This awesome 2007 Hyundai Accent Hatchback has been a wonderful problem-free vehicle for us for the past couple of years, but as both my husband and I work within walking distance of home, we have decided to sell it.  The car had one prior owner, who took excellent care of the car and drove it infrequently on account of being from New York and using public transportation often.  We too have not put many miles on it, so it has very low mileage for being a 2007 (under 29K).

We are non-smokers and without pets, as was the previous owner, and the car is very clean inside and out.  The interior is in excellent condition and is free of tears and stains, aside from normal wear to carpeted floor mats as you can see in photos.  The AC works fabulously and is super cold.  Love the hatchback feature - lots of room in the back for a small car.  It is complete with 6 standard airbags:  dual front, front seat-mounted side-impact airbags and roof mounted side curtain airbags.

MPG on this little zippy car is excellent, and gets approximately 32 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway.  It has a CD player with 6 speakers, and sounds great.

We have completed scheduled maintenance and taken excellent care of the vehicle, and we haven't needed to do any major repairs.  It passed inspection just a few days ago, so it is all set for the coming year.  It has a few small cosmetic dings and scratches, which I have pointed out in the photos.  They are all very small.  The car was involved in a minor accident when my husband rear-ended a car.  You can see from the photos that the body shop did a beautiful job with the repairs, as it looks brand new.  Air bags were not deployed.

Hyundai offers many different types of warranties on their vehicles, some of which only apply to the original owner.  However, several limited warranties apply to the vehicle regardless of a change in ownership and are transferable to subsequent owners.  These warranties include the "No Rust" Anti-Perforation warranty (7 years, no mileage restriction), Emissions Performance (8 years/80K miles for some emissions-related components), Emissions Design and Defect, Emissions Control System, and Replacement Parts and Accessories warranty.  I have all of the handbooks and original materials that came with the car with all of the detailed information on the various warranties through Hyundai.

Please check out the photos and let me know if you'd like to see any additional photos.  Payment shall be made through PayPal, and buyer is responsible for pick-up from Austin, TX.  Thanks for looking!

2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo: June 2013

Fri, 12 Jul 2013

There are an awful lot of good reasons to get into the Hyundai Veloster family and formula. This car looks good, is loaded out with tech and offers a great deal of practicality in a small form factor. One good reason not to consider a Veloster, at least if you're a city dweller or have primarily urban daily driving path, is the turbocharged 1.6-liter engine in the eponymous Veloster Turbo.
Two major factors kill the Veloster Turbo in terms of said city driving: turbo lag and fuel economy.

How feasible is Hyundai's HCD-15 Santa Cruz pickup?

Tue, Jan 13 2015

When the silk finally slipped off Hyundai's HCD-15 Santa Cruz concept at the Detroit Auto Show on Monday, it was tangible, four-wheeled confirmation following years of rumors that the Korean automaker has been investigating the pickup market. Yet despite strong early critical and online reception, the likelihood of a production Hyundai pickup remains muddy at best. To be clear, Hyundai officials tell Autoblog there's nothing remotely production-ready lurking below the Santa Cruz's skin – it's a what-if concept designed to gauge customer reaction. But company officials say Hyundai is seriously investigating the possibility of a production pickup, and the company firmly believes that there's a market for a small, efficient unibody truck. According to John Krsteski, Manager at Hyundai Design North America, who spearheaded the project, Hyundai "is spending a lot of time right now still going through some studies on which types of platforms – whether it's a unique platform. It could be based on something like a Tucson ... we've looked at several different options." While Krsteski indicated that a platform hadn't been arrived at – and would likely need modifications – he says "it's definitely feasible." The Santa Cruz concept has a number of eye-catching features that would seem tough to produce – namely the slide-out rear bed extender that Krsteski says was influenced by the drawer-style ovens and dishwashers increasingly found in high-end kitchens. "We've had a couple of engineers in the studio and we did some study models on it, and we do think it's feasible – especially based on how we could package that inside there." With the extension in place, the small bed is large enough for a motocross bike to fit in on an angle. So what's next for the Santa Cruz? Hyundai has some internal studies it has completed and others that remain ongoing, and the company will work to gauge consumer response to the vehicle at auto shows and other events. Hyundai Motor America is clearly excited about the California-born project, but the toughest hurdle to a production pickup will likely be getting approval from headquarters in Korea. To that end, we've been led to understand that it was both telling and strategic that the Hyundai press conference was packed with Korean executives, who were on-hand in part to gauge media reaction to the Santa Cruz.

Hyundai Genesis V8 HTRAC may come with performance orientation

Mon, 20 Jan 2014

When the second-generation Hyundai Genesis arrives in dealers, customers looking for the new all-wheel-drive variant will need to settle for the 3.8-liter V6. This is no bad thing, as the V6 is a sound engine, but what if you want that brawny, 429-horsepower, 5.0-liter V8? For now, you're stuck spinning the rear wheels.
A report from AutoGuide, though, claims that the new HTRAC all-wheel-drive system could be mated up to the Genny Sedan's optional V8 engine at a later date, as part of a new performance version. According to spokesman Miles Johnson, a performance-minded Genesis, perhaps in the same vein as the first-generation R-Spec, is being looked at by the powers that be at Hyundai and that there "may be a market demand for such a model."
Whether it'd add on to the V8's 429 ponies, or simply shore up other parts of the car while adding the AWD system remains to be seen. Of course, if we hear any more on an AWD, V8-powered, performance version of the new Genesis Sedan, we'll be sure to let you know.
