Hello and thanks for reading!
2002 Grand Prix White Honda S2000 Rare full red interior! 118,300 miles (daily driven so it will be going up slowly) VIN: JHMAP11472T000102 I am the vehicle's fourth owner and have owned it since last summer. This car is so much fun but I want a truck or a WRX wagon! Time to get out into nature more and that's one thing she can't do. I would prefer to sell to someone from the Northeast but will help a distant buyer to arrange shipping of the vehicle if requested. Payment by cash/cashier's check or bank check is acceptable. Mods: -Gunmetal metallic SSR Integrals forged 17" staggered rims with black lugs (full set of stock rims included) -1 month old Bridgestone RE-11a's (amazing grip, low noise, excellent in wet) -Eibach Pro springs, 1.5" drop -Eibach front sway for neutral handling -AEM cold air intake with AFE Pro Dry S dry filter -Invidia Q300 70mm dual SS exhaust (stock exhaust included) -Rear axle spacers -AP2 rear differential with slightly higher gear than stock (forgot exactly what ratio) -Brand new soft top with glass rear window only used for one and a half summers -35% tinted side windows -Rick's smoked side markers -S2000 side badges deleted -Blue convex rear view and side mirrors (helps with top-up blind spots and lights) -Tall tinted fold up privacy insert for between seat backs by Rick's -Plastic inserts for seat helmet holes by Rick's (helps with wind noise by the ears) -Fully insulated front door panels with upgraded woofers, tweeters and passive crossovers. -Custom gunmetal badges to match rims -Front license plate hole fillers in white -Cool white LED cabin, trunk, license plate and backup lights -Custom fitted subwoofer box for 12" (fits in tool cutout in trunk floor and takes up no space!) -Alpine headunit -Modifry globe box organizer -Modifry soft top fix -Modifry side marker mod and LED bulbs (not installed) -Modify dash mount (not installed) Cons: -I went ahead and checked the Carfax and apparently the car has been in 3 accidents! This is really unfortunate to find out, but I would not have known it if it wasn't written out for me. Apparently the first two were fender benders and the last one popped the airbags. The frame is perfectly fine, no rust on any joints or problems with the undercarriage, handles like a go kart and alignment is great. The body panels involved in the crashes have all been replaced and resprayed and there is not a drop of rust on it, which I suppose is braggable for a car from the Northeast. Ask me any questions about this and I'll be happy to answer them or send you the screenshots of the Carfax report. -Some gears sound a little "crunchy". They have been like this since I got the car last summer. This does not happen on all gears! I want to clarify that this "crunchiness" is a sound not really a feeling and it has yet to affect the performance of a shift. No gears have slipped or missed... It sounds like worn synchros, but still functions fine, ironically smoother with more spirited driving. -Left door panel tweeter grille is missing. I was in the process of installing the upgraded tweeters and due to my own miscalculations I made a mistake that left the grille modified but unusable in the current project. The right side is unaffected. -Cracked plastic panel under the passenger side dash, barely noticeable in normal driving. -Some rubbing on large bumps from driver's side rear tire... Went from 225s in rear to 235s and that plus the slightly wider offset of the new rims pushed it out a bit too far. Fenders have been rolled already but that side needs more work. Thanks for looking and good luck! |

Honda gives itself room to delay FCV hydrogen car until June 2017
Tue, Mar 3 2015In a new press release issued to discuss vehicles on display at the Geneva Motor Show, Honda said something a bit curious about its upcoming hydrogen car. The release reads: "The FCV Concept previews an all-new fuel cell road car that is scheduled to go on sale in Japan in the first half of 2016, and subsequently in the USA and Europe within the following 12 months." The last official word was that Honda said the car would arrive in Japan in March 2016, with US and European roll-out some time after that. The new announcement gives the company some wiggle room to adjust that timeline, since 12 months after the first half of 2016 could, theoretically, be at late as June 30, 2017. So, we asked Honda North America's senior environment and safety specialist Angie Nucci if this means that the FCV will be delayed at all. She said she doesn't have additional details for the next-gen FCV availability, "other than March 2016 in Japan and then the US and Europe after. It's the same timing that we discussed in LA." In other words, we might be reading too much into this. But it's worth noting in case the timeline does slip (again). Honda claims another injury from Takata airbag failure
