Well, the time has come for me to part ways with my baby "Project Ninja"
here as I plan to be leaving to where I cannot drive for a year and a
half to two years. This is a 2010 Genesis Coupe in an awesome Acqua
Minerale Blue Metallic with Carbon Fiber ground effects, hood, and wing.
Currently the car has 38xxx miles. I am the second owner of about 2
and a half years now. The previous owner daily drove Project Ninja
while he had it, which eventually I purchased and had shipped from Texas
to Morgantown WV. Now as anyone who has ever lived in Morgantown has
experienced, the roads are not great... so I ended up taking this car
back to my home town of Shepherdstown WV to reside after ground
clearance scares. The car looks beautiful, but it does have its daily
driven blemishes as you would expect, especially in a lowered car. The
body kit has some spider cracks on the front and side skirts, I was
going to either wrap it with a carbon fiber vinyl to give it the cleaner
new CF look, or sand and reclear the parts, but I have decided to move
on from having a fast sports car now instead.
The car was professionally built in Dallas Texas by a well renound tuner shop called Jotech Motorsports... seriously, go to google and type in "Record Setting Genesis Jotech Motorsports" and it will pop up with the mod list and picture of the car on the dyno with the whp numbers. Now on that note, that dyno (587 whp) was on a larger turbo (Precision 6262 Turbo), the car has a slightly smaller turbo now (Precision 5858 Turbo). With the larger turbo, the car was not hitting full powerband until getting really up there in the RPMs, so the smaller turbo was installed to hit full power quicker and not worry about detonating the motor. Here is a list of the modifications done by Jotech Motorsports: •Precision 5858 Turbo •Custom Jotech Turbo Manifold •Custom Jotech Downpipe •Tomei Titanium Exhaust •Manley Forged Internals •GSCS1 Cams •Ferrea Titanium Valve Springs & Retainers •ARP Head Studs •Port & Polished Head by Portflow •Golden Eagle Iron Sleeves •Golden Eagle Custom Intake Manifold •Injector Dynamics 1,000CC Injectors •Honda Throttle Body & Pedal Assembly •Garrett Front Mount Intercooler •Custom Jotech Intercooler Piping •Tial Blow-Off Valve and Wastegate •ClutchMasters Stage 5 Clutch Kit •Cusco 1.5 Rear Differential •Short Throw Shifter •Beyond Redline Dual Fuel Pump Assembly •Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator •S2 Carbon Work Oil Catch Can •GT Spec Front Strut Bar •ProEFI Tuning Solution •Custom Jotech Street/Dyno Tune •Megan Racing Coilovers •Enkei RPF1 Wheels •Brembo Big Brakes •Painted Calipers •Ark Performance Drilled & Slotted Rotors •Ark Carbon Fiber Lip Kit •Carbon Fiber GT-R Spoiler •HKS Carbon Fiber Intake Duct •VIS AMS Carbon Fiber Hood •AEM Digital Gauges •Custom Jotech Gauge Mounts •GReddy Profec B Boost Controller •Volk RAYS Racing Lug Nuts •Custom Jotech LED Headlights •Jotech Lowbeam/Highbeam HID Kit •SuperLux Taillights Now, even with this car downtuned right now to ~380whp and only 16lbs of boost, this is still a very powerful car, with even more untapped potential if you go higher boost and use E85 or some other performance fuel. This is not a type of car for a first time sports car shopper, I recommend this as a car that someone truely loves the idea of, the look of, and the fact that 7/10 people don't think this is a genesis. I have regularly gotten "Is that a GTR" (I guess it's the wing and the front grill?), or "Is that the g35/37?" nope... same body lines though! This car is a serious head turner... if you like people asking you what it is, people complementing you how your car looks and sounds (happened twice on the way to work today when I stopped for gas and a Monster), or the angry look of boyfriends because their girlfriends are looking at your car, then this is perfect for you *hint hint nudge nudge* I am asking for $22,000 OBO for the car as it is. There is a lot of time and money invested in this thing, and I know that you never see the amount you dump into it, and this is only a fraction of the full cost of the build. Shoot me an offer, worst that I can say is no! No joy rides though! If you want a test drive and are interested but do not have money in hand, I will gladly take it around the area and drive it however you want to see it perform. If you have money in hand, well I'll toss you the keys and jump in the passenger seat and show you the best roads to go on! This car is also listed locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if someone local purchases the vehicle. Thanks for looking! |

2019 Hyundai Nexo Quick Spin Review | A better hydrogen fuel cell crossover
Tue, Mar 20 2018PYEONGCHANG, S. Korea — When we travelled to South Korea to test out the new Hyundai Santa Fe, we also got a chance behind the wheel of the new hydrogen-powered Nexo fuel-cell SUV. Hyundai unveiled the Nexo at CES in January as a replacement for the Tucson Fuel Cell, which logged miles and gathered data in 18 countries over the course of its generation. The Nexo is an improvement: It's more efficient, packed with smarter driver assistance technologies and, in our opinion, is more attractive. With a clean an uncluttered exterior, it has a familiar crossover profile, but the front end, is a little more unique with a large grille and uber-thin lighting tucked high under the front of the hood. The rear end offers a lot of blank sheet metal, which looks fetching in white. Aerodynamic vents behind the rear quarter windows open up at the