2003 Hummer H2. Adventure, Luxury And Off Road Packages. No Reserve. Loaded. on 2040-cars
Hampstead, Maryland, United States
No reserve auction for an excellent 2003 Hummer H2. Fully loaded with the Adventure, Luxury and Off road packages. This Hummer has everything offered in a Hummer in 2003 plus several extras. The H2 is in excellent condition and has no issues at all and runs like a top. This Hummer H2 started life as a Corporate rental in California and was Dealer services thru that part of its life. The second owner was a U. S. Coast Guard MCPO from Texas who purchase the truck in California from the dealer and moved to Texas. I am the third owner and purchased the truck from the MCPO after had moved to Cape May NJ. The Hummer has just been fully detailed inside and out and has not been driven since. We have owned the H2 for just over one year and only had it off road in a filed for a cookout. We added a Volant cold air intake system and a set of custom wheels and tires. The H2 came with a Magnaflow cat back exhaust system and otherwise is all stock and untouched. Just prior to my ownership, the battery, starter and heater control unit in the dash have been replaced. Since I have owned the H2 I have replaced the following pars: Water pump, thermostat. thermostat housing, upper and lower radiator hoses, temperature sender, temperature sender wire harness, serpentine belt and tensioner, all fluids in the engine, transmission and rears, several oil and filter changes, all new factory GM plugs, all new plug wires, three exhaust manifold bolts, valve cover gaskets and a complete driver side rear power window regulator. The factory rims were pealing and the tires were bad so we replaced them with a new set of custom black rims and a new set of Nitto Terra Grappler tires LT295/60R20 fitting perfectly in the wheel wells as the factory tires did. The wheels do not hang outside the truck. A new set of Mcgard stainless steel lug nuts and locks as well as a set of stainless steel center caps were added as well. Not shown in the pictures but also included are the third row seat in excellent condition and an outside swing away mount for the spare tire. The H2 came with the spare outside and we wanted it inside so be purchased the parts and moved it. I also have four roof bars instead of the normal two bar set up. The fourth bar is not in the pictures and all four bars are keyed the same and I have a key for them as well. The removable steps have a few wear marks on them but can easily be touched up. Fully loaded with the Bose sound system, rear video set up, sun roof, leather and every option a H2 came with and more. I am sure I have overlooked some things but know you will not be disappointed in owning this outstanding H2. Once again this is a no reserve auction and the high bidder wins a great truck with no issues. Clear Md. title in hand. |

GMC's electric Hummer could someday serve alongside the Humvee in the U.S. Army
Tue, Jul 21 2020Every civilian Hummer model traces its roots to AM General's Humvee, which made its combat debut when the United States invaded Panama in 1989. Fast forward to the 2020s, and the tables have turned. The born-again Hummer that will arrive with an electric powertrain and a GMC emblem could spawn a military-spec truck. "[The upcoming Hummer] is a full-size truck with 400 miles of range and 1,000 pound-feet of torque, it's a very highly capable vehicle. That could provide a great base platform for an electric vehicle to be used in the military context," said David Albritton, the president of General Motors Defense, in an interview with GM Authority. Although he didn't sketch out the Hummer's role in a battalion, its range, torque, and dimensions would theoretically make it well-suited to carrying soldiers, weapons, and/or gear like radio equipment. It wouldn't necessarily look like the production model (shown above in a preview image). General Motors Defense might use its basic platform and its powertrain technology to build a purpose-designed off-roader, like it did with the Colorado Infantry Squad Vehicle (ISV) it will soon begin manufacturing for the Army. The ISV shares 90% of its parts with the regular-production Chevrolet Colorado, but the two vehicles look nothing alike. Securing a contract with the American military is easier said than done, and Army officials haven't publicly expressed an interest in sending the upcoming Hummer into a war zone. We'll learn more about what a battle-ready electric truck could look like after the showroom-bound model makes its debut. In the meantime, Humvee production continues, and AM General introduced a comprehensively updated model named NXT 360 in 2018. Related Video: Â Â Green GMC Hummer Truck Electric Military
