This beautiful  2011 Honda Pilot derives its power from a 3.5-liter V6, which delivers 250 horsepower. It comes mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission that shifts super smooth.   This 2-wheel-drive Pilot provides 3,500 pounds of towing capability, and has a 2" receiver hitch already mounted.   Honda contends the frame has more high-grade steel than any other vehicle it builds. Coupled with standard front and side curtain airbags, the Pilot has garnered several safety accolades. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) awarded the Pilot its "Top Safety Pick" and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the Pilot its highest safety rating of five stars for both front and side impact collisions.  Also, drivers will enjoy the large power moonroof with a diffuser to minimize exterior noise while it is open. This Pilot also has a rear seat entertainment system, which includes a DVD player complemented with a 512-watt, 10-speaker stereo. To further appease rear passengers, this EX Pilot provides a tri-zone climate control system with humidity control and air-filtration.  Most appealing, however, is the rear view mirror integrated rearview camera, which is an option that is included on this  Honda.  The Blue Metallic exterior looks fantastic, and has no signs of any damage.  Very attractive color.  The leather interior is in great shape, with no rips or tears anywhere.  Very comfortable seating.  The DVD screen is very large and easy to see, keeping the kids happy on those long trips.  The tires all look good, with plenty of tread left.  Honda reliability at a great price.  What are you waiting for?  Give us a call at 979-733-8444 with any questions at all.  Thanks for looking!

Senna's McLaren drives Honda up the wall

Wed, 11 Sep 2013

Honda is getting excited for its imminent return to Formula One with McLaren. So excited, in fact, that it got its new/old friends from Woking to loan it one of its old F1 cars. But not just any old F1 car...
On display at the Honda stand in Frankfurt this year is the 1988 McLaren MP4-4 in which the legendary Ayrton Senna drove to fifteen out of sixteen grands prix that season to take the championship in spectacular style.
Honda provided the engine for that car, a 1.5-liter turbo V6 with upwards of 600 horsepower to propel less than 1,200 lbs. Of course this being a static display car, it's likely been stripped of its engine, gearbox and most other internal mechanical components. But that doesn't make the sight of it any less memorable.

Honda finance to pay $24M for discriminatory lending practices

Wed, Jul 15 2015

Honda has found itself in hot water in the United States over allegations of discriminatory lending practices. However the Japanese automaker's American subsidiaries are taking actions to not only alter its practices, but compensate the victims of such past discrimination. According to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, some Honda dealers were found to have offered less preferential loans to customers of African-American, Hispanic, Asian, and Pacific Islander ethnicities than they have offered to white customers, irrespective of their individual financial situations. The American Honda Finance Corporation has allowed dealers to mark up individual loans by two percent or more, depending on the length of the loan's contract, thereby opening the door for dealers to set interest rates at their discretion. And that discretion, according to the CFPB and the Department of Justice, has been applied in a discriminatory fashion, in violation of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act. Honda, for its part, refutes the allegations and maintains that its practices have not been racially or ethnically discriminatory. The company is nevertheless taking measures to address the charges. For one thing, Honda's US financial arm is reducing the amount of wiggle-room it gives its dealers to only 1.25 percent above the buy rate for short-term loans (5 years or less), and one percent for longer-term loans. It has also set up a $24-million fund to compensate victims of the alleged discrimination, coordinating with the CFPB on the dispersal of said funds. The CFPB reports that "because of Honda's responsible conduct," it is not seeking penalties to be levied against the company for the alleged discrimination. STATEMENT BY AMERICAN HONDA FINANCE CORPORATION RE: Settlement with the Department of Justice and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Jul 14, 2015 -- American Honda Finance Corporation (AHFC) has reached an agreement with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) that shows our commitment to work together to be part of the solution and to establish the path forward that best supports our Honda and Acura customers and dealers with clear and convenient financing options. AHFC strongly opposes any form of discrimination, and we expect our dealers to uphold this principle as well. We firmly believe that our lending practices have been fair and transparent.
