No Longer Made & In High Demand - Low Mile & Well Optioned Hummer H2

2003 Hummer H2, Luxury Edition, Only 85k Miles.  Clean CarFax! Very well optioned, Hard to find.       .... OVER 100 IMAGES BELOW ....

Miles will increase slightly as I will drive this periodically until it is sold.

These H2 machines are getting very hard to find with low miles now.  This one has only 85k documented miles.  This is HALF of the miles it should have with just around 7,700 miles a year.  This one is nicely equipped with the Lux Series package assigned the 1sc code. In addition it also has the Third Row Seat, another hard to find feature on these.  This seat brings the passenger capacity to a full 6 passenger.  The spare tire has been relocated to an external swing arm with a nice H2 cover - another highly sought after feature, freeing up additional interior cargo space.  I've been offered over $1k on more than one occasion just for the swing arm.  The front chrome grill is protected with a tubular brush guard that nicely houses add on high output spot lights.  Original heavy duty H2 floor mats as well!  Some other tasteful chrome upgrades.

Many complaints have been made about the air suspension option on these trucks.  Same as on the Escalades & the GMC luxury trucks.  The replacement cost for one shock is more than a standard replacement all the way around an entire vehicle with standard shocks.  While this vehicle did come with that option, the air struts have been removed and replaced with standard design shocks.  In doing so, this eliminates that potential large repair expense in the future.  This was done properly & the compressor systems was not compromised.  This means that you still have a functioning built in Air Compressor switch and port for filling inter-tubes, balls, etc. in the cargo area.

The truck also received an entire bottom end undercoating shortly thereafter.

Fits perfectly in my standard size garage.  It is of course a 4X4, with 4HI, 4LOW, and locking differential settings.  Leather is in great shape, no rips, tears, or excessive wear.  Interior in general is easily a 9 out of 10.  The interior front door panels could use a little attention, or this would easily be a 10 out of 10 for the interior.  NON Smoker!

The standard radio has been replaced with a current model Alpine head unit this year with working remote steering wheel controls.  The USB input for the Alpine has been extended to front storage compartment for easy hookup and storage of an ipod, iphone, ipad, etc.  You can also use the USB port for charing other usb devices such as your Android phone or tablet.  This Alpine is XM & Blue-tooth capable should you choose to add on the modules.

Nice integrated DVD entertainment center with components discreetly housed under mid bench, along with a 110v Power Inverter for any accessories you may need.  Video Screen is a drop down to allow all rear passengers good viewing.  Built in dome lights on the unit as well make for a nice professional installation.  The DVD entertainment system can also broadcast over an FM transmitter with a separate power switch so that all passengers in the vehicle can be entertained if desired.

The side and rear window have Perfect Factory Dark Tint also known as Privacy Glass.  The VIN Etching was also done to deter theft.  This truck also has some serious Heavy duty Under Armour to protect the engine and suspension components should you choose to go into rough terrain.  There is no evidence on the Armour that this has been done previously.  Concealed behind the front license plate is second hitch receptacle for whatever utility needs you may need that the rear hitch does not satisfy.

In addition to all of this, it has all the typical luxury bells and whistles; Power windows, power locks, power mirrors, memory seat, heated seats (front and rear), keyless entry, moon roof, Chrome appearance package.  Also has all of the typical features you would want in a heavy duty truck; roof racks, tubular side steps, tow package (front & back receivers), Rust Free Body, & the bulletproof 6.0 Vortec V8 Gasoline Engine!

Clean & Clear Title in hand. Clean Carfax. No Accidents.  We can finalize transaction at local Chase bank with CASH or Chase Bank Cashiers Check.

Buy With Confidence! This truck has just recently has the following maintenance completed.  Water pump, fan clutch & fan, Power Steering Pump, Alternator, Belts, Pullies, Coolant Flush & Power Steering Flush.

100% + feedback eBayer for over 15 years!

LOW Reserve.  Check book values on KBB for this truck with the correct options & miles and you will see that this is a $21k truck before the add-ons.  Don't miss out!
Buying from me instead of a dealer will save you close to $2k in taxes, fees, etc.  This is the one to have.

Small Velcro strips that are visible on the dash around the 4x4 buttons is easily removed.  Only there for a short time to hold my phone for GPS function after the new laws passed in Illinois.