back of the car beneath a sporty-looking spoiler. But it's the clean, sustainable future that its hydrogen fuel may provide that's most important. Which is not to diminish the benefits battery electric cars offer in the interim — and likely for the foreseeable future — but renewable electricity is intermittent. So how does one store massive amounts of clean electricity for long periods to use when it's not readily available? Hydrogen electrolysis – using an electric current to decompose regular water into oxygen and hydrogen. The beautiful thing about the abundant element is that it can be converted back to electricity, either on a grid-scale, or in the fuel cell of a passenger vehicle. (The less beautiful thing is how to store hydrogen safely, but that's another story.) Our first stint inside the vehicle took place in the back seat, where we had plenty of legroom and clean surroundings. The interior was white and grey with matte silver metallic trim. The plastics in the Nexo aren't particularly soft, but somehow Hyundai makes them look premium with fine grains and patterns — one of the tricks Hyundai uses to make its affordable cars feel like higher-end automobiles. We were comfortable back there, especially with rear seat heaters to ward of the winter chill in the Korean mountains as we drove past the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang. When it came our turn to get behind the wheel, we felt right at home in the comfortable driver's seat. The steering wheel was attractive in its two-tone leather, and smooth to the touch.
Next Hyundai Santa Fe carries Kona cues
Tue, Jun 20 2017Last week we showed you Hyundai's newest and smallest crossover, the Kona. This week, we bring you the newest version of Hyundai's largest crossover, the Santa Fe, albeit beneath much camouflage. There's a bigger connection between these two vehicles than just timing and size contrast, though. They appear to share some styling cues. We can see through the vinyl draperies on the nose and tell that it has an aggressive version of the Hyundai cascading grille, much like the Kona. It also has the slender top headlight element combined with larger, separate elements lower in the fascia, again like the little crossover. The camouflage also fits closely enough to the body to reveal that the main grille will be flanked by large vents that encompass the lower headlamps. We also see some Recaro racing seats through the windshield, but we doubt those will make production. Prove us wrong, Hyundai! Moving to the sides and tail, there are fewer details to discern. The size looks similar to the current model, and the roofline and window lines also look similar. The rear taillights do look slimmer than those on the present Santa Fe. As for when we may see this updated Santa Fe, we wouldn't expect a reveal until next spring at the earliest, possibly next fall, as a 2019 model. The reason for this is primarily the fact that the current Santa Fe was just refreshed for 2017, so Hyundai will likely give that update a little bit of breathing room. Recharge Wrap-up: Hyundai/Kia fined $755M for exaggerated MPG ratings; BMW dealers want more i8s
Sat, Jan 24 2015The fine against Hyundai and Kia has grown to $755 million for overstating fuel economy ratings. $360 million of that fine comes from the EPA for violation of the Clean Air Act: $100 million is a civil penalty, $210 million is a forfeiture of greenhouse gas credits and another $50 million will pay for independent fuel economy audits on future models. The remaining $395 million is a settlement for customers who purchased the affected vehicles. A slew of 2011 to 2013 models were found to have fuel economy ratings overstated by one to six miles per gallon. Customers will be awarded funds to offset the unexpected fuel costs or to put toward a new Hyundai or Kia vehicle. Read more at Hybrid Cars. BMW dealers are awaiting details on new dealership standards - and BMW i8 models for their showroom floors. According to BMW National Dealer Forum Chairman Steve Late, BMW dealers are anxiously waiting to see what sort of updates they'll need to do to get in line with BMW's Future Retail 2016 program. As for the new EVs, Late says that the BMW i3 sales were slow to start, but that once people learned more about it, "wham, bam, it is taking off." The i8 shortage is a bigger problem: "I was allocated three for 2014, and I have a waiting list of 47 people. This year, maybe I will get eight or 10, and I still won't be able to fulfill them." Still, Late says he won't sell the cars at an upcharge. Read more at Automotive News. Opel is reportedly planning an electric version of its Karl hatchback. According to German automotive magazine Autobild, Opel will begin selling the diminutive Karl EV by the end of 2018. The electric car will offer a driving range of about 93 miles. The gasoline-powered version is expected to begin deliveries this June. Read more at Automotive News Europe. PSA Peugeot Citroen says it will keep its Hybrid Air program alive as it looks for a cost-sharing partner. Hybrid Air technology uses a compressed air hybrid system to improve fuel economy as we saw in the Peugeot 208 Hybrid Air concept. A French newspaper reported that Hybrid Air won't make it to commercialization, and that the program's team of engineers has been reduced. A PSA spokesperson confirms the change to the program, saying, "We are now waiting for another partner to help us begin the production stage." Read more at Automotive News Europe. Related Video:
