This is the most custom H1 Hummer you will ever see, and it is the baddest H1 Hummer in the country!  Not bragging, it's just a fact...  This is the famous storm chasing H1 Hummer from www.H1-Intercept.com and seen on TV.  If you want the meanest off-road Hummer, ultimate survival/rescue vehicle, or perfect storm chasing truck, this is it!

I've spent $500,000.00 (and still have the receipts) on this Hummer and this truck has everything, and I mean EVERYTHING!  The custom 6.6 Duramax and Allison Trans conversion was 70k alone, but worth every penny.  It went from being a slow dog to a screaming banshee.  Drives like a sports car and will outrun most everything else.  Also went from getting only 8mpg to 15 to 17mpg.  You can now also put it in 2-wheel drive for a faster/smoother ride!  It would take hours to list all the mods and upgrades on this thing so please just check out the photos to see everything that has been done to this Hummer or contact me to see it in person.

Just to name a couple things.  It has four XM radios systems, in motion DirecTV, Satellite internet, cell phone booster, Live radar system, CB, High-definition cameras, Run-flat tires, Lift kit, Shatter proof glass, etc., etc. The long Pelican case on the roof is full of tools, straps, and spare parts and antennas.  The three small Pelican cases in the back have a first aid kit, a emergency kit, and a satellite phone.  Everything else can be seen in the pictures.

Check out my website www.H1-Intercept.com for a ton more pictures of the Hummer and info about the storm chasing too if you are interested in maybe getting into storm chasing also.

I've sold out on the storm chasing every year from 2007 when I started doing tours with this Hummer.  It wasn't that hard to find just 30 people a year who wanted a once in a life time experience in this truck.  I'm only getting out of storm chasing now for some family issues.  The reserve is the amount this truck earns in just two storm seasons.

If the winning bidder is a storm chaser and wants my client list and or website also, contact me.  If the winner bidder is only interested in the Hummer, I will close the website after the sale.

This Hummer is my baby and it has been treated likewise.  You will be hard pressed to find another H1, even a bone stock one in this great of condition.

MEV rocks up with electric mini Hummer HX

2011 MEV Hummer HX - Click above to watch the video after the jump
The 2008 Hummer HX concept was supposed to be General Motors' answer to the Jeep Wrangler. To put it mildly, that failed to materialize. General Motors killed Hummer as part of its bankruptcy-induced limb severing in 2009, before the HX could be brought to fruition as the H4, as had been rumored.
For those of you who wish the HX had indeed surfaced, we have some excellent news: My Electric Vehicle, or MEV, has appropriated the HX concept, added an electric drivetrain and created the MEV Hummer HX. The MEV HX is a fully electric golf cart resort vehicle, licensed by GM and sporting Hummer wheels and skid plates.

Why didn't GM recall fire-prone Hummers earlier?

Tue, Jul 14 2015

As early as 2009, motorists reported fires in the Hummer H3. In a complaint filed that March with the regulatory agency in charge of vehicle safety, one motorist said they leaped into a smoldering vehicle and drove it away from gas pumps moments before it was engulfed in flames. Three months later, another motorist described how a fire spread from behind the glove box and consumed their H3. Dozens of car owners filed similar complaints with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the six years that followed, detailing car fires of varying severity that originated in the HVAC systems of their Hummer H3s. But General Motors didn't issue a recall for any of the affected cars until last week, prompting fresh questions about how the company treats safety concerns in the wake of an ignition-switch flaw that went unaddressed for years and, at latest count, is responsible for killing at least 124 motorists. In recall documents filed with NHTSA last week, GM initially said it knew of three fires associated with the defect. Within hours, the company said it knew of 42 fires associated with the problem and three injuries sustained by vehicle occupants. A company spokesperson attributed the inconsistency to a "misstated" number in the original documents and that the higher number comes from NHTSA complaints, reports to GM and TREAD data. Beyond that discrepancy, the documents show General Motors, which has touted a revitalized attitude toward safety concerns since the ignition-switch recalls, did nothing upon determining there was a problem with the H3s. Prompted by two complaints the company received in September 2014, General Motors says it launched an internal investigation related to melting blowers in the HVAC system on December 8, 2014. In that investigation, the company says it confirmed a problem existed, finding that "mismatched electrical conductivity could result in overheating and melting of the blower motor connector module." But even with that conclusion, the company opted to close its internal investigation on April 29, 2015, without taking any action. It wasn't until NHTSA officials met with GM representatives in a meeting on June 18, 2015, that General Motors was prompted to reconsider.

Architects design home made entirely of Hummers

Tue, 26 Jul 2011

Architects Craig Hodges and HsinMing Fung joined forces in 1984 to create their agency HplusF. Since then, the pair have gone on to apply their stylistic skill to the UCLA library, Hollywood Bowl, Egyptian Theater and a number of other works of architectural art. HplusF also tackles unique installations and showpieces, one of which involves the now-departed Hummer brand.
What could easily be a luxury apartment in the video game Fallout 3 is in fact HplusF's HummerHaus. Eight identical Hummer body shells wrap around a a steel skeleton to form a living space like no other.
Of course, this is merely a concept, but it's a rather interesting one. Could old vehicles be rehabbed into affordable living spaces? Could the Hummer body have a new lease on life after it was cut from the General Motors family?
