn't stick the students in a corner, either – one of them said he had designed seventy parts that went into the RB11 F1 racecar. The video above speaks to some of this year's winners, the video below talks to last year's, and there's a press release below that. This content is hosted by a third party. Aug. 20, 2015 – Infiniti has announced that an engineering student from the University of Illinois is one of five global winners of the 2015 Infiniti Performance Engineering Academy (IPEA). For one year, Infiniti will provide 22-year-old Alex Allmandinger with the opportunity to work in Formula One with the Infiniti Red Bull Racing team. After beating 11 other finalists from around the country in an intense shootout event, Allmandinger will move to Infiniti Red Bull Racing headquarters in the UK in September to begin a 12-month placement working with the four-time Formula One World Championship Infiniti Red Bull Racing team, as well as with Infiniti. Allmandinger will spend eight months working on Vehicle Design at the team's headquarters in Milton Keynes, UK – and four months working at Infiniti's European Technical Center in Cranfield – on road car development projects. Formula One technology is more relevant to the automotive industry than ever and will play a key role in the ongoing transfer of technical knowledge and expertise between the race team and Infiniti.
2025 Infiniti QX80 First Drive Review: So close to being great
Mon, Jun 24 2024NAPA, Calif. – Confession time. I kind of forgot that the Infiniti QX80 exists. Sure, itÂ’s gotten a refresh or two in the past few years, but it's essentially been the same big olÂ’ three-row SUV since 2010. IÂ’m pretty sure I used to call it Fudgie the Whale. Or maybe it was Pudgie the Whale. Like I said, itÂ’s been a minute. Now IÂ’ve gotten a taste of the 2025 QX80 and hey, what do you know, there is a lot to like. The third-generation of the body-on-frame SUV goes big on tech, style and comfort, making it a respectable triple into the right-center gap. However, its ride quality keeps the QX80 from being a home run. FudgieÂ’s V8 was nixed in favor of a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 good for 450 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Sure, it doesnÂ’t sound quite as good as the older powerplant, but it produces more power and better fuel economy to boot – 18 mpg combined with rear-wheel drive and 17 with four-wheel drive. The old one managed only 15 mpg with four-wheel drive. With low-mpg numbers like these, thatÂ’s actually a huge difference. The new turbo V6 is well-mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, putting the power down to the rear wheels as standard in Pure and Luxe trims, or all four wheels as an option with those trims or as standard with the higher Sensory and Autograph. There are no complaints about power delivery. It has more than enough grunt for merging and the transmission downshifts readily for easy passing. There are five drive modes as well as a Personal setting, but I spend my time alternating between Standard and Sport. The latter tightens up the steering and powertrain, allowing the SUV to hustle fairly well on a twisty road without much body roll. ItÂ’s no Mercedes-AMG GLS, but starting at under $85,000 including destination, itÂ’s not nearly as expensive either. ItÂ’s when youÂ’re just toddling around town that the ride quality becomes a problem. All but the base Pure trim comes equipped with an “Electronic Air Suspension” and “Dynamic Digital Suspension,” the latter function monitoring the QX80Â’s motions to electronically apply damping forces. This isnÂ’t necessarily anything new in the automotive world, but other manufacturers just do it better. Up and down motions are well-controlled, but IÂ’ve been in row boats with more side-to-side stability. My head gets tossed around like IÂ’m piloting a Jeep on a dusty back road, and all IÂ’m doing is driving the paved streets of Napa Valley, California.
Infiniti Vision Qe concept will preview the brand's first EV
Fri, Oct 13 2023Infiniti released a dark preview image to give us an early look at its next concept. Called Qe, the design study will make its debut in October 2023 and provide a glimpse at what the Japanese brand's first series-produced electric car will look like when it lands later in the 2020s. Details about the Qe concept are few and far between, and the dark picture published by Infiniti leaves a lot to the imagination. It shows light reflecting on what looks like a fastback-like silhouette, so we know we're not looking at a convertible or at a big, burly SUV like the QX80. We think we see four doors, but the bottom part of the car is obscured so it's too early to tell whether this is a low-slung sedan or a crossover. Out back, a rear light bar is seemingly integrated into a spoiler that's positioned above backlit "INFINITI" lettering. We'll need to be patient to find out more, but an earlier report casts a little bit of light on what to expect from the Qe. Although unofficial, it details four new Infiniti models due out in the coming years, and two are electric. The first is a replacement for the Q70. It will reportedly land by the end of 2026 as the brand's first electric car, and it will feature shorter overhangs as well as a longer wheelbase than its predecessor, which retired in 2019. The second was described by insiders as "a midsize crossover." That's all we know, but odds are the Qe previews one of these two EVs. Infiniti will fully unveil the Qe on October 24, 2023. It also pledged to announce "several stunning new models" at the unveiling event. We're notably expecting to learn more about the next-generation QX80, which was previewed by the QX Monograph concept in August 2023.