Tue, Apr 14 2015Honda has confirmed another injury caused by a faulty Takata airbag inflator in one of its vehicles. The incident occurred on March 20 in Florida to the driver of a 2003 Honda Civic, and according to Reuters, police and hospital reports indicated that shrapnel from the ruptured inflator struck the person in the neck. Honda has indicated that the owner was notified about the airbag at least four times – three of those for the driver's side. The mailings dated back as far as September 29, 2014, and as late as March 23, 2015, which was three days after the crash. The vehicle was eligible to receive new inflators on both sides. In March, Honda issued a high-profile warning to owners in newspapers and on the radio to get their cars fixed. The automaker also broadened its recall during the month to include 100,000 more vehicles, which brought the US total to around 5.5 million. So far, the faulty inflators have been linked to at least six deaths and 139 injuries. In one case, a woman in Florida has filed a lawsuit alleging that she became a quadriplegic when a piece of shrapnel in a 2001 Civic struck her in the neck, and an incident in Texas reportedly caused a man's death. Related Video: Statement from American Honda Motor Co., Inc. Re: Confirmed Rupture of Takata Airbag Inflator in Florida April 13, 2015 American Honda has confirmed that the Takata driver's airbag inflator ruptured in the crash of a 2003 Honda Civic on March 20, 2015 in Florida. This crash resulted in an injury to the driver of the vehicle. Our thoughts and sympathies are with the driver and his family during this difficult time. The legal representative of the owner involved in this incident has acknowledged in comments to media that a March 23, 2015 mailed notification was received by the owner. However, multiple mailed notices previously went to the same address, and none of these notices were returned as undeliverable. The vehicle involved in this crash is included in a recall affecting the passenger's front airbag inflator (14V-700) and a safety improvement campaign affecting the driver's front airbag inflator (14V-351), and our records indicate that neither of the necessary repairs was ever completed. American Honda has sent one mailed notice related to the passenger front inflator and three mailed notices related to the driver front inflator, the earliest of which was sent on 9/29/2014.
2015 Honda Civic Type R First Drive [w/video]
Fri, Jun 19 2015"VTEC just kicked in, yo." What's now a tired meme was once the greatest part of Honda ownership: the abrupt switch in power and tone as the engine's variable valve timing switched to the high-rev profile. The original VTEC gave way to i-VTEC, a continuously-variable system that works better on paper, but lacked the two-mode thrill. Fast forward to the 2015 Civic Type R, which combines modern VTEC with turbocharging for the first time on this nameplate. It's a pair as perfect as peanut butter and jelly. Or Han and Chewie. With ratings of 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet, it's the most powerful Civic ever sold. Boost just kicked in, yo. The Civic Type R has always been an object of unfulfilled desire for enthusiasts in the US and Canada. While Europe and Japan have had multiple generations of the hottest Civic, we made do with the less powerful versions carrying the Si badge. Unfortunately, the 2015 model is another one we can't have. That said, this Euro-spec car's heart will form the basis of a new Civic Type R that's coming to America, possibly as early as 2016 as a 2017 model. The US will even get a cool five-door hatchback shell similar to the one you see here. If the next North American model – previewed by the coupe concept from this year's New York Auto Show – is any indication, our tenth-generation Civic is headed in a welcome styling direction. And before the Type R arrives, sweet turbo/VTEC goodness is promised in the form of a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that will power less sporty Civic models, including an Si that will slot below the Type R. There is an anchor's worth of stopping power available. Proving how focused the new Type R is towards gearheads, the sole transmission option is a six-speed manual, which makes it easy to exploit the engine's 7,000 rpm redline and 6,500 rpm power peak. This engine-speed ceiling is a thousand revs lower than the last naturally aspirated Type R. Indeed, the era of turbocharging seems like the end of Honda's history of screaming high-rev motors. But forced induction trades revs for torque. The new car has more than twice the oomph of the previous, 198-hp Type R. Our question then, is if that power and torque come with any character. The 2015 Honda Civic Type R is a very capable car, both on the street and at the track. We expected a stiff ride, but it's not bone-jarring. Double-jointed front struts and a clever knuckle design isolate steering from the up-and-down movement of the suspension.