Watch the 2022 GMC Hummer EV launch using its Watts to Freedom mode
Thu, Jul 1 2021It’s nearly the July Fourth weekend, and GM is celebrating Independence Day a little earlier than most. The celebration comes in the form of a GMC Hummer EV demonstrating Watts to Freedom, or WTF, mode for us on video. You can watch it at the top of this post, but the idea is rather simple. ItÂ’s just a video of a Hummer development vehicle accelerating as quickly as it can from 0-60 mph and beyond. GMC claims its 1,000-horsepower electric Hummer is capable of hitting the 0-60 mph mark in “approximately 3 seconds,” which is borderline terrifying for how large of a vehicle it is. The super-quick time is possible when using the Watts to Freedom launch control mode, which “channels the propulsion systemÂ’s tremendous power into acceleration bursts.” The truck will still be plenty fast when accelerating normally, but WTF mode is what you should use to unlock its full potential. GMCÂ’s video shows us the graphics it uses in the digital cluster to signal Watts to Freedom is activated, and the whole sequence looks like it leans on U.S. military themes for both design and phrasing. For example, GMC lets you know that Watts to Freedom is ready via an “Armed” message in the cluster. The 2022 GMC HUMMER EV is a first-of-its kind supertruck develop View 40 Photos Instead of a rumbling exhaust and screeching tires, the Hummer appears to silently launch with all four tires grabbing on and catapulting the truck away. It looks quick as it throws all of the weight rearward into an accelerative squat. And in case you missed it, thatÂ’s a lot of weight — GMC says itÂ’ll tip the scale at 9,046 pounds. GMC has previously said that production will begin in late 2021, and this video continues to confirm that timeframe with a note saying “initial availability Fall 2021.” Do keep in mind that only the sold-out Launch Edition is coming at that time. Other cheaper variants will follow in the years to come. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Junkyard Gem: 2006 Hummer H3 SUV
Sat, Apr 27 2024After General Motors bought the rights to the Hummer brand from AM General in 1999, it continued to sell the civilianized versions of the military HMMWV that was made famous after appearing in the heavily televised Operation Desert Storm. The Hummer H1 (as it became known) never sold in large numbers, but The General decided to make everyman Hummers based on existing GM truck platforms. The Silverado-based H2 came first, debuting as a 2003 model, followed by the Colorado-based H3 as a 2006 model. Here's one of those first-year H3s, found in a Denver self-service car graveyard recently. Now it's time for some Hummer brand history. After the American Motors Corporation bought Kaiser Jeep in 1970, it spun off the fleet and military parts of that operation into a new company called AM General. The best-known AM General products for many years were the Jeep DJ Dispatchers, generally called "Mail Jeeps," and they were sold all the way through 1984. 1984 was also the year that the United States Army put the first AM General-built High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV, which soldiers pronounced "Humvee" at first but eventually adopted the "Hummer" nickname). Around the same time, militarized VW-powered sand rails were being purchased from Chenowth by Uncle Sam. After Arnold Schwarzenegger convinced AM General to build civilianized Hummers, sales of the not-so-civilized brute that became the H1 began in 1992. The H2 and H3 had the misfortune to be launched just before the Great Recession hit and fuel prices went crazy, while a couple of overseas conflicts that were much less popular than Gulf War I made grim headlines and reduced the street appeal of combat-inspired civilian wheels. The H1 got the axe in 2006; GM tried and failed to sell the Hummer brand to a Chinese manufacturer in 2010, as it struggled through Chapter 11 bankruptcy, finally giving up and killing the brand alongside Pontiac, Saturn and Saab. Then the Hummer name was revived in 2022 as an electron-fueled GMC model, and you can buy a 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV right now (though GMC's website warns of "LIMITED AVAILABILITY" in big red letters, so you might have a hard time actually taking delivery of one). The final 2010 H3s were built for Avis at Shreveport Operations, which itself shut down two years later.
