ok up for bids is my 1989 honda prelude 2.0 s automatic i purchased this vehicle with alil bit over fourty thousand miles around two years and some months ago. the vehicle is in great shape for its age. it has very few noticable dings and some small rust around the rear wheel wells as you can see in the pictures. it has some slight peeling paint on the bumpers front and back.the vechicle has heat and ac the ac is cold but makes a ticking sound when at idle. i was told it was the compressor and that it would need to be replaced. that was two years ago and its still working,i was waiting for it to fail me before i was going to replace it,but it never failed its still working but however if the ticking sound botheres you when at idle then you should replace the compressor.the only issue that i had with the vehicle since owning it was the alternator which i had replaced last summer and at the same time i replaced the battery.i only used synthetic oil since owning the vehicle period! around three months ago i had brand new brakes and rotors all around front and back installed along with brand new front brake callipers. all were done at the same time and should have around 300 miles or so of use since then.around four months ago i had the air filter replaced along with bosh spark plugs and wires all done at the sametime.the interior is very clean for its age. vehicle has cruise control and a working sunroof. also please note that the vehicle sunroof gasket was alil torn as seen in the pic i tried to purchase a new one but to no luck so i just put a little bit of gasket seal around it because i was afraid it was going to leak. tires are ok car runs and drives .it has been sitting for around two months or so and the inspection and regiistration has since expired on jan 1st. but i have been starting it. i hope i covered everything. please come look at the vehicle start it and drive it a little before you bid on it. i am not a mechanic and cant and will not guarantee anything, anthing else please ask or call 646 529 2225 my name is ken . also the vehicle has no spare tired and the cardboard insert for the trunk but it has the carpet .i purchased it this way ,low reserve goodluck& vehicle has only 70,999 miles

Honda introducing all-new EV, PHEV models by 2018
Tue, Jan 13 2015Honda finally showed off its FCV Concept (with our first glimpse of its interior) to a North American audience at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show today, but the big news from the Japanese automaker was that the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle will be joined in the market by two new alternative fuel vehicles by 2018. One is an all-new pure battery electric vehicle and the other is an all-new plug-in hybrid. Details on the new vehicles were slimmer than the skinniest hipster jeans in all of Detroit, but the announcement shows that Honda wants to grow its portfolio of alt-fuel powertrains in the not-too-distant future. Honda currently sells the Fit EV and various Accord hybrids, and also showed off the upcoming Acura NSX here in Detroit this week. Ryan Harty, Honda's manager of environmental business development, said that these vehicles are all in service of the upcoming stricter CAFE fuel economy requirements. "Leading up to 2025 [the 54.5 mpg level], in order to meet regulation – not just US but globally – and more to meet our customer's expectations, we think big improvements in ICE engines can meet those," he said. "But also very exciting to all of us at Honda is our upcoming electromobility products. We really are building the foundational blocks to get to where we need to go after 2025." "We want to bring these vehicles to market in significant volume." - Ryan Harty That means vehicles that devour electricity. "Honda is very optimistic about the future of electromobility," Harty said, "not just the hybrids that we've already brought out but how those hybrids and our experience with fuel cell vehicles and battery electric Fit EV and Accord plug-in hybrids is giving us the confidence to launch a brand-new generation of battery electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. This will be a new sales pillar for American Honda. We want to bring these vehicles to market in significant volume." Honda says that it will also use, "further application of two- and three-motor hybrid systems" in the US. The fuel cell concept will arrive as a production version after March 2016. That is when it is scheduled to launch in Japan, with US deliveries happening some time later. In the near-term, though, expect better VTEC turbo engines to power more Honda vehicles while using comparatively less fuel. Honda says it will invest $340 million at the Anna Engine Plant in Ohio to build a new 4-cylinder engine. Down the road, though, its electrons over petroleum.
Honda recalls 6,800 Accord hybrids for switching to fail-safe mode
Tue, Oct 6 2015Honda is recalling 6,786 examples of the 2014-2015 Accord hybrid for an issue that can cause them to go into fail-safe mode. There are no reports of injuries or accidents, but the company has received 58 warranty claims about the problem as of Sept. 17, 2015, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported. Due to an issue in the sedan's hybrid battery cell voltage sensor, the part can be affected by electrical noise from the hybrid battery inverter and motor circuits. When this happens, the vehicle enter a fail-safe EV mode, which shuts off the internal combustion engine and limits the speed to 40 miles per hour. According to Honda, the Accord hybrids have about two miles of driving range in this state, and afterwards they stall. As a fix, the automaker has a software update to keep the sensor from misinterpreting the electrical noise. RECALL Subject : Hybrid System may go into Fail Safe Mode Report Receipt Date: SEP 25, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V602000 Component(s): HYBRID PROPULSION SYSTEM Potential Number of Units Affected: 6,786 All Products Associated with this Recall Vehicle Make Model Model Year(s) HONDA ACCORD HYBRID 2014-2015 Details Manufacturer: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) SUMMARY: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Honda Accord Hybrid vehicles manufactured August 29, 2013, to May 30, 2015. Electrical interference may cause the hybrid system to switch into fail-safe mode, disabling the gasoline engine, limiting the vehicle's speed to 40 miles per hour and functioning only on battery power. Once the battery is discharged, the vehicle will stall. CONSEQUENCE: A vehicle stall increases the risk of a crash. REMEDY: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will update the hybrid system software, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin November 6, 2015. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is JT7. NOTES: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
