I am offering my 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe for sale due to an upcoming job transfer. I will not need a second vehicle since I will not be commuting. I purchased the vehicle Brand New in March, 2011. Since I have put 60,571 HIGHWAY miles as a result of a 100 mile per day commute to and from work. I have performed routine maintenance religiously. I completed oil changes on average every six (6) weeks for the entire life of the vehicle (3,000 mile intervals). The air filter and cabin air filters have been changed several times, including recently. The windshield wipers were replaced a few weeks ago. This Genesis Coupe is outfitted with a set of Goodyear Eagle Sport tires with 4,000 miles on them. The car is due for a Virginia safety inspection this month and WILL be performed prior to delivery of the vehicle to confirm the mechanical soundness to which I have eluded. Again, I am selling my baby because I simply do not want the added expense of a second vehicle...fuel, insurance, taxes, etc. I am the original owner and I have ALL maintenance receipts. I am a non-smoker and somewhat of a neat freak. The cigarette lighter has NEVER been used. The backseat has NEVER been used either...it's too small (LOL...just kidding)! This has been my daily driver / commuter, thus leading to the 60,571 miles, but these are "good" miles. The engine is operated at high temperatures which is optimal for maintaining a clean fuel system. Not like stop-and-go traffic which is damaging. It also leads to minimal brake wear on the interstate as opposed to city streets. There is a balance of the 10 year / 100,000 mile factory warranty remaining which is fully transferrable. I am including a custom "Heat Shield" windshield sun screen with this sale as pictured. If you are in the market for a well-maintained, clean Genesis Coupe then look no further. ALL SERIOUS, REASONABLE offers will be considered. I am motivated to sell, but not desperate. Now comes the legal stuff. I, personally, am NOT offering any warranty, expressed or implied, other than the remaining Hyundai FACTORY warranty. The buyer is responsible for vehicle pick-up or shipping. I also require a deposit at the time of purchase which will either be refunded at the time of delivery or applied to the remaining balance at your discretion. However, the deposit will NOT be refunded if payment in full is NOT made in FULL within 7 days of the close of the auction (sale). Please have your finances arranged prior to buying. I will NOT assist with financing or accept anything less than the agreed upon sale price. Thank you for your understanding. Now, my name is Stacy A. Zimmerman. I am a real person legitimately selling a real vehicle. PLEASE do not attempt to "play" me. I have sold many cars over the years and have seen every trick in the book, especially, the one where the buyer sends "extra" funds for the so-called shipping expense that is to be sent back to them prior to the sale. Whatever! I went through this with a BMW Z4 I sold several years ago. The FBI cleared up that situation rather quickly. So, PLEASE BE REAL. You can call me with ANY questions or concerns ANYTIME @ (540) 487-1313. My name is Stacy and I will do my very best to help you any way I can. I would like to sell this car before Christmas. My job transfer takes effect December 28th. It would make a nice Christmas gift come to think of it. I will have the state inspection done here in Virginia for your piece of mind. I assure you this car is sound. The photos should attest to this. There are some minor chips and scratches, but nothing significant. There is one deep scratch near the bottom, front that I have documented. White, believe it or not, is cooler and does not show dirt like you would think. Thanks for looking and I hope to hand you both sets of keys soon. I do have all the original paperwork and manuals, including the window sticker. Thanks again and HAPPY HOLIDAYS! STACY Z.

No N performance models for Genesis, but Hyundai might get a Tucson N

Mon, May 22 2017

Although Hyundai still hasn't fully revealed its first N product, the i30 N that we will see with an Elantra badge, the company is apparently hard at work at various N-branded follow-ups. The head of the N performance division, Albert Biermann, spoke with Australia's Drive, and revealed some unexpected details about the future of the division. Among the surprises was the revelation that there are no plans for Genesis N models. This is a bit of a shock considering that just last year, Biermann told us that there was a five-year plan in place for N products, and that Genesis vehicles were part of that plan. Among the vehicles that are coming, Biermann said the division is developing a B-segment vehicle and an SUV. The B-segment car is likely the European i20 hatchback. Hyundai uses the i20 for World Rally Championship, so it would only make sense to capitalize on that association. As for the SUV, Drive believes it is the Tucson, since Biermann mentioned the little crossover quite a bit when speaking to the publication. The Tucson would also be the most logical candidate for an N variant, since it's currently the smallest crossover in the Hyundai line-up. As such, it should be the easiest to make sporty, since it's inherently lighter and more maneuverable than other crossovers in the lineup. Biermann also seemingly revealed that the next N-badged car after the i30 N hatchback will be a "fastback" version of the same car, which Drive describes as a coupe. We don't expect this to be a traditional compact coupe, though. Last year, AutoEvolution reported that Hyundai would release a coupe-like five-door version of the i30 in the vein of the Audi A7 and A5 Sportbacks. This also seems more likely than a traditional coupe since Hyundai ceded the segment to the Civic with the death of the previous Elantra coupe in 2015, and its Kia Forte Koup cousin this year. 2016 Hyundai Veloster Turbo Rally Edition Quick Spin [w/video]