Misc.
*There is an integrated K40 radar detection system with front & rear receivers which will be removed prior to sale unless the bidding exceeds $20,000. If this system is illegal in your state & you are the winning bidder, please advise as soon as the auction ends and I will remove & retain it.
*The pictures are part of the description, so please inspect them closely.  I have described this truck as best I can,  however the pictures may answer questions that you may otherwise assume the answers to.  Please inspect carefully & ask questions for a positive transaction for both of us.  Although this truck is highly sought after machine no longer manufactured, please keep in mind that it is a 2003, and so it is 11 years old & is not perfect.  As with any vehicle without a factory or extended warranty in place, this vehicle is sold "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Hummer will return as an EV nameplate in 2022

Fri, Jan 10 2020

General Motors will bring the Hummer name back to market with an electric vehicle, ending a 10-year hiatus with the introduction of a low-volume 4x4 pickup to go on sale in 2022 as part of the GMC lineup. The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that GM is working on an offering similar to Jeep's Gladiator pickup, and at least initially, the paper says, the "Hummer" name revival will not extend beyond that model.   The choice to revive Hummer as GMC gives GM flexibility in selling what it projects to be a low-volume model without having to support an entire brand, which would require dealer and service network support, which could potentially prove to be both costly and even legally challenging, as holders of existing franchises would likely want a piece of the action.  GM's choice to shutter the brand in the wake of bankruptcy and restructuring back in 2010 was met with resistance from franchise holders. At the time, Hummer's image of gas-guzzling excess ran afoul of GM's goals to produce affordable hybrid and electric vehicles for the masses.  GM wanted the Chevrolet Volt to be the public face of its future, rather than a V8-powered SUV. Unconfirmed rumors of Hummer's return have been circulating for quite some time. In June of last year, rumblings of an all-electric revival made headlines when GM president Mark Reuss professed his love for the discontinued brand.  While this report is far from official, we won't have to wait long for hard confirmation, as Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has been lined up to front the nameplate's return in a Super Bowl commercial spot. We expect the re-launch will be teased ahead of the NFL championship game on Feb. 2.  Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Luxury carmakers make way more than just cars

Tue, Feb 24 2015

Whether it's as simple as Ferrari offering model cars or as opulent as Bugatti with an $84,000-belt buckle, practically every automaker does more than just sell cars to keep their brands visible. The profits from these ventures might not be enough to keep the lights on, but in such a competitive industry, any extra cash is welcome. For the automakers that get licensing just right, there is a ton of profit to be made. According to a recent story examining the practice by The New York Times, Ferrari makes around $2.6 billion from merchandising each year, and General Motors tops that at $3.5 billion. Beyond just a profit center, merchandising can also protect an automaker's name. Take Hummer for example. The GM division shut down years ago, but it has continued to produce licensed cologne on sale around the world. "Because we still have the active fragrance, we're protecting the brand if we ever decide to bring it back," Gene Reamer, a GM licensing senior manager, told the Times. The whole piece is a fascinating look into this often ignored, but quite lucrative facet of the auto business. Read it for yourself, here. Junkyard Gem: 2006 Hummer H3 SUV

Sat, Apr 27 2024

After General Motors bought the rights to the Hummer brand from AM General in 1999, it continued to sell the civilianized versions of the military HMMWV that was made famous after appearing in the heavily televised Operation Desert Storm. The Hummer H1 (as it became known) never sold in large numbers, but The General decided to make everyman Hummers based on existing GM truck platforms. The Silverado-based H2 came first, debuting as a 2003 model, followed by the Colorado-based H3 as a 2006 model. Here's one of those first-year H3s, found in a Denver self-service car graveyard recently. Now it's time for some Hummer brand history. After the American Motors Corporation bought Kaiser Jeep in 1970, it spun off the fleet and military parts of that operation into a new company called AM General. The best-known AM General products for many years were the Jeep DJ Dispatchers, generally called "Mail Jeeps," and they were sold all the way through 1984. 1984 was also the year that the United States Army put the first AM General-built High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV, which soldiers pronounced "Humvee" at first but eventually adopted the "Hummer" nickname). Around the same time, militarized VW-powered sand rails were being purchased from Chenowth by Uncle Sam. After Arnold Schwarzenegger convinced AM General to build civilianized Hummers, sales of the not-so-civilized brute that became the H1 began in 1992. The H2 and H3 had the misfortune to be launched just before the Great Recession hit and fuel prices went crazy, while a couple of overseas conflicts that were much less popular than Gulf War I made grim headlines and reduced the street appeal of combat-inspired civilian wheels. The H1 got the axe in 2006; GM tried and failed to sell the Hummer brand to a Chinese manufacturer in 2010, as it struggled through Chapter 11 bankruptcy, finally giving up and killing the brand alongside Pontiac, Saturn and Saab. Then the Hummer name was revived in 2022 as an electron-fueled GMC model, and you can buy a 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV right now (though GMC's website warns of "LIMITED AVAILABILITY" in big red letters, so you might have a hard time actually taking delivery of one). The final 2010 H3s were built for Avis at Shreveport Operations, which itself shut down two years later.
