2001 AM General H1 Hummer Wagon - THE REAL DEAL!!  It is finished in the rare Woodland Green paint with sandstorm (tan) cloth interior.  The paint is glossy and shows exceptionally well and the non-smoker interior is super clean.  The undercarriage is clean and virtually rust-free (see pics) and still shines!  Never offroad. This H1 has the legendary 6.5 liter turbo diesel engine that is known to run forever. It has an automatic transmission.

Accordingly to the previous owner it was the last Woodland Green 2001 available in the country at the time he bought it.  It was sold out of the Seattle area and then shipped to Florida where it resided until I bought it.  We are the second owner with zero accident history and in excellent condition.

It shows like new with just a few (3 I think) very small surface scratches and a couple paint chips.  No dings or dents.  It shows exceptionally well and has less wear than could be expected for its age.  Except for the winch, it has all options for the 2001 model year including 17" one piece wheels (had run flats but they were removed by previous owner for ease of servicing), central tire inflation system, driveline protection, power / heated outside mirrors, cruise control, privacy glass, rocker panel protection, heated windshield, deluxe rearview mirror, brush guard (however the previous owner upgraded the brush guard with a factory heavy duty late model guard), power windows and the Monsoon premium audio system with CD player.  Has a/c that blows cold, power steering, ABS (note: ABS light stays on at start but goes off after about 10 ft of driving - AM General tech indicated that this means the system needs to be reset as a prior code was not cleared - no issues with system), 4 wheel disc brakes, trailer tow package and rear audio controls.

It is a stock truck with only the following changes:  PMD was relocated, injectors were upgraded, as noted above an upgraded heavy duty brush guard (OEM) replaced the light duty OEM factory item, the brush guard was painted factory Woodland Green to match the truck, the wheels are the original 17" factory items but they have been custom painted with Woodland Green inlaid paint and custom hubcaps as shown in the picture. Driver and passenger windows have been match tinted and the windshield has tint to help with the sun glare off the hood. All tinting could be removed but it is really nice. No modifications or cuts to any of the interior parts.  You don't have to worry about trying to figure out how someone cut up the interior or re-wired things - all OEM!

It has a Husky rear bedliner and a full set (4) of tan factory carpet mats and a front set of aftermarket all season mats (black).

No mechanical issues (see comment below on brakes) and everything works.  The CTIS works with a leak on the driver side rear but, based on the OEM manual, you should disconnect the CTIS when the truck sits for more than 3 days so I simply disconnect as I only drive it on weekends.

Overall this H1 is in incredible shape and it runs great and looks fantastic.  You will not be disappointed.  I would drive it anywhere without concern.

I drove it recently and noticed that the front brakes squeak occasionally so I purchased a full set of new front and rear high end AM General brake pads and AM General rotors for the front.  These will be included with the sale but the next owner will need to install as necessary.

I also have the factory tan leather kit (kit only came with two armrest covers), factory wood grain dash kit and a full set of AM General factory black rubber/carpet floor mats. All of these items are discontinued and extremely hard to find. These are not included with the auction but would be negotiable if buyer is interested in adding them to the purchase.

Clear Ohio title in-hand.  You will be required to pay any sales tax, transfer taxes, registration fees or other any other fees to register the vehicle.

We request, via Paypal, a non-refundable deposit of $500.00 within 48 hours of the close of the auction.  The balance is due in certified funds and we will not transfer title until the funds clear.  Regardless of what eBay auction page states, Paypal is for deposit only.  Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.

This is a used vehicle and does not come with any warranty, express or implied and is being sold as is, where is.

These vehicles are getting harder to find in this condition.  I reserve the right to cancel the auction in the event the vehicle is no longer available for sale.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and a Final Four of automakers | Autoblog Podcast #723

Fri, Apr 1 2022

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski. We start out with news on the Lotus Eletre and Ferrari Purosangue. These two high-end crossovers are followed by discussions about the new inline-six engines from Stellantis and an overabundance of Hummer EV orders. Next we try something we've never tried before: ranking automaker blue bloods. We took inspiration from the current NCAA tournament, which features Duke, North Carolina, Villanova and Kansas — very much traditional blue-blood basketball programs — to name our Final Four automakers. Let us know if you agree or disagree with our picks and what your definition of a blue blood car brand is. We wrap up with a discussion about the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk that Jeremy's been driving all week. Send us your questions for the Mailbag and Spend My Money at: Podcast@Autoblog.com. Best and Worst GM Cars

Thu, Apr 7 2022

Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded.  While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.