Wed, Oct 14 2015

Our year-long test of the Hyundai Veloster Turbo was a mixed experience. There were plenty of not-very-nice anecdotes about the blown Hyundai – at one point, our own Managing Editor Steve Ewing suggested we "stop thinking of the Veloster Turbo as a proper hot hatch," and Senior Editor Seyth Miersma said it was a car that "doesn't feel especially hot-hatchy." We felt this way despite the car's overt hot-hatch trappings: the red turbo badging, matte-gray paint, upgraded body kit, huge center-exit exhaust pipes, and sticky Michelin tires. Our reaction to this Rally Edition was lukewarm when it debuted earlier this year at the Chicago Auto Show. You can imagine, then, our trepidation with the arrival of the matte blue tester. As it turned out, a week behind the wheel proved that Hyundai has addressed a number of the complaints we lodged during our prior year-long Veloster test. Driving Notes There was only so much Hyundai could do to the Veloster during this year's mid-cycle refresh. That means the 1.6-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder is still there, writing checks its performance can't cash. We still get 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque, the latter of which is available between 1,750 and 4,500 rpm. Despite the generous torque spread, there's no sense of urgency with this engine. Pair that with the still persistent turbo lag, and the Veloster Turbo feels slower from behind the wheel than other hot hatches, even less powerful competitors like the Fiat 500 Abarth. There were a number of complaints about our Veloster Turbo's fuel economy during our year behind the wheel. At 24 miles per gallon, this Rally Edition managed to come in just under the EPA-estimated 25-mpg city rating, improving measurably on the less than 22 mpg Senior Editor Miersma returned in his long-term wrap-up. Still, we were four mpg below the 28-mpg combined rating in what was largely mixed driving. Aside from the unchanged powertrain, the Rally Edition brings a lot to the Veloster Turbo package worth liking. The inclusion of a B&M Racing short-throw shifter makes this gearbox not only easier but also far more enjoyable to manipulate, although the gearing is still too tall for our taste. The shift knob is just the right size, and the shift action feels rifle-bolt precise. It is delightful, aside from an annoying, almost inexcusable flaw, which you can see in the video below.

Hyundai Group invests $90 million in Rimac to develop electric halo cars

Tue, May 14 2019

The Hyundai Group is the next large automaker to make pilgrimage to Croatia, all for the purpose of investing 80 million euros ($90 million) in Rimac. Hyundai has chipped in 64 million euros ($72 million), while Kia added 16 million euros ($18 million). The tie-up puts a much faster spin on the South Korean automaker's electrification goals, with current plans to get 44 "eco-friendly models" on sale by 2025. Developing products with Rimac means working up two proper halo models to lead the charge. The press release stated Hyundai's intent to "to lead the high-performance electrified vehicle market and enhance its status as a game changer in Clean Mobility." According to Thomas Schemera, EVP of the group's product division, "Our goal is to popularize electric vehicles and to create social value through world-class technology and innovation in performance." The Hyundai Kona Electric, Ioniq and Nexo, and the Kia Soul EV and Niro EV have all won praise, but won't be enough in their current forms to garner the attention Hyundai and Kia desire. We'll see first fruits as soon as next year. Two high-performance electric prototypes are expected to debut, one being a battery-electric vehicle, the other a hydrogen fuel cell EV. The battery-powered offering will be a zero-emission version of Hyundai's mid-engined sports car for the N division. This has been in the works for seven years now, with three concepts put on show starting with the Veloster Midship in 2014. The RM15 followed a year later, the RM16 N (pictured) a year after that. The automaker didn't indicate what the FCEV would be. The aim, however, is to bring both to marker "at a later time." On Rimac's side, the investment helps the small Croatian on its quest for Tier 1 Supplier status. Only ten years old and employing about 500 people, Rimac has supplied technology to Aston Martin for the Valkyrie, Jaguar for the E-Type Zero, Koenigsegg for the Regera, and Pininfarina for the PF0. Porsche bought a ten-percent stake in Rimac last year, following a 30-million-euro investment from Chinese battery maker Camel Group to take a 19-percent stake. The Eastern European concern remains focused on its own bowtie-inspired hypercars as long as founder Mate Rimac leads, though. As he told Motor Trend in April, "Of course I'm very passionate about helping other manufacturers build their cars. But if the shareholders decide it doesn't make sense to produce our own cars, they we'll have to find another CEO."
