FOR SALE BY OWNER:

I have for sale my dark blue 2002 HYUNDAI SONATA GL V6 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CAR.

This is an amazing car, I am the second owner. The original owner put the majority of the low mileage on the car commuting back and forth to work from Fishkill to Westchester NY everyday and these were all highway miles.

I also purchased this car as a commuter vehicle to go back and forth to work so the miles on this car are approximately 90-95% HIGHWAY MILES:

CAR DETAILS:

2002 HYUNDAI SONATA GL
DARK/NAVY BLUE
V6 A/T TRANSMISSION
104,XXX MILES
GREY & BLUE FABRIC/VINYL INTERIOR

NO MAJOR PROBLEMS OR ISSUES, THIS CAR JUST HAD
A LOT OF UPGRADES/FIXES AND SOME $$$ PUT INTO IT
TO ENSURE THAT.

I LOVE THIS CAR AND I WOULD LOVE TO KEEP IT BUT I JUST PURCHASED ANOTHER VEHICLE AND I CANNOT AFFORD TO KEEP BOTH SO SADLY THIS CAR MUST GO....

MY LOSS = YOUR GAIN:

The only minor issues with the car is the airbag light is on, though this is not a big deal as this is a very cheap fix, if you wish to, but a car does not need airbags to pass NYS INSPECTION.
In fact, it just passed inspection a little over two months ago, current inspection is good until MARCH 31, 2014.

The vehicle body is in great shape and shows normal/typical ware for a vehicle of its age.

There are a few minor/typical scuffs and scratches, as expected but not major.

There is only one tiny spot below the gas fill that is just starting to rust.

These great cars are like Honda's in that they last for 250,000 - 300,000 MILES AND THEY EITHER DO NOT RUST OR ONLY VERY LITTLE AT THE END OF ITS LIFE!!

This is a very powerful big V6 motor, unlike the current sonatas, yet it still gets very good gas mileage, the perfect trade-off!

The only other issue, again minor, is the bumper. The first owner's children put stickers on the bumper that left a little sticker residue, they also put some scratches on the bumper while playing and broke a very small piece off the bottom under-side of the bumper, a triangle shape, which is not really noticeable unless you look for it. Again, these things are all minor, and if you really care to do it, you could fix it all for under $75-100 easily..

Thats it for the minor nuisances!

Now onto the good and the NEW!

The following has all been completed within the past 2-6 months:

-BRAND NEW FRONT SUB-FRAME
-BRAND NEW POWER STEERING PRESSURE LINE
-BRAND NEW INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES (ALL FOUR)
-RECENT OIL CHANGE (NOT DUE AGAIN FOR 1K MILES)
-BRAND NEW BOSCH ICON WIPER BLADES ($60) about 1 month ago
-BRAND NEW GAS CAP

I PUT 4 NEW TIRES ON THE CAR ABOUT 5 MONTHS AGO SO YOU WILL BE GOOD FOR QUITE A WHILE (at the very least, should make it to winter just fine before needing new tires again)!

I had the oil changed and all fluids maintained every 3,000 MILES MINIMUM AND I HAVE MOST IF NOT ALL SERVICE RECORDS FOR THE CAR.

I have posted some exterior photos really quickly now and I will be posting the interior and more photos later when I get home.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE DO NO HESITATE TO EMAIL JUSTIN!

THANK YOU!

Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles

Mon, May 13 2024

It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.

5 Hyundai and Kia models have higher-than-average fire insurance claim rates

Wed, Jan 23 2019

DETROIT — Owners of five Hyundai and Kia cars and SUVs file fire insurance claims at a rate far higher than the average for comparable vehicles, according to an insurance industry study. The Highway Loss Data Institute, which analyzes data from insurers representing about 85 percent of the U.S. industry, found that some Hyundai and Kia vehicles equipped with four-cylinder engines have double the noncrash fire claim rates than the average of comparable vehicles. Last week the South Korean brands announced they would recall about 168,000 vehicles to fix a fuel pipe problem that can cause fires. The problem stems from improper repairs during previous recalls for engine failures. They also announced additional sensor software for another 3.7 million vehicles. Hyundai and Kia started recalling 1.7 million vehicles in 2015 — about 618,000 of which are Kias — because manufacturing debris can restrict oil flow to connecting rod bearings. That can cause bearings in 2-liter and 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines to wear and fail. The problem can also cause fires. The repair in many cases is an expensive engine block replacement. Results of the Arlington, Virginia-based institute's study have been turned over the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which is investigating engine failures and fires in Hyundai and Kia vehicles. The agency is mostly closed this week due to the partial government shutdown. Hyundai said Tuesday that the majority of its models in the study are already being recalled or are part of additional actions to keep customers safe. "Hyundai actively monitors and evaluates potential safety concerns, including non-collision fires, with all of its vehicles and acts swiftly to recall any vehicles with safety-related defects," spokesman Michael Stewart said. Kia spokesman James Bell said the company is cooperating with NHTSA "and will take any necessary corrective action in a timely manner." Many of the fires involve vehicles included the engine failure recall and could have been prevented if owners had the recall repairs done, he wrote. The institute began studying fire claims after the Center for Auto Safety petitioned NHTSA last year seeking a wider recall of Hyundai and Kia vehicles. The center had found a higher-than-normal number of consumer complaints about Hyundai and Kia fires in the agency's database. NHTSA has used Highway Loss Data Institute studies in the past to help make recall decisions.

Hyundai Sante Fe gets zombie survival machine treatment for NY Comic-Con

Sat, 05 Oct 2013

Surviving a zombie invasion isn't easy, and Hyundai takes life-or-undead situations pretty seriously, as made clear by its devotion to creating zombie-annihilating vehicles. Earlier this year, Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead comic series that gave birth to the hit television series of the same name, designed a Zombie Survival Machine around a Hyundai Veloster hatchback.
This year, TWD fan Anson Kuo has conjured up a Santa Fe sports utility vehicle capable of mowing down hoards of zombies with extra room for passengers and supplies. Hyundai says Kuo's design was built by Galpin Auto Sports and will be unveiled at New York Comic-Con on October 10.
"We love Anson Kuo's take on this Santa Fe Zombie Survival Machine - it's creative... and deadly," says Steve Shannon, vice president of marketing for Hyundai Motor America.
