2012 Hyundai Elantra

Bought new September 26, 2012 with only 64 miles on it. One Owner. 6 speed manual. Clutch is in great shape. Shifts perfectly. Idles great. Gets over 36 mpg constantly. If you drive it easier you can get 43. The motor is in amazing shape. Oil changed every 3k. The paint is in great shape. Paid an extra $2000 for the paint from the dealer. The tires were replaced less than a year ago  and have great tread/grip. The interior is clean. Just got it professionally detailed. Mileage will go up as I drive it every day.

Vehicle was in one fender bender where the bumper was replaced. The frame was not bent. Prices collision center fixed it.

Reason for sale:

I'm tired of paying car payments. I still owe money on the car. The car is with Capitol Bank in Brentwood, TN. If you win this bid or decide to purchase this car I will get you in contact with the bank for peace of mind. They told me it would only take 2 weeks to get the title after the loan is paid. I will also provide bill of sale and anything else to put your mind at ease. This is a chance to get a great car for a great price.

Call me privately 615-400-8515 to discuss price or view the vehicle. Lowballs will be ignored. Please use KBB as a guideline. I reserve the right to sell the car locally. It will be for sale on craigslist, autotrader and cars.com.

The car is located in Nashville, TN.

I would literally drive this car across the U.S. 1000 times and nothing would break. Very dependable and solid car.

All new Hyundai Elantra revealed in Korea

Wed, Sep 9 2015

After thoroughly teasing the next-generation Elantra, Hyundai is finally unveiling its latest sedan for the South Korean market (where it's called the "Avante"). While the names might be different, expect the revised model to look just like this for the North American debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. Although, the powertrain range might be tweaked when crossing the Pacific. Hyundai is reworking the swoopy Fluidic Sculpture design language into a sleeker, simpler shape for the latest Elantra, and the company calls the new direction "Modern Premium." Up front, there's a big hexagonal grill to grab attention, and it's matched with squinting headlights on each side. The roof now simply flows back elegantly to the trunk, and the sides are left largely unadorned beyond an understated crease along the shoulders. At the rear, narrowing taillights stretch horizontally across the trunk. Also, while the upgraded styling is meant to make the Elantra look low and wide, the dimensions grow less than an inch in length and width. Beneath the upgraded design is a revised platform that's made of 53 percent advanced high strength steel, versus 32 percent before. The result is a stiffer frame that Hyundai claims leads to better crash test results and lower NVH. Drivers get added security from a safety suite that includes autonomous emergency braking, high beam assist, blind spot detection, and rear cross traffic alert. Hyundai is clear that powertrains can vary with region, but South Koreans get three choices in the Avante. A 1.6-liter gasoline-fueled four-cylinder offers 130 horsepower and 119 pound-feet of torque, and a 1.6-liter diesel makes 134 hp and 221 lb-ft. There's also a 2.0-liter petrol mill running on the Atkinson cycle that produces 147 hp and 132 lb-ft. Rumors suggest North America might get the turbocharged 1.6-liter from the latest Tucson with 175 hp and 196 lb-ft. Hyundai Motor Holds World Premiere of All-new Elantra in Korea 09 September, 2015 • Hyundai Motor's best-selling model evolves with innovative design • Award-winning compact sedan inspires driver confidence with enhanced performance and stable handling • Class-leading convenience and safety features are tailored to customer needs September 9, 2015 – Hyundai Motor Company, South Korea's largest automaker, today unveiled the 'All-new Elantra (named Avante in Korea)', a sophisticated evolution of the brand's long-established compact sedan.

Watch Indian cars fail Global NCAP crash tests miserably

Tue, May 17 2016

It's taken for granted that cars currently for sale in Western countries pass crash tests, and often merit four- or five-star safety ratings in NCAP or NHTSA tests. This is why these scores attained by Indian market cars are so galling: seven vehicles currently sold in India got zero stars in any category – a horrifying clean sweep. It is understandable that cars sold in a developing market are cheap and equipment levels are low, but acceptable crash safety is something that should be considered essential in all markets. The cars tested in the Global New Car Assessment Programme were Hyundai's Eon, Maruti Suzuki's Eeco and Celerio models, Mahindra's Scorpio SUV and several Renault Kwid models. All of the cars were manufactured in India for the Indian market, and the Mahindra Scorpio was the sole larger car. It was first introduced in 2002, with updates made in 2006 and 2014. Mahindra has long planned to export its vehicles to the United States, with the likeliest version a pickup variant of the Scorpio. Renault's Kwid crossover was tested in three versions. Initially, the Kwid was tested with and without airbags, and on both accounts it scored zero stars in adult occupant protection and two stars in child occupant protection. Renault strengthened the bodyshell and the crash tests showed the updated Kwid's structure did not collapse; still, it was rated unstable and that it couldn't withstand further stress. On closer inspection, the structural reinforcements were found to be done only on the driver's side of the passenger cell. Renault has confirmed more safety updates are on their way. "We welcome Renault's efforts to correct this and we look forward to testing another improved version with airbags. Renault has a strong record of achievement in safety in Europe and it should offer the same commitment to its customers in India", says Global NCAP's David Ward. "Global NCAP strongly believes that no manufacturer anywhere in the world should be developing new models that are so clearly sub-standard. Car makers must ensure that their new models pass the United Nations' minimum crash test regulations, and support use of an airbag." The airbag-equipped Kwid was the only model of the seven cars tested that was fitted with one. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Autoblog sell-it-yourself highlight: 2012 Hyundai Genesis

Wed, Apr 12 2017

It was a business model established some 25 years earlier by Honda. The Japanese carmarker was looking for a way to profit from loyal Honda owners wanting to move upscale, but not willing to move out of Honda's orbit. The launch of Acura and two models – the upscale Legend and accessible Integra – did the trick. In the past five years, Korean carmaker Hyundai has been attempting to make its own move upmarket with its Genesis sedan and, more recently, the Genesis brand. In 2012, it was the Genesis coupe and 4-door; the coupe enjoyed an Infiniti-like vibe, while the sedan had a whiff of Mercedes in its sheetmetal and value in its window sticker. Available with V6 or V8 power and prices in the low $40s to low $50s, the Genesis four-door represented bargain luxury in an America gripped by recession. Today, a pre-owned Genesis, like our example here, extends the value argument. If this Genesis has a V8, the price point is spot-on for an example in excellent condition. If, however, it's equipped with a V6, we'd hope the seller is flexible. Related Video: Hyundai Car Buying Used Car Buying Ownership Sedan
