See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"Very minor exterior blemishes as would be expected in a 5 y/o vehicle--small quarter size stain in rear cargo floor. No history of accidents or body work. I encourage a carfax report."

This van was purchased in late 2008 by my wife and I, both 55 years old at the time, and is a one owner vehicle. It was used as a travel vehicle for my business and has 95% highway miles on it. I have retired and no longer need the vehicle. With the exception of a few oil changes, the van has exclusively been regularly serviced by Honda. All recommendations that were made have been done during each service. The exterior has very minor pencil lead size paint chips, many of which have had touchup paint. There is a pencil eraser size chip on the left front hood that has been touched up, but there is a minor indentation that can be seen on close inspection. The Van has never been in an accident, no vandalism, or any other kind of damage. The interior is almost like new--there's a small, minor scratch on the lower dash on passenger's side, and there's a quarter size stain on the rear cargo floor. This vehicle has been treated very well. There is 14,000 miles on 4 good quality Michelin tires. The battery is 6 months old, and all other systems have been updated by Honda Dealership. 100K mile service and tune-up completed 8 months ago costing over $1,000. The van is ready for another 100K miles according to dealership. Never smoked in. Never misused. See pictures!!

In pricing this vehicle, I took 4 reputable appraisal websites, averaged all 4 third party values based on condition, mileage, etc. and that amount is $11,900. I then looked at multiple sites to see the range of the same vehicle, and that ranged from apprx. $14,000--16,000, both private sellers and dealerships. Please understand that the vehicle is paid for, and I will not wholesale it. Although I believe the van to be in excellent shape, I cannot provide any warranty, and is for sale" as is."

It can be seen or picked up when sold in the Greenville, SC area. A cashier's check for $500 non-refundable deposit sent priority mail within 3 days will hold the vehicle for 10 days. The remainder is preferred in cash but will accept another cashier's check.

While I have not used Ebay for a while, my record for both buying and selling is 100% positive since 1999. I will look at your feedback record as well before accepting an offer.

Please feel free to email me with any questions--I am advertising this locally as well, and reserve the right to end the auction early. If you are looking to buy a vehicle at bargain basement prices, this is not your vehicle. Thanks for looking!

New Honda ads: Fix your airbags

Sat, Mar 14 2015

As we've heard on many different occasions, one of the biggest problem with recalls is getting people to actually report to the dealership to have repairs done. This is particularly important in cases where the recalled part can cause some very serious harm. To combat this tendency – you might even call it neglectfulness – on the part of owners, Honda is turning to advertising. The company is launching a multi-million-dollar ad campaign targeting owners of vehicles affected by the Takata airbag recall and asking them to report in to have a replacement inflator installed. "Honda hopes that this new consumer information campaign will bolster our existing and continuing efforts to reach our customers and maximize the vehicle repair completion rates associated with recalls to replace Takata airbag inflators," Honda's John Mendel said in the attached statement. "These ads are a strong call to action from our company designed to break through the clutter, grab the attention of customers driving affected vehicles, and urge that they get required repairs as soon as possible." The campaign will kick off March 16 with full-page color ads in over 120 newspapers and 30-second radio spots in 110 markets. Because it's 2015, the company will also use sponsored Facebook posts "that mention the specific vehicle owned by each identified user." Yep, here's the future. Honda's ads will largely be focused in the 11 high-humidity states and territories (Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands) most affected by the Takata recall. Several of the states were part of the initial National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation, like Florida, Hawaii, the USVI and Puerto Rico. "The goals of this campaign is to save lives and prevent injuries," Mendel added. This campaign will be worth watching, not only because they deliver an important message, but they could set a precedent for the handling of future major recalls. Top 10 small cars with the longest total driving range

Thu, Mar 19 2015

Editor's Note: Since this article was originally posted in the spring of 2015, much has changed in the automotive landscape, especially among those shopping for small car economy. With thanks to Volkswagen for their blatant cheating – and subsequent cover-up – on diesel emissions, the largest player in the diesel passenger car segment isn't playing – they're paying; billions are going for both car buybacks and federally-imposed penalties. And for a few VW execs there exists the very real possibility of jail. With the absence of a big player and the abrupt entrance – via Chevy's new Bolt – of an affordable EV with 200+ miles of range, we've limited the diesel listings to Jaguar's new XE. And for those wanting an updated look at efficiency and range, Autoblog has it – or the EPA has it. Long before electric vehicles were part of the mainstream conversation, car lovers and skinflints alike would boast about the total range of their vehicles. There's something about getting farther down the road on one tank of gas that inflames the competitive spirit, almost as much as horsepower output or top speed. Of course, the vehicles with the very best range on today's market are almost all big trucks and SUVs; virtually all have the ability to carry massive reserves of fuel. Top up a standard Chevy Suburban and you can expect to travel almost 700 miles (you'll need to stop before the Suburban stops...), while a diesel-fed Jeep Grand Cherokee manages almost as many. But what about vehicles that are smaller? The EPA has, essentially, three classifications for 'small' vehicles: Minicompact, Subcompact and Compact. All three are measured based on interior volume, meaning that some cars with rather large exterior dimensions and engines slot in next to traditional small cars. But even though impressive GT coupes from Porsche, Bentley and Mercedes-Benz may have much larger gas tanks to feed their powerful engines, that capacity is offset by higher rates of consumption... in most cases. We used the EPA's Fuel Economy Guide for model year 2017 cars as a start, calculating the official highway miles per gallon rating with each vehicle's tank capacity. The resulting numbers aren't necessarily real world, but they do offer a spectrum for total theoretical range. The eventual top ten surprised me on a few occasions, and comprised quite a varied list of vehicles. 10.

Consumer Reports' first motorcycle reliability report finds Japanese brands ahead

Sat, 22 Feb 2014

Consumer Reports has released its first ever study of motorcycle reliability, and students of its ratings on cars might notice a suspicious similarity - Japanese brands require fewer repairs than the leading American or German brands.
The study analyzed the reliability of 4,680 bikes owned by CR subscribers and found that Yamaha had the best ratings, with just one in ten bikes built between 2009 and 2012 requiring a repair over a four-year period. The makers of the R1 and R6 sport bikes were closely followed by Kawasaki and Honda, while one out of every four of the rumbling bikes from Harley-Davidson experienced an issue. BMW had the worst rating of the brands represented, with one in three bikes having problems.
According to CR, neither Suzuki nor Triumph owners provided enough information for a reliable rating. Based on the responses received, though, Suzuki would have finished with the other Japanese brands and Triumph, being English, would have been one of the less reliable makes.
