Honda reveals scrambler-style CBSix50 concept at EICMA
Sat, Nov 28 2015Honda brought some seriously cool concept motorcycles to this year's EICMA show in Milan, Italy, and two of the wildest were a pair called the CBSix50 and CB4. The company based both of them on the CB650F and its four-cylinder engine, according to Lanesplitter. However, the designers overhauled the styling to imagine one of them as a scrambler that could play a little in the dirt and the other as an urban-focused naked bike. The CBSix50 (pictured above) looks ready for any environment thanks to the chunky treads on the tires, guards on the handlebars, and a skid plate to keep the vital mechanical parts safe. The camouflaged body might blend into the city a little, but the bright red accents don't allow the rider to hide completely. Honda's designers craft the CB4 concept (pictured right) to be ready for the street. The bike's body wears a modern mix of white and black, but red accents on the calipers and suspension provide a pop of color. The front features a round headlight for a more classic style than the rectangular unit on the CBSix50. The cycle also gets more traditional road tires than its sibling, and the stubby exhaust provides an aggressive look. You can easily imagine this machine slicing through crowded traffic in cities all over the world. Check them both out in the gallery above. Related Video:
NHTSA Probes Nearly 400,000 Infiniti, Honda Vehicles Over Steering Faults
Tue, Nov 11 2014As many as 391,000 vehicles from Honda and Infiniti may eventually need to be recalled as a result of two, separately announced Preliminary Evaluations from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to ascertain the scope of the potential safety hazards. In one of the queries, NHTSA is looking into 24 reports from drivers of the 2013 Honda Accord who say they had total loss of their power steering or experienced a sudden increase in the necessary effort to turn the wheel. In four cases, the problem may be linked to crashes. According to the claims, 13 people reported seeing a warning message during the failure. Turning off the car and restarting it would fix the issue in some cases. If a recall is necessary, it could affect an estimated 374,000 Accords. The second investigation is much smaller in scope. The safety agency is investigating the 2008 Infiniti EX35 after two complaints of the steering wheel shaft separating and the vehicle losing the ability to steer. Both reports say the steering became loose when driving and then completely failed once the vehicle was stopped. A recall for the problem would affect an estimated 17,000 vehicles. Honda's slate for Tokyo Auto Salon includes S2000 revival, many Mugens
Thu, 27 Dec 2012Honda has pulled back the covers on what we can expect to see at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon, including what looks to be an S2000 refresh some four years after the convertible left production. The S2000 Modulo Climax is an "exhibition model" based on the old roadster, but features updated front and rear fascias as well as an interior trimmed out in black and burgundy. Beyond that, details are scarce as hen's teeth.
Honda will also show off a number of vehicles based on the N-One mini, including the N-One Modulo Style, Mugen Racing N-One Concept and an N-One worked up by the Japan Nailist Association. That last creation features plenty of rhinestone decoration. (We wish we were joking.) Mugen will also display a tarted-up CR-V Design Study as well as the CR-Z Mugen RZ: a 300-unit specialty vehicle.
Meanwhile, the manufacturer's motorcycle arm will show off the Goldwing F6B, previously seen at EICMA 2012 as well as the CB1300 Super Four Special Edition and the NC700X. The automaker will also pepper its stand with a few of its racing machines for the public to enjoy. Check out the full press release below.
